There was only silence that lingered in the air after the demonic creature fell to the ground like this.

The Kunlun Sect group could only look at the demonic creature with looks of shock and disbelief, as if they couldn't process what had happened. They didn't think that such a powerful creature that they carefully nourished would fall just like this.

But once they came back to their senses, they moved forward to check on the demonic creature.

However, they seemed to move slowly as they approached. It seemed that they were still afraid of it even though the demonic creature wasn't even moving as it laid there on the ground.

The Kunlun Sect group had felt that pressure coming from the demonic creature earlier when it first appeared, so they knew just how powerful it was. It only made sense that they were careful towards it since they were weaker than it.

But that didn't matter as the demonic creature was completely dead.

Even when they arrived beside the demonic creature and started poking it, there was no reaction at all from the demonic creature. They even tried taking the pulse of the demonic creature or sending their spiritual energy into it, but there really was no response at all from the demonic creature.

It really was completely dead.

"Just what is happening here?" The Kunlun Sect group all said in shocked voices as they looked at the demonic creature.

After checking it, they could tell that whatever had killed the demonic creature had come from the inside.

The red spot that was on the chest of the demonic creature was blood that had gathered under the skin. This red spot that had formed was the blood from its organs bursting out and gathering under its skin.

It was as if there was something that had caused it to explode from the inside out with the way that the blood gathered under the skin.

But the Kunlun Sect group just couldn't understand what happened.

They couldn't think of a single thing that could do such a thing to the powerful demonic creature.

However, it wasn't as if there was anything that they could do now that the demonic creature was dead. This demonic creature that represented their plans had been destroyed, so all that was left for them was death if they returned to the Kunlun Sect empty handed.

Once the despair of their situation sank in, they started trying to find anything that would allow them to escape this situation. They were desperately thinking about a way to save their own skin.

After thinking like this for a bit, they suddenly turned back to look at Ye Qing Huan and Lin Fan.

The look in their eyes was as if there was some kind of plan formulating inside of their brains. It seemed like they were slowly figuring out a way to handle this situation with the way that their expressions changed.

"It was you! You must have done something to it!" The leader of the Kunlun Sect said while pointing his finger at Ye Qing Huan and Lin Fan.

As soon as he said this, the other Kunlun Sect outer sect disciples also started pointing their fingers at them and backing their leader up. All of them placed all of the blame of this matter on Ye Qing Huan and Lin Fan.

It seemed that they were planning on denying all involvement in the death of the demonic creature to the very end.

But that wasn't the only thing that they were planning to do.

"Come back with us willingly and we'll make sure that you get light punishments. If you stay here, do you think that you'll be able to escape the wrath of the Ye Family?"

Though what he said sounded like he was trying to help them, it was clear that he wasn't actually trying to help them. Rather, he was trying to trick them into following them back to the Kunlun Sect.@@novelbin@@

What the outer sect disciples of the Kunlun Sect needed now was a scapegoat to take the punishment for them.

The ones that they wanted to set up were Ye Qing Huan and Lin Fan.

If they could take them back to the Kunlun Sect and blame everything on them, then they might be able to escape being punished by the fourth elder.

It was just that Ye Qing Huan didn't feel threatened by what they said at all. Instead of feeling afraid because of their words, she even seemed to find what they said funny as she suddenly started to laugh.

"What are you laughing at?" The leader of the Kunlun Sect group asked through gritted teeth.

The other members of the Kunlun Sect group also seemed like they were angered because of Ye Qing Huan's laughing.

That was because they could tell that she was laughing at them.

She wasn't laughing because of desperation, but actually laughing at them like she was making fun of them.

In this stressed situation, this was the fuse that lit the powder keg and they completely lost control of themselves. Their anger boiled out in a way that they suddenly pulled out their weapons and released their spiritual energy.

It was as if they didn't care about being caught by the Ye Family or anyone else that was up there. It seemed like the only thing that they cared about now was taking care of Ye Qing Huan and showing her a lesson.

But it wasn't as if they had completely lost their anger.

They knew that they were short on time, so they knew that they had no choice but to use force if they wanted to take these two with them. They had to subdue them with force and then bring them back to the Kunlun Sect if they wanted any chance of survival.

But they never got the chance to use force.

They found that there was this strange force that suddenly covered their weapons. It was a force that was pulling the weapons down, pulling them out of their hands.

With the way that it pulled down, it was almost as if the effects of gravity had increased on their weapons. It took all they had to just hold their weapons, but that force was also growing stronger and it seemed like it wasn't stopping.

Finally, they had no choice but to let go of their weapons to avoid being dragged into the ground with them.

While they had been distracted by this strange force that suddenly appeared on their weapons, they didn't notice the others that had suddenly appeared around them. They had only been focused on Ye Qing Huan and Lin Fan since they wanted to subdue them to bring back with them that they didn't notice that they were completely surrounded.

It wasn't that they were just surrounded, there were even weapons that were pointed at their necks.

They couldn't make a single move without being killed.

"What is the meaning of this? Did you betray our Kunlun Sect?" The leader of the Kunlun Sect group made sure to stress that he was from the Kunlun Sect.

But these words showed that he and the Kunlun Sect group still had no idea what was really happening here.

It showed that they didn't understand the predicament that they were currently in.

"Did you really think that you would be able to do all this without the Ye Family finding out?" Ye Qing Huan asked in a slow and deliberate voice.

The leader of the Kunlun Sect group deeply knitted his brows before saying, "You're from the Ye Family?"

Ye Qing Huan didn't care about what he said as she continued by saying, "The only reason that you were allowed to do any of this was because of evidence. If it wasn't for that, then we wouldn't have let any of this happen."

There seemed to be a trace of regret that was in her voice and she looked up slightly in the latter half of her words. But that trace of regret only remained in her voice for a few seconds before she gathered herself.

Looking at the Kunlun Sect group, she said, "You only have two choices right now. You can either surrender and work with us or you can die."

"You think that you can get away with messing with the Kunlun Sect, if you don't let us…"

"Do you really think that the Kunlun Sect will even try to save you? Now that you've failed, you're nothing more than liabilities that they will try to silence. We have all the evidence that we need with the corpse of this demonic creature and all of the rat corpses, so it'll be easy for us to expose the Kunlun Sect for everything. That was the reason why we even went through this charade in the first place."

Ye Qing Huan's voice was so cold that it sent chills down the spines of the Kunlun Sect group.

"Then what do you want from us?" The leader of the Kunlun Sect group asked in a shaky voice.

"It's very simple, we're giving you a chance to survive. If you speak up about what the Kunlun Sect did, we will offer you protection. If you don't say anything, we won't even have to do anything as the Kunlun Sect will silence you themselves." Ye Qing Huan said in a casual tone before suddenly narrowing her eyes to say, "I hope that you make the wrong choice so I can make you suffer for everything that you've done."

The Kunlun Sect group gave a collective gulp when they heard this before promptly surrendering.

"Tch, take them away." Ye Qing Huan said in a disappointed voice.
