What Do You Mean There Are Other Transmigrators In My Harem Fantasy?

Chapter 945 We're Going To Raid Their Camp

Unerolia started reading through the file that Mother gave her.@@novelbin@@

I turned to Mother who had already handed over the coins the Marchioness gave her to Mary, the Trasif maid receiving them with a low bow.

"Mommy? Why are there more bandits around here?" I asked, curious about the answer myself.

"Ufufufu~ There's no need for my little one to be worried about~ We will take care of them~"

"I just want to know the reason though?"

"Ara, ara~ My little one is curious it seems~ Ufufufu~ Very well, Mary?"

The Trasif maid immediately pulled out another folder out of thin air before handing it to me.

Seems like she already expected that I would also ask for one I guess?

Taking the folder from her, I flipped it open and started to read through its contents.

Hmm… Hmm… I see…

So apparently someone had been going around wiping out bandit groups in this area which made the remaining bandit groups nervous.

Normally the different bandit groups don't get along with each other but for the sake of survival, they decided to band together to increase their chances of survival.

But obviously that meant that multiple bandit leaders in one place wasn't exactly a good thing since all of them didn't want to give up their positions of authority.

That's why apparently there was infighting within the bandit groups and some bandit leaders might try to get members on their side by getting some achievements.

So from what they found, this attack was orchestrated by one of the bandit leaders who managed to convince quite a number of the bandits to join him on this venture.

The report even indicated that the bandit leader had believed that this attack would bring him enough influence to also unite the other bandit groups in the region and the bandits that joined this attack only cooperated because he had told them they could split the loot evenly with him.

Normally, bandit leaders would take the bulk of the loot and leave only ten or twenty percent to be shared with the rest so this was a big deal for them.

Obviously, things didn't work out for the bandits because they weren't expecting us to be there but also because they weren't prepared for the fierce resistance that the Mercenaries put up.

The guy had been so used to dealing with ambushing individual travellers but this was their first time ambushing a camped group.

He thought that it would be easier for them to attack a camped group since we should have our guards down and the defenders would be too scattered to defend against their assault.

Thus, I suppose it was pretty ironic that it did not turn out the way they imagined it to.

Unerolia closed the folder and massaged her temples with her hands, "Ugh… Who are the idiots that are going around doing this? We've already been cleaning them up one by one and now they've driven them to form into a large group… This is going to be so much more troublesome than when they were individual groups!"

I turned to her, "Eh? Isn't this a good thing though? Now they are all gathered in one place so we can just go there and wipe them all out together?"

Unerolia let out a sigh before her face turned serious, "The amount of people needed to attack a base like that and prevent them from scattering to form new bandit groups again… Do you know the number required for that?"

I tilted my head, "Umm… I mean… There's no need to do it now, right? We could just mark them and then send people afterwards right?"

She shook her head, "With such a big failure of an assault, they definitely wouldn't be staying put. They would want to get out of here as quickly as possible. If we want to get rid of them, we will need to attack them right now. Otherwise, they might scatter and reform into more bandit groups afterwards."

Oh…

I turned to Mother and she probably understood what I wanted and gave me a smile before turning to Unerolia.

"Ufufufu~ Would you like to hire us to get rid of that problem for you?"

Unerolia narrowed her eyes at Mother, "You're going to charge me an exorbitant amount of money just for that, right?"

"Ufufufu~ You will have to ask my little one that question~"

The Marchioness spun to face me with wide eyes, "Eh?! Is Aster also going to do this alone?!"

I scratched my cheek, "Well… Not exactly…"

She opened her mouth before shutting it and her expression shifted to one of realisation.

"Oh… I remember now… You had that clone artefact don't you? Does that mean you are able to clone yourself even more than that?!"

I scratched my cheek, "Umm… There's a limit to the number of clones I can bring out…"

That was technically the truth since the number was limited to the number of Shadow Guards I have.

Unerolia suddenly got excited, "In that case, let's go! I will go with you, Aster!"

Err… To be honest, I had thought about dealing with the bandit group myself since I am able to call out as many Shadow Guards as I need to deal with the bandits.

Of course, I was also expecting Katsuki and maybe the other maids that I was sure were hanging around to follow along or at least support me during my raid.

If you were wondering why I wanted to involve myself in this matter even though I could just leave it for other people to deal with… It's because I have a nagging feeling that another Off-Worlder was either involved in this or had caused this.

I mean… What other reason would there be for such big changes to occur, right? Pretty much all the incidents that I've found here so far have been tied to Off-Worlders in general.

So for all I know, either one of the bandit leaders was an Off-Worlder… Or the one hunting down bandits all around this place was.

Of course, the other reason I had was… These people were just another way I could train my magic and skills, which was actually the main reason~

But yeah… I wasn't really in favour of anyone else following along since I didn't want to have to explain about my Shadow Guards again or have more witnesses around to see it, not considering those that were going to die soon of course.

I was thinking about how I should turn down the Marhcioness's offer for help diplomatically when Mother came to my rescue once again.

"Ara? I'm afraid that you aren't going to be leaving this camp anytime soon, little Une~"

She turned to look at Mother in shock, "Eh?! Why not?! I'll just go there right now with Aster and then we'll come back after we're done! That's fine right?"

"Ufufufu~ That's not the reason~ Now I think I need to do a little bit of questioning why you have a bandit problem in your own territory that is just barely a day's march away from the city you're governing? That sounds like a negligence of duty to me~"

"Ah… Ah, I have a good reason for that!"

"Ufufufu~ In that case, you can come to my tent right now and tell me all about it~ For now, I suppose I'll let my little one decide what the price of her help is?"

Mother tilted her head slightly in my direction and I understood she was passing the conversation back to me.

"Err… I don't need any pay-- Ahem… I mean… I guess I'll just take maybe ten Creas for this? That's good enough for me."

Like I said, I had other reasons for wanting to do this so I don't really care if I get paid or not. But I guess if I said I don't need anything, she would still insist on it anyway.

Unerolia immediately stretched out her hand towards me, "Alright! That's a deal!"

I shook on it and the Marchioness was just standing there looking proud of herself when Mother grabbed her by the back of her collar and pulled her away from me.

"Ok now~ Let's go little Une~ Tell me the reason why this is happening, hmm?"

"Waaahhh!! Wait, wait! There's no need for this, Madam Nilm! Please don't spank me agaaaaiiiinnn!!"

I watched them go before turning to Katsuki who had been standing beside me the entire time.

"Ahem… So… Do we have the location of those bandits?"

"We do, Mistress," She answered me immediately.

Mary then wordlessly handed over a scroll to her which she then handed over to me.

The fact that Mary didn't just pass it directly to me but passed it to Katsuki first was something that I obviously noticed.

I unrolled the scroll and it revealed itself to be a map of the area and there were actually quite a number of markings on the map so I got confused over what this was for.

Katsuki simply pointed at one of the red circles that was about a few miles east of our location.

"This is the one, Mistress."

Ok, wait… If the red circle means there's bandit camps there…

Oh my god… There's at least twenty more all scattered around along our route…

Why are there so many bandits?!!
