Chapter 375

Chapter 375: Chapter 283 Fairy Hole Chapter 375: Chapter 283 Fairy Hole The Fairy Hole is essentially the lifeline for the existence of the Fairy Kingdom.

Though fairies are creatures of the Path, they do not wish to live in the Dream Realm.

Instead, they prefer to dwell near other intelligent beings.

As Transcendents describe fairies—our benevolent neighbors.

Fairies always like to be neighbors with other creatures.

But they are capricious as well…

Fairies enjoy bothering people but hate to be bothered themselves.

...

They’re like mischievous pet cats that only come to you when they wish; you mustn’t seek them out.

Therefore, fairies usually reside in the Fairy Kingdom.

This place is a rift between reality and the Dream Realm, fashioned by the fairies’ incredible power of wish fulfillment—a realm of illusion with one channel linking to the Fantasy Territory of the Path of Beauty, and six other channels representing light, darkness, wind, earth, water, and fire, connecting to six regions in the Material Realm to maintain the elemental balance of the Fairy Kingdom.

These six channels can be changed, but they generally need to be laid in areas where the corresponding elemental strength is intense.

Aiwass knew the location of the Fairy Holes for wind, water, light, and darkness attributes—three of which had become instances.

Fairy instances are somewhat joyous in nature.

Since fairies aren’t afraid of death, their instance mechanism is like playing a game…

in fact, it truly is just for fun.

For example, standing on different colored tiles, then you need to stop on the designated tile when the spinner stops, or else a tornado will sweep you up and then drop you, half dead;

Or it can be surfing in a rapids adventure-like setting, moving left and right to dodge dangerous obstacles, or jumping up layer by layer in boiling water that gradually rises—if you carelessly fall, you’ll be scalded half to death.

This is a classic fairy instance, reflecting the personality of fairies.

Plus, the background music is cheerful, creating a festive atmosphere.

Sometimes when Aiwass is bored with grinding instances, he would grab a few available girls from his friends list to join him in a voice-connected game.

There is laughter, screams, and quite a bit of fun.

But until version 6.0, no one had discovered where the earth and fire attribute Fairy Holes were located.

Now, half of this mystery has been unveiled.

Next to the Fairy Hole of the corresponding attribute, using a spell of that attribute might “trigger a mechanism” to open the door.

There are many such prohibitions, and a mage can open the mechanisms of all four elemental series.

These magical beasts and undead living in the marsh must have discovered the incessant outflow of power here…

So they instinctively congregated, becoming in a sense the pets of the fairies, or rather, gatekeeping dogs.

The energy of the Path of Beauty that permeates them is why Aiwass can gain extra experience by killing them.

It was precisely because the Mud Corpse Turtle was stuck here that Sherlock, during his first spellcasting, mistook the sensation of delay he felt as the turtle’s interference with the spell.

It now seems, although this swamp probably has no direct connection with the chaotic temporal sequence and copious undead of Eagle Cape Village.

It could very well be the reason why Eagle Cape Village can’t be seen from the outside world!

—Even though there isn’t a single fairy here, this place can indeed be considered Fairyland.

The barrier here really was set up by fairies…

even if it was to protect the Fairy Hole.

It’s just unknown whether the villagers of Eagle Cape moved here first and then the fairies chose this place…

or the fairies chose it first, and then a group of people discovered the anomalies and moved in.

If Aiwass were fully equipped, he would actually be quite eager to jump in for an adventure.

If he could pass the fairies’ test, he would gain their friendship—and fairies are very generous to their friends.

Not only can you call for help in danger, but their gifts are also valuable treasures.

For instance, legendary Fairy’s Paintings or Fairy’s Musical Scores.

There’s also rare Transcendent materials, or equipment that looks quite stylish.

Isabel’s favorite opera “Lulu’s Magic Flute” was composed by a fairy named Lulu.

The coolest part is, if a fairy enjoys your company but doesn’t really have anything to give, they’ll cheerfully present themselves as a gift—translated into the game, that means dropping a pet; in reality, it’s a summonable entity capable of acting as a cross-dimensional messenger.

When they give a gift, they truly give.

It really makes me want to cry.

When Isabel was advancing to the fifth Energy Level, one of the attractive advanced professions was related to fairies.

Before then, it would be best if Aiwass could bring her here for a visit.

But if you try to pass through the Fairy Hole without the fairies’ permission and without having gained their friendship, you’re an invader…

Gaining the fairies’ recognition is extremely difficult, and also a huge time sink.

Aiwass could only tentatively take note of this place—for now, the Fairy Hole should be the secret of this marshland.

But it also meant that the anomaly here was not directly related to the dusk power of the village.

Having heard Aiwass’s explanation of the Fairy Hole, Sherlock also felt his knowledge had increased.

—Where on earth did this crafty fox learn such secret information?

Sherlock thought he read quite a lot usually.

But compared to Aiwass, he was still far behind.

“At least we’ve eliminated one wrong answer,”

Sherlock said softly, “If we’re sure that the swamp has nothing to do with the village’s anomaly…

we should part ways now.”

He moved his fingers, following Aiwass’s command to cast an earth attribute spell once again.

While nearly depleting his earth attribute mana, he once again caused the hole to spew out a large amount of mud, refilling the swamp.

“Let’s go.”@@novelbin@@

Aiwass and Sherlock exchanged glances and then retraced their steps.

The surrounding mist began to rise again, but the undead had not reappeared.

Aiwass needed to conserve a bit of mana…

After the situation here was resolved, he’d return to this place and fiercely farm for experience!

But even with just a few days of exploration, they had discovered a world boss that could at least reach level 60 in the future and an entrance to the Fairy Kingdom in Eagle Cape Village.

—Aside from that, there were also the Book of Law that Aiwass learned about through Mrs.

Mina’s prophecy, as well as his grandfather’s legacy.

“I must say, your family’s place is full of good stuff,”

Aiwass said to Hayna with admiration, “It’s just a bit dangerous—much more dangerous than Glass Island.”

Hayna was also beginning to question her life, “Is this really the childhood home I remember…”

It felt completely different from her experiences as a child.

It was just a countryside with nice scenery…

How come when she came back home after growing up, everything had become so dangerous and breathtakingly thrilling.

Until the time they parted, Hayna still hadn’t figured it out.

Their exploration seemed not to have taken much time.

Time hadn’t “fast forwarded” this time; it was more or less the actual time they spent—just over an hour.

Aiwass checked his pocket watch and found it was still not nine o’clock in the morning.

“Shall we go take a bath in the creek?”

He asked Lily.

They now had a strong swamp odor on them.

Although their noses were almost adapted to it, if they went directly to the villagers, they would likely be immediately detected.

Lily shook her head, “Let’s just tidy up a bit…

I’m afraid time will suddenly slip away again.”

“Indeed.”

Aiwass nodded.

So Aiwass used the Fire Rite Skill to purify the heavy swamp smell from his body, and then used a ritual to cleanse Lily’s body as well.

After making their bodies clean again, they followed the direction Hayna had previously given and found the house of the village elder.

Although these villagers did not have names, they had “positions” and “identities.”

According to Hayna, there were three village elders in Eagle Cape Village.

One was a country gentleman—not very rich or genteel in Aiwass’s opinion; another was the priest of this place.

And the last one was Aiwass’s deceased grandfather.
