Despite Sophia's exaggerated expressions and sounds, Mark maintained his cool demeanor, his focus unwavering as he encouraged her to complete her set. His hands remained steady on the handles, guiding her movements with the precision of a professional trainer.
"You've got this, Sophia," he repeated, his voice calm and firm. "Keep your form steady. Breathe through it."
Sophia, playing up her supposed struggle, begged breathlessly, "I can't, Mark. It's too heavy." Her voice was laced with desperation, and she emitted intermittent moans that were loud enough to be heard by those around her, causing a few heads to turn in their direction with raised eyebrows.
"Focus," Mark instructed, ignoring the attention she was drawing. "Just one more rep. You can do it."
Sophia pushed against the weight again, her body trembling with exaggerated effort. Her moans grew more pronounced, bordering on the edge of propriety, and the few lingering female gym members shot her disapproving looks. The calculated performance was intended to draw Allen's attention, but also inadvertently disturbed the calm of the gym environment.
"Oh~!" Finally, with a dramatic exhalation and a final groan, Sophia managed to complete her first set. She let the weights fall back into place with a clatter, her body sagging as if utterly spent. She panted heavily, her chest rising and falling with exaggerated rapidity, and wiped a bead of nonexistent sweat from her brow.
"I don't know if I can go on," she murmured, her voice weak and plaintive. She looked up at Mark with wide, pleading eyes, as if hoping he would offer her some reprieve.
Mark offered her a reassuring smile. "You did great, Sophia. Take a moment to catch your breath. We can lower the weight for the next set if you need."
Sophia nodded, maintaining her exhausted act. "Thank you, Mark," she said, her voice dripping with gratitude. "I'm not sure I could have done it without you."
"No problem." Mark frowned in confusion as he observed Sophia's exaggerated exhaustion. "You should have been able to handle that weight with ease," he said, concern evident in his voice. "Do you have any health problems or anything that might be affecting your performance?"
Sophia shook her head, still maintaining her breathless act. "No, I don't have any health issues," she replied, her voice soft but insistent.
Mark looked thoughtful for a moment. "I'd suggest checking your health just to be sure, but if you've already done that and everything is normal, it could be a problem with your stamina and endurance."
Sophia nodded, trying to appear both earnest and vulnerable. "I've had a health check recently, and everything came back normal."
Mark's expression remained professional, though he seemed slightly puzzled. "In that case, we should focus on building your stamina. Follow me into the lobby, and I'll explain some things that could help you improve."
Sophia's heart leaped at the suggestion, misinterpreting his professional concern as personal interest. However, she quickly realized that going to the lobby wouldn't serve her purpose of making Allen jealous. She needed to stay visible.
"Could you explain it to me on the bench over there?" she asked, pointing to a nearby bench within clear view of the gym floor. "I'm still a bit tired and wouldn't want to move too far."
Mark considered this for a moment, then nodded. "Sure, that works. But I need to grab a couple of things first. Wait here for a moment."
Sophia smiled sweetly, a mixture of satisfaction and anticipation bubbling within her. "Thank you, Mark. I appreciate it."@@novelbin@@
Mark walked off to fetch whatever he needed, and Sophia sat on the bench, adjusting her posture to appear both attractive and vulnerable. She was pleased with how things were progressing. If she could keep Mark interested and visibly engaged with her, Allen would surely take notice.
While waiting, Sophia cast a few surreptitious glances around the gym. She noticed that Allen's gaze occasionally flickered in her direction, though he quickly looked away whenever their eyes might have met. She could sense the simmering tension and frustration in him, even from a distance.
However, the reality was quite different from what Sophia imagined. Allen's mind was a battleground, but not for the reasons she thought. Every exaggerated moan and breathy gasp that Sophia emitted only served to amplify Allen's already vivid and intrusive thoughts of Larissa.
The sounds echoed in his mind, melding with his fantasies, driving his lewd thoughts into wilder and more uncontrollable territory.
'Oh God… this is getting wilder…' he thought and exhaled a long breath. He tried to steady his breath and calm his mind. He even tried to sing a nursery song in his head just to distract his mind.
A couple of minutes later, Mark returned with a small notebook and a bottle of water. He handed the water to Sophia first. "Here, hydrate yourself. It's important to stay hydrated, especially during intense workouts."
Sophia took the bottle gratefully, her fingers brushing against Mark's hand deliberately as she accepted it. "Thank you," she murmured, her voice soft and appreciative.
Taking a sip from her water bottle, she pretended to fumble slightly, spilling some of the water onto her chest. "Ah!" she gasped, loud enough to attract Mark's attention. The cool liquid trickled down, accentuating the curves of her chest. She hoped the sight would draw Mark's eyes, and through him, Allen's attention as well.
Mark remained composed. He reached for a box of tissues on a nearby table and handed one to Sophia. "Here, use this," he said, his voice calm and polite.
"Thank you," Sophia replied, taking the tissue and dabbing at the water on her chest. She made sure her movements were slow and deliberate, designed to draw attention to her figure. But Mark seemed unfazed, maintaining his cool demeanor.
Mark sat down next to her again, opening his notebook and pulling out a pen. He began asking her a series of questions about her fitness routine, her goals, and any specific areas she wanted to focus on. Sophia answered each question, trying to inject a bit of flirtation into her responses, but Mark remained focused on the task at hand.
What do you think?
