What Do You Mean There Are Other Transmigrators In My Harem Fantasy?

Chapter 956 Where Is Their Boss?

First thing we needed was to make sure those prisoners were secured. There wouldn't be a point in doing all this if they all end up dead at the end after all.

I left that to Katsuki while I went to deal with the Kalomancer that was controlling the beasts.

At first she wanted to come along as well but I told her that she could join me after she had secured the prisoners so that I didn't need to worry about them which managed to convince her to take care of that instead.

If Katsuki was right about them being an Off-Worlder, then it might be a little troublesome to deal with since they would probably have given themselves cheat abilities.

That's why there was now a small change of plans where I would deal with the Off-Worlder and distract them as well as cause as much chaos as I could to divert attention to my side.

While that was happening, Katsuki would sneak out of here using the tunnels we had used to get here with the prisoners.

Then once they had evacuated, I would then try and destroy the rest of the fort before making a run for it as well.

Still, I'm kind of hoping I can capture them alive and then make them teach me how to learn Kalomancy though.

Of course, if it reached the point where I have to kill the Off-Worlder, then I would not hesitate to do so either.

I covered myself with [Shadow Wall] again and stuck to the shadows, looking for the Off-Worlder by scanning each bandit I came across that looked important with [Screened].

Unfortunately, Katsuki only knew about the supposed Kalomancer from listening to the bandits talking about it amongst themselves with her superhuman hearing. I wasn't able to do that so I had to creep closer to bandits whom I thought were discussing about it.

Eventually, I managed to get close to two male bandits leaning against the wall in an alleyway talking to each other in hushed tones.

"So what do you think?"

"About what?"

"The boss of course."

"Do you mean our boss or The Boss?"

"The big one, duh."

"I mean… Not like we've seen him before aside from him existing right? I heard his identity is supposedly some kind of big secret."

"What about that other guy? The one that is supposedly his speaker?"

"Don't trust him. But since we're getting benefits from this, I don't really care as long as I can still line my pockets with Creas."

"Oh, you know what I think? I think that maybe the supposed Boss doesn't exist at all and he's just making someone imaginary to take the head position so that if something goes wrong, we'll blame the invisible leader instead of him."

"Oh no, he does exist. Remember the raid that happened to the east of Dufranal Market? I saw the supposed Boss there." Discover more stories at My Virtual Library Empire

"Ah, I wasn't there for that one. What did he look like?"

"Yeah… That's the thing though. He was wearing a hooded cloak and even a mask that covered his face so I never got to see what he looked like. The only thing I know is that he looked rather big in size and was definitely a male. The size definitely meant that it couldn't be the speaker guy though."

"Are you even sure it's him?"

"He literally summoned monsters out of thin air so yes, I believe it was him."

"Hmph… Yet now all he does is hide in that little house of his. The only reason we know that he's still in there is the fact that tamed monsters keep coming out from there."

As I was just about to move closer to the two of them, another bandit appeared from around the corner and spotted the duo and immediately went towards them.

"Hey?! What are the two of you doing? You're not conspiring behind the Boss's back are you?"

The two bandits jumped in surprise and quickly waved their hands in denial.

"We're not damnit!"

"Leave us alone!"

The newcomer scowled at them, "Sure… Don't think that I don't know the both of you are from the Grat Bandits. Your leader went against us and was so stubborn in refusing to join us. I bet he's planning to revel, isn't he?"

"Dude, we're just slacking off here, relax man."

"Tell that to the disciplinary officer! Both of you are coming with me!"

"Wait! Not them! Please, no!"

The two of them ran off in different directions, causing the other bandit to stand there looking surprised before starting to chase after one of them.

Alright… So basically this leader guy hasn't been showing his face and has been cooped up inside his house for a long time… And then all these bandits are most likely from different groups that were brought together but it doesn't seem like they were fully integrated with each other yet.

I bet the old leaders of those groups might be harboring thoughts about overthrowing the current leadership and were just biding their time to look for an opportunity to do so.

The only thing that might be holding them back was the fact that the beasts and monsters were controlled by the leader so they can't go against him directly.

Then there's the so-called speaker person too. Why is he using a mouthpiece instead of communicating with the group directly? And why does this guy need to hide himself with the mask and cloak? Is he trying to hide the fact that he is an Off-Worlder?

Hmm… I could definitely play that to my advantage…

First things first though, I need to find the house where the monsters are supposedly coming out of.

I kept to the shadows and avoided the patrols to look for such a building that might fit the description.

The problem was that there were basically monsters and beasts all around and I'm not sure which ones were patrolling around and which ones were newly summoned.

That's assuming that the guy was still summoning more right now, that is.

But at least I had a clue now on what I should be looking out for so-- Wait… I just saw one of those bipedal lizard mounts walk out from the big house at the far end and close the door behind it before walking off!

Ok, first of all… Those things can open doors on their own?!

Secondly… Could that be the one that I'm looking for?

Guess only one way to find out then.

I moved through the alleys and continued to stick to the shadows, making use of both my [Shadow Wall] and [Shadow Glide] to sneak through the fort.

I managed to reach the building without anyone catching me, though I later learned it was mostly because most of them were busy dealing with the new haul they brought in so there were less people out walking around than usual.

Still, there were a group of four guards that were watching the main entrance of the building, all of them seated at a table just a short distance away and watching the door really carefully.

The space in front of the door was also completely flat, leaving no place for anyone or anything to hide their approach and exit from the door.

Going around the building, I tried to look for a way in but it seems like it was completely secured with only one main entrance. Heck, there weren't even any windows or an exit on the roof, almost like the person staying here is determined not to let anyone go in without being spotted.

Still, there were monsters and beasts that were continuously coming out from the main entrance of the building, which I realised was intentionally made quite large to accommodate the larger sized beasts.

An idea then came to me on how I could enter the building without alerting the guards.

I positioned myself a distance away from the building but in line of sight of the door.

I waited there patiently until the door opened once more for another of those bipedal lizards to walk out from the building.

I immediately used [Link Portal] to target the place within the house and placed the entrance directly beside me.

Right before the door closed, I stepped through the portal and leapt out into the entrance hall of the building, closing the portal shut behind me and ready to fight in case there were more guards inside.

Thankfully, there weren't any guards inside the building and it seems like everything was quiet.

One of the first things I noted was the fact that there was pretty much nothing inside the building despite its size.

The building looked like a two story building on the outside yet what I got was a large empty hall with no walls and only a single ramp leading down into the ground.

Ah… Of course there's a secret place underground, why was I expecting anything else?

Guess it's time to go down into the underground then…
