Chapter 36 - Smashing the Car

Chapter 36: Smashing the Car

Yang Yu looked at Li Hui mockingly and said, “With your looks, you think you can chase my girlfriend? Who gave you the confidence? Liang Jingru?”

“Don’t mess around! My uncle is…” Li Hui stammered while stepping back in fear.

“I don’t care if your dad is Li Gang,” Yang Yu interrupted before he could finish.

“How do you know my dad’s name is Li Gang?”

Yang Yu: “…”

Like hell he knew.

“Xiao Yang, let it go. Hitting him will just make things worse. Let’s just go home,” Lin Jia’s parents and aunt urged.

“Don’t worry, hitting him would dirty my hands,” Yang Yu said with a smirk.

Hearing that Yang Yu wouldn’t lay a hand on him, Li Fatty instantly became arrogant again. “Everyone here knows the power of my Li family. Good thing you know your place.”

Yang Yu clapped his hands, and out of nowhere, two bodyguards appeared.

“Take him to the restaurant entrance and beat him where there are more people around.”

“Yes, boss,” the bodyguards immediately dragged the fatty away.

“Uncle, Auntie, let’s talk at home. I’ll have someone send you and Auntie back first,” Yang Yu said, then called over two more bodyguards.

Left with no choice, Lin Jia’s parents had to leave first.

Yang Yu held Lin Jia’s hand and walked toward the restaurant entrance, where a crowd had gathered to watch.

Lin Jia grew anxious. “Let’s leave quickly before the police arrive.”

“Relax, I’ve got it under control,” Yang Yu reassured her.

Lighting a cigarette, he walked up to the scene. “Stop! Hui, didn’t you just buy a new car? Show me where it is.”

Yang Yu’s bodyguards were professionally trained—on the surface, the injuries didn’t look severe, but internally, they were serious. If left untreated, Li Hui would be in real trouble once the injuries surfaced later.

Right now, Li Hui was terrified. He had never been beaten like this in his life. He pointed at a brand-new BMW X5. “That’s the car I just bought a few days ago. Big brother, please let me go! If you like the car, I’ll give it to you! I promise I won’t bother Lin Jia again!”

“Relax, I won’t hit you anymore,” Yang Yu said with a grin. “But if you want to leave, smash your car.”

Showing off with a mere BMW? Thinking of driving Lin Jia home? There was no way a petty man like Yang Yu would let that car go.

“Big brother, can I not smash it? I’ll pay you instead,” Li Hui pleaded, nearly in tears.

“Sure, I’m a reasonable guy,” Yang Yu said casually. “Either you smash the car, or I let my men smash you. Pick one.”

In the end, Li Hui chose to smash the car. He picked up a rock from the roadside and smashed the windshield in one go.

He looked at Yang Yu after he was done.

“Keep going. You stop when the car is completely wrecked.”

“You’re really cruel. How did I just realize this now?” Lin Jia said from the side.

“Oh, I can be worse. Want to test it tonight?” Yang Yu smirked.

Lin Jia rolled her beautiful eyes at him and scoffed, “In your dreams!”

Just then, police sirens wailed in the distance. Moments later, the cops arrived—someone must have called them.

Seeing the police, Li Hui thought he was saved. He ran toward them.

“Officer! They assaulted me and smashed my car! Arrest them!” Li Hui shouted excitedly.

The leading officer turned to another cop and said, “Take his statement.”

Then he walked over to Yang Yu. “We received a report about an alleged assault. Please come with us.”

Yang Yu glanced at the officer and said, “Let me make a call first.”

After saying a few words over the phone, he hung up.

“Done calling? Let’s go,” the officer said.

Just then, the officer’s phone rang. He glanced at Yang Yu before stepping aside to answer it.

A minute later, he returned and ordered, “Pack it up. Leave the Hui here.”

Within two minutes, the police were gone without a trace.

Li Hui stood there in utter shock, looking lost.

Yang Yu waved his hand. “Alright, keep smashing. Don’t stop until the car is completely totaled.”

Li Hui collapsed on the ground, crying. Just what kind of person had he offended? This guy was a devil.

“Don’t play dead. Keep smashing. If you don’t finish, you’re not leaving.”

“You two, keep an eye on him,” Yang Yu ordered his bodyguards.

Then, he took Lin Jia’s hand and strolled away.
