Chapter 1127: How?
Chapter 1127: How?
"What… is happening?"
Aurora did not really know what to expect when she accepted this mission. Of course, she knew it was going to be as ridiculous and as mind-blogging as possible — after all, she was with a man who was capable of destroying the Order of Nothing's ships like they were nothing, and then he also salvaged all of their parts by telekinetically bringing it along with them.
And perhaps most importantly, when they sold everything they salvaged, he refused to get any of the money — that was money that would set him up for thousands of lifetimes without have to lift a single finger again, and that is what's most ridiculous for Aurora.
Someone who would refuse something like that could only be a crazy person.
And of course, she was proven right — even his companion, Miss Pepondosovich, told her that Riley was insane. But right now, however, she was starting to think that she might be the one that is going insane.
Her eyes were seeing it, but her mind was completely at a loss as to what was happening.
Just now, she saw that man with the mustache transform into a 3-meter man with an elongated horse head… and a desert suddenly emerged out of nowhere; pushing them away from the pyramid, but not really?
She was so confused, extremely so.
"Did… that man just multiply himself?" And soon, even from afar, she saw Set making multiple copies of himself — perhaps more than a hundred and they all started surrounding Riley. And without even giving him any chance to attack, those hundreds of Sets just pointed their scepter toward him; releasing some sort of dark beam.
She doesn't know what the dark beam was, but she started feeling weak just by looking at it. Even Monkeh, who was trying to be as relax as possible, could not help but lean from her chair as she watched what was happening.
"Shouldn't… we help him?" Aurora took in a small gulp as she saw the dark beam just completely veiling Riley; his white silhouette no longer to be seen anywhere.
"Help him how?" Monkeh just shrugged her shoulders.
"I don't know! Assist him or something!" Aurora gestured to Monkeh to go out there, "You were able to fight Riley toe-to-toe! I'm sure you can help him in some way!"
"...Toe-to-toe?" Monkeh blinked a couple of times as she stared at Aurora in disbelief, "You didn't watch at all when we were fighting, didn't you? I got my hairy ass handed down by the White Face — and I don't think he was even putting up any effort. And even if I want to help, my staff is all the way in the First Island. Maybe if my seal was gone, I could help…
…but right now, I am as useless as you are."
"T… then…" Aurora then looked up, only to see the thick fur of the soles of Miss Pepondosovich's feet on the glass roof, "...Why isn't she helping him?"
"You're about to find out the reason why."
"What do you—" And before Aurora could finish her words, Miss Pepondosovich suddenly disappeared — only to appear right in front of their ship; her foot, kicking a scepter that shot toward their ship.
"!!!"
And as soon as her foot made contact with the scepter, Aurora could not help but close her eyes as a ripple just violently exploded outward. And as Aurora once again opened her eyes as she did not really want to miss anything, she saw the colorful expanse of the Grand Triangle just tremble.
The colorful expanse she was seeing were the giant bioluminescent trees, which are supposed to be almost hundreds of thousands of miles away from them — and yet the shockwave of Miss Pepondosovich blocking it with her feet already reached it in just less than a second?
Just what exactly is she seeing right now?
If that was just the shockwave, then…
"What…" Aurora's breaths started to stutter. She did not really know when it happened, but Riley was no longer being showered by the dark beam and was now choking one of the clones with a single arm wrapped around its neck. And while he was doing this, he was also slapping and swatting away all the scepters swinging toward him.
And soon, Riley was using the clone as a shield; slamming it toward the scepters swinging toward him and then just letting it go once it had exhausted its use — exhausted, meaning it was dead. He could still use it as a shield, but he deliberately lets go of it and then just grabs another one.
And this time, he was not even using the clone as a shield, but a weapon — and from how he was swinging the 3-meter clone, he was using the same technique Set's clones were using.
"What the!?" She then watched as Riley just ripped apart the body completely in half and then started using it like a nunchuk, "This…
…this is getting ridiculous. We—!!!"
And before Aurora could finish her words, Miss Pepondosovich once again jumped in front of the ship — this time kicking away an entire clone; the massive 3-meter clone versus her tiny little muscular legs…
…and the clone just completely burst into pieces; its blood and guts showering everywhere.
"Oop, we can't see," Monkeh then just quickly pressed a button in the ship; causing a large wiper to just clean their window of all the mess so that they would once again have a clear view of what was happening.
And it was just in time for them to see Set slam his scepter down. And as he did so, all of his clones just started exploding into pieces; leaving Riley, who was seemingly enjoying the carnage, to just stand there slightly disappointed. He was about to rip off one of the clones' heads, and they all just suddenly turned to mist.
"...Who are you?" Set then finally opened his mouth to talk again as he looked Riley's straight in the eyes, "Judging from how strong you are, you are most likely from the Domain of the Gods, and so is she."
"Hm?" Riley looked back to where Set was pointing, only for Set to just quickly thrust his scepter straight toward his chest — completely piercing it without any resistance.
"N… no!" Aurora gasped and covered her mouth as she saw that. But soon, confusion followed as the scepter… did not really pierce through Riley's flesh. It went through it, but it was almost as if Riley's body was just some sort of hologram as the scepter just smoothly moved through him when he stepped to the side.
And of course, Set was also amused at this.
"I suppose they do not call you the God of Deception for nothing," Riley blinked a couple of times before actually still looking to where Set was pointing, only to see Miss Pepondosovich in the distance, "And yes, she is from the Domain of the Gods — I only visited. But I do also find your existence interesting, Set…
…have you perhaps visited Earth thousands of years ago?"
"Earth?" Set squinted his eyes as he just very slowly retracted his scepter; placing it beside him almost as if he no longer had any intention to attack.
"Of course, it would not be called Earth then — it is a colorful planet very far away from here," Riley shrugged, "With lots of trees and water, only humans live on it."
"There are a thousand planets like that."
"There are pyramids on it," Riley pointed at the pyramid island, "And perhaps you know of the name Akkamesh, Set?"
"The son of Ra," Set answered without any hesitation, "I have never met him, or any of his variants. But I know Ra — there is only one alive now."
"Interesting," Riley placed his hand on his chin, "I was previously thinking of killing you, but perhaps I should give you to Pirate Queen Xra as a gift if we ever meet again."
"...Kill me?" Set let out a small chuckle before looking Riley in the eyes, "You seem to overestimate yourself just because I have been going easy on you, Boy."
"Then perhaps it is time for you to not go easy then, Set?" Riley just blinked a couple of times as he tilted his head to the side, "This will not—Oh?"
And before Riley could finish his words, he very slowly looked down, only to see half of his torso completely gone and blown away. He then turned to look at Set, only to see him pointing his scepter at him.
"W—" And before Riley could say anything else, it was his head this time that disappeared.
"N… No!" Aurora just once again gasped, "Miss Pepondosovich, he is—" And as Aurora looked at Miss Pepondosovich, she noticed how calm she was; she did not even move from her spot and was just looking at Riley and Set.
"Interesting."
"What the!?" Aurora then almost jumped in fright as she heard Riley's voice behind her. She quickly turned around, only to see Riley just stepping into the bridge from the hallway that leads to the private quarters, "What are you…
…How are you even there?"
What do you think?
