Chapter 1095: Are You Not Entertained? [Part 1]
The Progenitors watching this scene had already assumed that the young ladies, who were desperately defending the castle, were the lovers of the young man they wished to capture.
And seeing one of them about to die, these powerful beings felt regret, admiration, pity, excitement, and boredom, as well as ridicule, as this outcome had been determined the moment they arrived in Midgard.
But just as the Winged Serpent was about to claim the life of the beauty whom it had set its sights on, a hand appeared at the corner of its eye.
A second later, a scream filled with pain spread in the battlefield as the Winged Serpent's left eye was punctured by the same hand it spotted earlier.
The Progenitors and their armies, as well as the Defenders, momentarily paused in whatever they were doing when they saw this, shifting their attention to the young man whose long blue hair fluttered in the breeze.
His hand was still stuck inside the eye sockets of the Winged Serpent, holding its body in place.
Seeing the young man hover above her, Samantha covered her lips with both hands, and her vision blurred with tears.
For a brief moment, time seemed to have stopped.
Nothing existed but the young man who suddenly appeared out of nowhere, dealing a decisive blow to one of the most powerful creatures who had descended in Midgard.
"Looks like you guys are having a lot of fun," Ethan said to the Winged Serpent, who was now unable to move its body. "Mind if I join?"
The creature who had almost eaten Samantha suddenly squirmed in desperation as it did everything in its power to escape from the young man's hand.
However, the Progenitors who were paying close attention to it suddenly saw the Winged Serpent's body losing all its luster.
Its magnificent scales that initially reflected the light of the sun seemed to cloud, and the powerful life force it had earlier decreased at a rapid rate.
"S-Stop!" shouted the Winged Serpent, who felt that death was near. "Forgive me! I won't do it again!"
"You're right," Ethan replied coldly. "You won't be able to do it again, because there won't be a next time."
Right in front of everyone, the Winged Serpent emitted a blood-curdling roar as its body slowly dried up into a husk, making everyone who saw it shudder in fear.
Ethan then casually tossed the dead body to the side before landing beside Samantha.
He then reached out with his left hand, untainted by the monster's blood, and pulled his lover to his embrace.
"Sorry, I'm late," Ethan said softly, patting the young lady's head.
He then shifted his attention to the Monster Horde that had destroyed several structures in the city, setting them ablaze.
Ethan didn't care much about these structures. He was more concerned about the loss of life of his allies, who had died protecting him to the best of their abilities. The buildings could be rebuilt, but lives couldn't be recovered.
The young man then glanced at the Progenitors, who were looking at him as if he was some kind of tasty prey, with a calm expression on his face.
"Are you not entertained?" Ethan asked, his voice steady yet deadly.
"Yes, we are very entertained," the Six-Armed Demon Lord, Malrith, replied.
The other Progenitors also chuckled, as if agreeing to Malrith's reply.
"Good." Ethan nodded. "Because it's now my turn to get entertained."
The sky soon darkened, and the entire city, as well as its surroundings, found itself covered in darkness.
High above the clouds, a gigantic creature whose size spanned for miles on end appeared.
Its two giant eyes locked on the bodies of the Progenitors, making them feel a threat that they didn't expect after coming to this world, which seemed to be ripe for the picking. "O-Ouroboros!" the four-faced Rullion cried out in fear when it recognized the creature looking down at them from the heavens.
A creature that was said to have been born when the universe was made, and one of the first existences who had come to being.
It existed before worlds were born.
It existed before gods were born.
The only creature senior to it was Light and Darkness, for they were the two things that existed before it.
The symbol of Eternity.
The Draconic Snake who bit its own tail.
And the one whom the Ancients referred to as the Ouroboros.@@novelbin@@
Seeing this massive creature suddenly appear out of nowhere, blocking the sun and casting a dark shadow over the battlefield, stopped everyone from continuing whatever they were
doing.
None of the invaders dared to move because they didn't know which side this colossal creature belonged to.
"Sebastian, Dainsleif, and Areadbhair," Ethan said, making the three of them look in his direction. "Do you see these invaders?"
""Yes.""
Sebastian and Daisleif replied.
Areadbhair, on the other hand, simply blazed brighter as if saying yes as well.
"Well, I don't want to see them," Ethan stated before glancing up at the sky. "You can have the Progenitors, but make sure you don't kill them easily, okay?"
A chuckle sounded inside everyone's minds.
However, to the Progenitors, this chuckle sounded like the rumbling of thunder, making their expressions turn solemn.
"Well, you heard him," Etha's Other Half said to his partner in crime, Sebastian. "Time for us to clean up this place."
"Let's." Sebastian, who was also very angry that the Winged Serpent almost killed Samantha, vented its anger on the invaders, who seemed to have lost their earlier bloodlust.
Now, the only thing they felt was dread, as Ethan's supporters savagely annihilated
everything in their path.
"Kill!" Psoglav, who finally regained his bearings, shouted.
""Kill!""
""Kill!"">
""Kill!""
The monsters who had come to support Leviathan also joined the massacre. This time, their morale was at its highest, forcing the invaders back.
Seeing that they had no way out, those who were near the castle, went all out to charge at Ethan, who was still comforting Samantha, who was still shaken by what had happened
earlier.
But before they could even come close to Ethan, countless portals appeared around him.
The Fairies and the Gargoyles exited the portals in swarms, drowning their enemies in fury. The Progenitors, who knew that they were now facing a dangerous situation, decided to team
up to escape their ordeal.
"Bring down that boy!" Malrith shouted. "Kill him if you have to!"
None of the Progenitors held back and charged in Ethan's direction with the intent to kill.
However, a few seconds later, they found themselves hovering in the same spot they had been less than a moment before, as if they hadn't moved a single muscle.
Although confused, the Progenitors tried once again to attack Ethan.
This time, they didn't move and simply used their strongest ranged abilities to target him
from a distance.
But a few seconds later, their attacks completely disappeared, and they were once again positioned in the exact same spot where they hovered earlier.
"... Time Loop," Rullion said, all of his four faces turning grim from the realization that time
was being rewound repeatedly.
All the other Progenitors looked up at the colossal creature above their heads, who was looking down on them with an amused look in its eyes.
"Didn't he tell you earlier?" the Ouroboros spoke through telepathy, its voice spread out to
the entire battlefield. "It is now our time to be entertained. You guys continue to entertain
me, okay?"
It was then that all the Progenitors realized that their lives were no longer in their hands.
Each and everyone of them started to regret playing around with their prey, allowing the young man to make his appearance and play with their lives as revenge for trying to destroy everything he held sacred in his life.
What do you think?
