Chapter 1062: Versus five dungeon cores (1)
"How could this be happening?"
That was the only reaction that the five dungeon cores could have when they watched everything that happened in front of them.
When they made this challenge, this was the last thing that they expected to see.
There was no way that they expected this kind of result.
After all, they had never seen this kind of a dungeon battle before.
…
"What is our first move?" Rokuko asked in an excited voice.
Lin Fan couldn't help shaking my head with a faint smile when he saw her like this. It seemed that she was almost excited about this, almost as if she was treating this as if it was some kind of game.
Though that didn't mean that this was a bad thing. After all, if she could be this relaxed, it meant that her faith in Lin Fan was quite high.
It seemed that she wasn't worried about losing at all.
But then again, it wasn't as if Lin Fan thought that they would lose either.
He had already come up with a plan to deal with the five dungeon cores and after seeing the battlefield that they chose, he was even more confident in dealing with them.
As long as nothing unexpected happened, it would be very unlikely that they would be able to do anything to them.
Lin Fan had already prepared the best troops to deal with them.
Only he felt a bit awkward since he didn't know how to say this to Rokuko.
Since she was the one that would be in the most danger, he had already arranged a place for her. It was a place that would be completely safe, so there wouldn't actually be anything for her to do.
That was why it was awkward for him to say this.
It was hard for him to put a damper on the enthusiasm that she showed.
It even made him feel a bit like he was doing something wrong.
But in the end, he just couldn't let her charge out either since that would be the worst possible thing that could happen.
"Is there really nothing that I can do at all?" Rokuko asked in a sad voice after Lin Fan explained things to her.
Lin Fan had another awkward look on his face when he heard this.
At the same time, he could hear someone cursing at him from the audience stand. Even though they shouldn't have been able to do this, it seemed like she would spare no expense just to curse him out like this.
In the end, Lin Fan just said with an awkward smile, "You can control a few of the monsters that are scouting, but other than that…"
His voice awkwardly trailed off at the end.
Rokuko didn't say anything at first, but then she gave a slow nod to show her understanding. Even though she looked disappointed that this was all that Lin Fan had prepared for her, she knew that this was for the best.
After all, she was the one that was the dungeon core.
That meant that she would be the target of the enemy dungeon cores.
The dungeon battle was between dungeon cores, so it was only natural that dungeon cores would be the targets in this battle.
That meant that as long as Rokuko was safe, they would still be in the battle.
As for the other side, they chose to make one of the five of them a target.
So that was the one to target.
After convincing Rokuko, Lin Fan didn't waste any time in executing the plan.
The dungeon battle had already started, so there was no time to waste. The first thing that they had to do was find the base of the enemy dungeon cores.
During the selection phase of the dungeon battle, Lin Fan had yielded the choice of the map for the battle to the enemy.
They had been surprised by how easily he had yielded this choice and even felt that there was some kind of trap, but they weren't able to find anything wrong with it as they got the map that they wanted.
In the end, they had to yield the choice for DP limit, but that wasn't something that they were worried about.
After all, the DP limit was only limited to the monsters that could be summoned. As long as one had strong enough hero units that didn't cost any DP, it wouldn't be a problem.
All five of these dungeon cores had powerful hero units, so they felt that the DP limit was just a suggestion to them. They weren't worried if they were limited by DP since they knew that their enemy would be under the same restrictions.
But Lin Fan had done this on purpose.
He already knew which hero units these dungeon cores had, which was why he was fine with them having the map advantage. He just needed to limit the number of DP that they had so they couldn't stop him from exploiting that weakness.
At the same time, the map choice that they made was something that actually hurt them.
They thought that by having this map that combined the best attributes for them, it would give them the best place to fight. Unfortunately, since the attributes that they possessed went against each other, this couldn't be further from the truth.
It would actually harm them to combine these together.
After scouting out the area, Lin Fan said to himself, "It's time to begin."
After that, he gave the orders to his troops.
The troops that Lin Fan summoned were all simple troops. There weren't any troops that cost above a certain amount of DP among the ones that he sent out.
These were all beginner monsters that would have only been summoned by a new dungeon core, but these were the ones that Lin Fan chose to summon. That was because these monsters were the only ones that he needed.
"The first team has found the enemy. As expected, they really did send that. Then in that case, this will be easy." A faint smile appeared on Lin Fan's face when he saw the report that came in.
Turning to the monsters behind him, Lin Fan asked, "Are you ready?"
The monsters all bounced up and down in response to this to show that they were ready since they couldn't actually say anything.
Instead of looking threatening, it even seemed a bit cute which made Lin Fan reveal a faint smile. But in the end, he still sent them off to deal with the first enemy that had been sent out as a scout and a vanguard.
…
"What a waste of time this is. There's no need for me to personally come out for this." This was the tone that the dragonkin had as he walked through the lava.
Even though he was walking through the lava, it was almost as if he was walking through water with how it didn't bother him at all. The heat from the lava was melting parts of the surrounding rock, but this dragonkin's thick skin was more than enough to keep out that heat.
But that didn't stop him from complaining.
After all, this dragonkin was one of the right hand men of one of the five dungeon cores.
Someone of his level was not someone that should have been sent out first like this.
Yet here he was leading the way as the scout and vanguard.
It was all because they wanted to end this quickly that they sent him out, but that caused him to feel like he was being used as a disposable pawn.
Still, the dragonkin didn't hesitate as he continued forward, looking for the enemy.
It was only by taking down the enemy that he would be able to show that he was more than just a disposable pawn. It was only by taking down the enemy that he would be able to show just how powerful he was.
However, because he was arguing the entire time, he didn't notice the things around him until it was too late.
"Drip, drip."
"What is that sound?" The dragonkin asked in a confused voice when he finally heard this sound. But looking around, it didn't seem like he was able to find anything.
That was until he looked up to see that there was something dripping down from above.
There was this rock pillar that was hanging there and it was coming from the bottom of that rock pillar. It was just that when he looked closely, he really couldn't identify what this thing was.
That was until…
"Ah, disgusting!" The dragonkin shouted before releasing his flames at the thing that dropped down on him.
But he was shocked to find that these flames didn't work.
No matter how he turned up the heat of his flames, they just couldn't do a single thing to the things that were dropping on him.
And when he thought about changing up his plan of action, it was already too late to do that. What happened was that the slime that fell down had already fallen on his face and covered it.
The dragonkin tried to rip the slime off himself, but he found that it was too sticky to remove. At the same time, there was more and more slime that fell down on him.
It didn't take long for the dragonkin to be completely surrounded by the slime.
However, that wasn't the thing that shocked him the most.
"What is this?! What is this heat!?" The dragonkin shouted in a muffled voice.
What do you think?
