Chapter 261 Phase two begins
"¡I don't want to go back to classes," Charlotte said with a pout as she clung to Anthony like a koala, reluctant to let go of him and lazy to do anything else. During these vacation days, they literally spent their time in the training room and quality time in bed. Anthony looked at her and stroked her head, causing her to purr like a kitten and hug him even tighter.
Unnoticed by anyone, Charlotte began to sniff Anthony as her eyes shone intensely. Many things crossed her mind at that moment.
Lysandra was sitting on a brown sofa, frowning as she watched Charlotte cling tightly to her husband. She was upset because Charlotte clung to him like a koala, something she couldn't do. Lysandra's expression turned somber, and Charlotte noticed, smiling mockingly, earning her a deathly glare from Lysandra.
Anthony, on the other hand, stood indifferent to their staring contest, his gaze fixed on Ema, who was also watching him seriously. Both had a completely serious expression. "Big brother! Look," Ema said, showing her hand with a small red spot and teary eyes. Anthony started to feel a headache. They had been training as if it were the last day of vacation, and Anthony dragged Ema to the living room.
After a few seconds, the room's door opened.
"Young Dragon, the Duchess Alison Darkwood is waiting for you in the hall," Nicol announced with a small bow. Charlotte's eyes widened excitedly, and she jumped out of Anthony's arms with a bright smile on her face. "Mother!" she exclaimed excitedly as she left the room. Anthony smiled and looked at Ema.
"Don't worry, little sister, it's just the beginning, but for now, this is it," he said before leaving the room. Ema's body stiffened, and her expression turned somber. She touched her face and muttered incredulously, "Didn't it work?" She was using her trump card, acting cute, but it didn't work. It was totally useless. She brought her hands to her head in despair.
"Little Ema, you can't fool Anthony with that," Lysandra said, trying to console Ema. Experience more content on My Virtual Library Empire
"Teacher, save me!" Ema shouted, knowing she was her only hope now. She really liked studying magic, but practicing physical activities, which hurt a lot, was another thing. Besides, she wasn't the best at it. Still, her older brother made her run for hours and practice self-defense. Lysandra smiled sweetly as she stroked Ema's cheek. "Good luck," she said before leaving the room.
Ema's bright eyes darkened, and her complexion paled. "It's over," she murmured defeatedly, lowering her head, but the sparkle in her eyes still held hope. Her mother was the only one who could save her.
Anthony walked through the halls and entered the hall, where there were multiple luxurious furnishings. The floor was made of beautiful light-colored glass, and the aroma in the air was pleasant and warm. Sitting on one of the furnishings was an extremely attractive woman, wearing a beautiful black dress that hugged her body's curves. She sat elegantly while holding a teacup.@@novelbin@@
The allure she exuded was abnormal, and her beautiful purple eyes glowed slightly as Anthony returned the smile. Charlotte was sitting next to her mother, talking non-stop.
Anthony sat across from her and waited quietly until Charlotte was satisfied. After a few minutes, Charlotte and Lysandra started talking to Alison. Most of the conversation between the three revolved around how they were doing in the academy. "I got first place in the special event," Charlotte said proudly, puffing out her chest. Alison hugged her tenderly. "Well done, my daughter.
I'm proud," she said with loving eyes. Anthony frowned a bit. He had gotten third place and felt a bitter taste in his mouth, but he couldn't do much about it at the moment. However, he was happy for Charlotte for getting first place; it was preferable to Ezequiel, who got second place.
Hours passed, and the four talked about any topic. At one point, Charlotte and Lysandra left the room, leaving Alison and Anthony alone. He took a glass from the table and pulled a bottle of wine from his ring, quickly opened it, and poured two glasses. He brought the white liquid to his mouth and nodded satisfactorily.
Alison looked at him intently, no longer with the cute smile on her face but with a somber expression. "How did it go?" she asked with a smile. Alison gritted her teeth. "The seal has disappeared," she said. Anthony nodded and asked for the list. Alison took out a crystal from her ring and handed it to him.
Anthony looked at the crystal curiously and applied some mana, discerning several names carved into it. "These are the real names, right?" he asked casually. Alison glared at him. "Yes," she said, gritting her teeth.
Anthony left the room with a smile, having no more business to attend to with her. Meanwhile, in the hall, Alison felt her blood boil with anger. Being a slave was something that consumed her inside, although she knew she had no other options. It was a desperate situation, and her rational side knew that he had saved her, but still...
She shook her head and looked at the glass of wine filled with crystal, she grabbed it and drank it in one gulp, slightly opening her eyes. It tasted good.
She let out a tired sigh. To be honest, every day was torment for her. She couldn't sleep, and in her mind, she feared that her now master would betray her after giving her everything she needed. She felt defenseless. She lowered her head resignedly, closing her eyes. Her body disappeared from the hall.
Anthony walked through the halls, his eyes shining intensely as he read all the names on the list Alison had given him. They were all in the lower classes; the fine darkness left his body and filled the entire hallway, the darkness moved madly on the walls: "Phase two begins," he said with a smile on his face.
What do you think?
