Prologue: New Age

But when humanity almost lost their hope to survive because of the incurable illness that suddenly spread out rapidly all over the world, a star from the sky had fallen on Encantadia and opened the gate of the 'Abyss'.

From that giant bottomless pit made by that star, black smoke rose like the smoke from a gigantic furnace as the sun and the sky was darkened by that smoke.

Thereupon, portals that connected to the 'Other World' subsequently appeared on different parts of Encantadia.

A great number of Otherworldly Monster Beasts came out from that abyss as well as from the portals that appeared in all parts of Encantadia. They swarmed the whole world as they run amok everywhere and destroyed everything they could see. Countless people were slaughtered mercilessly by those monsters.

They run and they hide out of fear but some of them didn't struggle at all. They had completely lost their hope to live and were only waiting for their death. 

As they watched their kin getting killed one after another by those beasts, they suddenly felt a familiar feeling on their body. It was the feeling when the illness was going wild!

But that time, it was different.

Whenever the illness reacted, they could only feel a burning pain inside their chest or head. But that moment, they felt it throughout their body as if they were burning alive.

They wished for themselves to die already but it was as if death was fleeing from them. They longed to die and tried to feed themselves to the beasts but death elude them. After a long while of suffering, the burning pain stopped. And all of a sudden, they felt so full of energy all over their body as if they could do everything.

Unexpectedly, they all had awakened a power that enabled them to fight and hunt the beasts!

The illness that they deemed as a curse for a very long time, became a blessing to them.

Some gained superhuman strengths, others had acquired elemental prowess, some were blessed by great wisdom, some were able to command and control the beasts, and many other peculiar abilities.

Once more, their hope lit up.

The agony that they had suffered for a very long time, the sorrow and pain they felt while they helplessly watched their loved ones being slaughtered one by one, ignited their hearts with rage and hatred. With the help of the power they just awakened, they fought back from the beasts. As they fought back and as the battle went on they felt that they were getting stronger and stronger.

They fought and they fought until the last drop of their sweat and blood.

The battle lasted for more than three years for them to annihilate every single beast in the face of the world. But even after all the beasts were all been exterminated the portals and the bottomless pit of where the beasts came out still remained, lying silently all over.

So they still felt uneasy.

A large group of strong people who had awakened their power entered some of the portals. When they came out from the portals they entered, it disappeared without a trace.

They had learned that killing the king or the leader of the beasts in each portal would make it completely vanish. So humanities formed a large number of groups of people to clear out every single portal all over the world.

And those people called themselves "Hunters!"

They learned that not all the portals were the same. Some had strong beasts residing inside but some were not even worth mentioning. So they studied and learned the difficulties of each portal. 

All portals were spherical in shape, and each of its kind had different colors: white, gray, green, blue, purple, orange, red, and black where white was the easiest and black was the hardest.

Moreover, their size was not all the same. The smaller the size of the portal the fewer the beasts residing inside. The bigger the portal the more beasts would reside. Furthermore, the strength of the beasts in each portal still varied from its color.

White was very common and they could find it almost everywhere while black was extremely rare and they had only found a certain number of it all over the world. However, it was extremely dangerous as well.

But there was a strange black portal floating in the midair, far above the bottomless pit that surprisingly, no one could enter. Just like when the portals first appeared in the world, they could not enter it as well no matter what they try.

Only after humanities had annihilated all the beasts on Encantadia were they able to enter the portal, so they thought that there was some kind of conditions that needed to meet in order to enter the strange black portal on the sky above.Ne/w novel chapt𝒆rs are published on no/vel(/bin(.)co/m

As if a ball of a void, its size was way bigger than any other portals they had ever seen before. It was as huge as a gigantic mountain and it could emit an oppressive aura that made anyone shiver in fear just by being in its presence, making ordinary hunters completely helpless and fell on their knees.

Because no one could enter, they leave the strange portal alone.

Humanities became more and more united and were in a common goal, that was 'to hunt down all the beasts and clear out all the portals!'

It took them six whole years for all the portals to be cleared. Of course except for the strange black portal that they could not enter. They still failed to figure out the condition to enter that portal.

Even so, after 20 years starting from when the illness spread out all over the world, the First Great War of humans against beasts finally ended.

The victorious battle of humans against the beasts ended the Forsaken Age and brought forth a new one. The age where humanities acquired great powers to fight against the beasts with monstrous strengths, it was the age of the first awakeners, the 'New Age'.

After 20 years of suffering they had finally broke out from the cataclysm. But the pains and sorrows still remained in their hearts.

So then again, the war had ended, but still, there was no peace!

The hundred million humans who were left and scattered across Encantadia didn't feel even a little bit of happiness at all or even the slightest peace of mind.
