Chapter 878 Peculiar Sensation
Villain Ch 878. Peculiar Sensation@@novelbin@@
A gentle tap on his shoulder pulled him out of his reverie. He turned to see Larissa's vampire queen avatar looking at him with concern. "Are you alright?" she asked, her voice tinged with worry.
Allen forced a smile, though he felt far from fine. "Yeah, I'm fine," he replied, his voice sounding more confident than he felt.
Larissa didn't look convinced. "You seem to have a lot on your mind," she said, her eyes searching his face.
Allen cleared his throat, trying to find the right words. "Yeah, I was just thinking about some things," he said uncertainty. It was strange, surreal even. They had just completed a simple quest, slaughtered a few players, and now he was feeling...horny? The absurdity of it made him question his sanity. Was he turning into a psychopath, getting turned on by violence?
Larissa's voice broke through his spiraling thoughts. "Tell me, maybe I can help you."
Allen hesitated, his mind racing. "I'm not sure," he admitted, trying to understand what was happening inside him. Why did he feel this way? He needed to calm down and figure it out.
He took a deep breath, focusing on the steady rise and fall of his chest. The sensation of heat and arousal was still there, but he tried to push it aside, to regain some semblance of control. "Do you want to do something? Like hunting or checking the market?" he asked, hoping a change of activity might help distract him.
If he told Larissa that he was horny, he was sure Larissa wouldn't mind the intimacy, but he was more interested in knowing what was happening to him.
Larissa looked at him thoughtfully, her concern still evident. "We can do whatever you want, Allen. If there's something on your mind, though, you can talk to me. You know that, right?"
Allen nodded, appreciating her understanding. "I know. It's just… strange. I don't really understand it myself. I guess I will find it out on the way," he stated.
"Fine." Larissa frowned for a moment, processing the situation. She glanced at Allen, searching his face for any indication of what was really going on. Finally, she offered a smile, albeit a small one. "Checking on the market sounds fun," she said.
"Okay, let's do that," Allen replied. This time, without hesitation, he reached out and grabbed Larissa's hand, leading her back into the mansion and toward the portal room.
'Huh?' thought Larissa in shock. Her feet moved automatically to follow Allen. She had to admit she was a little surprised by his sudden gesture. Allen was rarely this forward, especially in a public setting, even if it was just a virtual world. He was usually reserved, cautious with his displays of affection, preferring to keep their intimacy private. Explore stories on My Virtual Library Empire
This simple act of holding her hand, even in the game, was unusual for him.
Larissa's surprise quickly turned into a warm, contented feeling. She understood why Allen was often guarded. His trust issues ran deep, and opening his heart was a slow, deliberate process for him. It wasn't easy for him to show vulnerability, let alone affection, in public or semi-public spaces. That he did so now, even in this small way, meant a lot to her.
They arrived at the portal room once again. Allen and Larissa used their Disguise skill. As their avatars transformed into more nondescript versions of themselves, they stepped through the shimmering portal.
This time, they chose Ront City. It was a relatively normal place, but the market was always bustling with activity. Larissa had a particular interest in seeing how the drama and events from yesterday had developed. Gaming forums had been buzzing with discussions and speculations, and Larissa had checked them this morning, finding a flood of comments from players.
Yet, some information was always better obtained firsthand.
Once they emerged on the other side, the vibrant city of Ront greeted them. The market was alive with the chatter of NPCs and players alike, the air filled with the scent of virtual spices and the hum of bartering. Stalls lined the streets, displaying everything from rare artifacts to common goods, creating a tapestry of color and movement.
Strangely, even though they had moved to the busy city, Allen didn't let go of Larissa's hand. His grip was firm, almost as if he was afraid to part with her. This unusual display of affection made Larissa blush. 'What happened to him? Why is he acting so sweet like this?' she wondered, her heart fluttering.
The bustling market seemed to fade into the background as Larissa's mind focused on Allen's behavior. Normally, he was more reserved, especially in public or semi-public settings like this. His trust issues and tendency to keep his emotions guarded were well-known to her, making this sudden shift all the more surprising.
She tried to piece together the events of the day. From the moment he had arrived at her apartment with flowers and breakfast, there had been an undercurrent of something different in his demeanor. It wasn't just the distraction at the gym or the strange arousal he had experienced; it was something deeper, something that seemed to have shifted his perspective.
Allen led her through the crowded streets, his eyes scanning the market stalls and the players around them. The intense arousal blended with confusion and an inexplicable need for closeness. Holding Larissa's hand, feeling her warmth and presence, seemed to ground him in a way he couldn't quite explain.
They walked through the bustling market, the lively atmosphere of Ront City enveloping them. Stalls lined the streets, each one teeming with various goods and artifacts. Normally, Allen would be in his element here, his sharp eyes scanning for good upgrade items and high-grade Enhancement Stones.
His usual excitement and keen interest in the market were always palpable, making him a formidable player when it came to finding the best deals and rare items.
But today was different. Allen looked distracted, his focus seemingly elsewhere. His eyes darted around, but not with their usual intensity. The sharpness he typically exhibited was dulled, replaced by a restless energy that made him seem out of place in the familiar market setting. He barely glanced at the stalls, not showing the slightest interest in the items on display.
What do you think?
