Chapter 1325: Section 1326 Arrangements
A strange atmosphere spread, and no one had expected that the person Jon brought them to meet was the two owners of Pat Manor.
Nor did anyone anticipate that the Viscount would tell them a harrowing story with a face full of shame.
“We, we’re all dead?” The speaker was the Shepherd Frandu, his voice trembling slightly.
Lyon’s eyes carried an inscrutable sadness, “Only the flesh has died, at least the spiritual consciousness remains, enduring in this place.”
“We’re really dead, why don’t I feel anything?” Everyone was stunned, seemingly unable to come to their senses.
Only the mute servant Yorkshire had an epiphany, no wonder he suddenly could speak—it was because… he was already dead.
“Then… Lord Viscount and the young master, as well as Mr. Jon, why are you here? Could it be, you also encountered misfortune?”
After a moment of shock, the Head Maid Mana’s first response was to worry about her masters, which only deepened Lyon’s guilt.
Jon said with a smile, “Me, I’m in a half-dead state, pretty much the same as you. As for Lyon and Angel, they have become Transcendents and have other ways to come here.”
“So, is this the world after death?” a servant asked.
“It’s not the hell or the ruins of the undead that you imagine; this is a special world. Your lives here won’t be much different from before. However, you may need to adapt to the lifestyle here and change your previous rhythms,” Angel replied.
Angel’s words left many people somewhat at a loss.
They were still digesting the news of their “death,” and now they had to face the change in the rhythm of life, which for many servants settled in their ways, was a radical change. It could even make them feel intimidated.
Only those with strong inner spirits, like the Head Maid Mana and Knight Swoki, were slightly better off.
Looking at the people with an air of “misery,” Angel said softly, “Don’t worry, Frode will give you time to adapt. Besides, a change in lifestyle is not a bad thing—it’s just a new way of living.”
Whether Angel’s reassurance would be effective was uncertain, but the atmosphere at the scene made Lyon feel especially uncomfortable.
“Angel, is there no way for them to gradually accept the change?” Lyon’s tone carried a plea he had never had before.
After all, the ordeal that these servants were going through had been caused by his Mentor’s lover.
Moreover, as the de facto leader of Gru Town, they were Lyon’s subjects. Failing to protect the safety of his subjects’ lives was already a source of great guilt for Lyon, and the bewildered atmosphere among them made him feel even worse than they did.
He was powerless to change everything here and could only look to Angel for hope.
After a moment’s thought, unable to bear rejecting his brother’s request, Angel nodded: “All right, I’ll think of something.”
Angel returned from the Wilderness of Dreams to reality.
At this time, Sanders was leaning against Metheor, silently watching the conversation between Suise and Rolando.
Although Rolando had removed the mysterious energy from the servants, the outcome was much as expected, the group of servants was dead… Suise knew that servants are mere Mortals, and Eulica is an Official Wizard; they are incomparable. But just to be sure, he confirmed with Rolando repeatedly.
At that moment, Sanders heard Angel’s telepathic message.
He glanced at Suise without a word, then flew away from the cloud soil and came to the terrace at the top of the castle.
Angel was standing on the edge of the terrace, silently overlooking the secluded and somewhat dilapidated manor.
“Are those servants in the Wilderness of Dreams now?” Sanders landed next to Angel, quietly asked.
Angel nodded, “Yes, they have safely reached the Wilderness of Dreams. I’ve also dealt with their bodies in reality.”
Sanders nodded in acknowledgment, choosing not to dwell on the subject, and brought up the main topic: “You communicated just now that you wish to use the Dream Conch?”
Angel nodded in agreement, “I want to copy the entire Pat Manor to Originheart City.”
Letting those servants temporarily reside in the familiar place and then gradually get to know the things in Originheart City—that was the only solution Angel could think of.
“Is it for those servants?” Sanders almost immediately understood Angel’s plan.
“And for my own peace of mind.”
Sanders pondered for a while, “All right, I understand. I will instruct Suise and White Bear to temporarily leave the manor.”
Sanders did not say much, simply turned, and left.
Angel could have kept this from Sanders, but with Suise still around, using the Dream Conch to pull such a large part of Pat Manor into the dream could raise his suspicions. That’s why he had informed Sanders.
Sanders also understood Angel’s intentions. Although he thought it unnecessary to go to such lengths for the sake of the servants, he had no intention of stopping Angel, as his mind was made up.
After Sanders returned to the Cloud Soil, he sent Suise and Rolando to the Gravity Garden for a while, claiming that it was easy for Divination to pry into affairs of the outside world. Suise suspected nothing and, since Rolando was to dispel Eulica’s Mysterious Energy, White Bear naturally showed great concern. Thus, in the end, it did not require much effort for Sanders to lead both Suise and White Bear away from Pat Manor.
