Chapter 296 Victor bless, safe travels.
"Governor, you are destroying! Destroying our history!" A voice filled with indignant discontent roared so loudly that even the dust on the roof was shaken loose.@@novelbin@@
A middle-aged man with glasses and thinning hair was shaking his fist in front of Victor!
The students behind him were terrified, their faces pale.
Who could have imagined that this gentlemanly professor who had been so elegant all his life would actually confront a governor?
It's over, it's all over...
We're dead, we're going to die!
The students trembled with fear.
"But if we don't wage war, what history will we have left? Sir, have you considered what would be said about Mexico in history hundreds of years, even thousands of years from now, if there were no Drug War? Just one sentence to summarize this country: a land rich with drugs!" Victor said with furrowed brows and a grave voice.
The professor looked troubled, "We can conduct the battle elsewhere, it doesn't necessarily have to be in the protected area."
"War never chooses its time and place to erupt, but rest assured, I'll make sure my soldiers avoid focusing the battlefield on the protected areas as much as possible."
"Alright, I'll try to keep the battlefield away from the Paquimé archaeological site. Guard Commander, show our guest out."
Joseph Xiafei, standing next to him, placed his hand on the professor's shoulder and raised an eyebrow, "Sir, let's go."
The professor still wanted to speak but was escorted away by two people on either side!
His feet were practically dangling in the air.
The students hurriedly bowed respectfully to Victor and jogged to catch up with their teacher.
Victor could have chosen not to meet with this professor, but the latter was a professor of humanities at the National Autonomous University of Mexico and had been a student of Samuel Ramos, a well-known Mexican thinker.
And this Samuel had a close relationship with Estrada, the former Mexican Foreign Minister of the 1930s, who was also a professor at the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
So...
Naturally, a network of connections formed, and this university indeed had clout; graduates could, at a minimum, hold official positions in many areas.
This is what is called an academic elite.
This group wielded considerable influence across politics, commerce, sports, and more.
Of course, this was not unique but rather a "worldwide elite pattern" shared globally. For instance, in South Korea's largest-scale businesses, 70% of those who can hold presidential positions are graduates of "sky," and 80% of civil servants in the judiciary also come from "sky."
"Sky" represents the acronym for the top three universities overseas: Seoul National University (Seoul National), Korea University (Korea), and Yonsei University (Yonsei).
In South Korea, studying hard can genuinely change one's destiny!
However, the traditional Mexican elite were somewhat "talkative" regarding Victor's rule and liked to criticize his guidelines.
Victor did not indulge them. What is Mexico missing if not another university?
Academic elite, but are they more impressive than military warlords?
"General, are we really going to move the battlefield?" Kennedy and the others who had been listening on the side couldn't help but ask after the others left.
If they moved, the workload would be massive...
Horatio Herbert Kitchener and others beside him were equally tense.
"Move? Hell no!"
Victor waved his hand dismissively, "There's no sense in stopping halfway through childbirth. If we destroy it, we'll just bury some drug traffickers in there and claim they were prehistoric humans unearthed by the explosion."
"In the North, there is nothing that requires us to yield," Victor said, pointing at the sand table.
It's just historical relics, isn't it?
Watch me build you one. Isn't something from last week an antique, too?

"Proceed according to the original plan!"
"Yes, sir!"
The area of Grand Casas about 60 kilometers to the east of the Paquimé archaeological site in Sonora State!
Approximately 350 kilometers northwest of Chihuahua State and only half a kilometer away from the nearest Grand Casas.
The command post for the 1st Division was here, bustling with soldiers scurrying about.
Siegmut List, the division commander, stared intently at the map on the wall.
He had been directly promoted to this position, commanding five regiments, nearly 25,000 men. If he didn't show impressive results, the other regimental commanders surely wouldn't respect him.
"I want all the division's artillery to bombard Casa de Janos city!"
"Order the 9th Regiment to take their designated positions, and after the artillery strike, capture it!!"
Staff officers behind him diligently took notes.
"Tell them, as the 1st Marine Division, the card up our sleeve, we must fight the most glorious battle!"
Siegmut List was a "caliberist," believing that firepower could cure all.
After assuming command of the 1st Division, his first order was to assemble all the division's artillery into an Artillery Group.
The U.S. Military infantry division usually is equipped with 171 guns, including M109 self-propelled howitzers, M270 rocket launchers, 107 mm heavy mortars, and 90 mm recoilless rifles, among others.
The Russian Army infantry division, in contrast, was equipped with 108 guns.
But Victor was truly generous, drawing out a total of 316 various types of artillery for a single division.
Bear in mind that the Soviet Army infantry division at the start of World War II had been outfitted with 279 guns, including cannons, howitzers, anti-tank guns, and anti-aircraft guns.
Victor was the most significant proponent of "firepower doctrine."
Twenty kilometers west of the front-line archaeological site on a barren desert, artillery pieces were dragged into position.
"Get into position!"
"Adjust parameters!"
"Ammo ready!!"
...
Artillery Group gunners were busy, and in the distant woods, many were crouched.
Ye Jihuan clutched an M249 machine gun, wearing a psCore helmet, interceptor body armor, and sunglasses, looking like a bona fide member of the U.S. Military from the outside!
Check out that gear!
Victor was sincerely conscientious, providing almost a standard set for every soldier; just the psCore helmet alone cost 1,000 points, with the body armor and such totaling a value of approximately 3,200 points per person.
What do you think?