Once he sensed their departure, Angel immediately took out the Dream Conch and pulled Pat Manor into the Wilderness of Dreams.
The location of Pat Manor was set by Angel on the edge of the eastern district of Originheart City, where there were no people. It was already cleared out after a prior arrangement with Frode. Therefore, when Pat Manor suddenly appeared out of nowhere, it did not attract much attention.
But such a large estate was bound to be discovered by someone before too long.
Once back in the Wilderness of Dreams, Angel led everyone towards the eastern district.
All the way there, Angel could feel that after some time for restoration, the emotions of the servants gradually calmed down, though many, like Ollie by his side, still had a vacant look in their eyes.
Ollie, the maid, followed close behind Angel, seemingly still adjusting her pace as she always had in her role as the personal maid.
Although her stride was unchanged, there was still a dazed look in her eyes.
“Young Master, are we really unable to return?” Ollie finally asked after hesitating for a while.
“There might be a chance, but it’s probably not very big,” Angel replied softly.
Upon receiving this answer, a look of deep disappointment crossed Ollie’s eyes.
“What are you worried about?” In Angel’s view, Ollie was not old and, as far as he knew, she rarely left Gru Town. It seemed she had only been taken to Waterford once because of a procurement issue by Knight Swoki, which was the farthest she had ever been from home.
Ollie was young and had always lived in a small community, so experiencing the outside world should have made it easier for her to adapt. Angel did not understand why Ollie seemed more troubled than the others.
However, Angel’s perspective on the issue was skewed by his own viewpoint; of course, he liked and was willing to see this vast world.
But to an introverted and sensitive girl like Ollie, who had hardly ever stepped outside her home, what she feared most was change, especially changing her most familiar circle. For her, Pat Manor and Gru Town were her comfort zones, and stepping out of them frightened her.
The reason she followed so closely by Angel’s side was that she felt a sense of security only near people she knew well.
“Though Head Maid Mana, Knight Swoki… they’re all here, I still really miss my other friends. Thinking that I might not see them in the future makes me very scared,” she said.
Angel fell silent for a moment, “Perhaps, they might come here in the future.”
“No, no, no, I didn’t mean I want them to die,” Ollie hastened to clarify, waving her hand, “I just miss them.”
Angel couldn’t help but chuckle, “Do you still think that this world is the one after death? Actually, you don’t need to die to come here.”
“But isn’t it only Transcendents who can reach here?” Ollie asked curiously.
“Do you think Mentor Jon is a Transcendent? Coming here only requires a little trick,” Angel paused, seeing Ollie’s brows relax somewhat, he continued, “If you really miss them that much, then adapt to living here well. Later on, I will find a way to bring them here, and when that happens, as the local leader, you’ll need to take care of them.”
At this, Ollie was taken aback. Finally breaking through her cloud of gloom, she smiled and said, “Okay.”
Soon, they arrived in the eastern district and saw “Pat Manor” situated there. Everyone was stunned, including Jon and Lyon, who had not expected to see the familiar building here.
“Why is the manor here?” someone asked incredulously.
Swoki looked at the manor in front of him, his mind flashing back to seeing the Marine Theater, and he mumbled somewhat hazily, “The Marine Theater has appeared, so it seems… normal to have Pat Manor too?”
In a daze, Angel pushed open the gate of the manor.
“From now on, this will be where you live. As for the rooms, they’re the same as your previous ones,” Angel led the way in, and the others, after a moment of stupor, followed with joy on their faces.
Seeing the familiar manor here was probably the most reassuring moment for them in the last few hours.
However, upon entering the manor gates, the former farmer’s eyes flickered with confusion: “Why are there no farms?”
Or rather, it wasn’t just the farms that were missing, there were no plants at all.
What lay before their eyes was desolation.
“The matter of the farms will be sorted out later,” Angel coughed twice, as, for now, he truly wasn’t able to solve the issue of crops on a large scale.
Of course, he could actually manage to drum up some plants if he wished. For example, sending some Extraordinary Items through the Dream Conch into the Wilderness of Dreams, or some sentient plants could be brought into the Wilderness of Dreams through Enter Dream, but this approach was not widely applicable.
Nevertheless, since plants could appear in the Wilderness of Dreams, the future was something to look forward to.
If they could bring the power of reality into this place, solving the plant issue would be simple. Any Nature Witch could accomplish it.
While the absence of farms was a minor issue, although everyone was puzzled, they were bombarded with too much information today to focus too much on it. They cared more about the insides of the manor.
What do you think?
