Chapter 37 - Supreme Alchemy Furnace, Ten Thousand Beasts Cauldron
Chapter 37: Supreme Alchemy Furnace, Ten Thousand Beasts Cauldron
“Elder Shangguan, you may select any treasure from the forbidden grounds for your mission. I’m giving you one month—only one month—to find and eliminate the one who killed Li Xun!”
“No matter who the perpetrator is, or what backing they have, they must pay the price—the price of blood!”
Bai Yunqing was truly enraged.
Li Xun had been more than just Bai Yunqing’s personal disciple; he was a pivotal figure in the sect’s century-long grand strategy. With his death, their carefully laid plans had to be scrapped and rebuilt from scratch.
“Yes!” Shangguan Ce replied decisively.
The forbidden grounds of Blazing Sky Valley housed countless treasures, including tools for tracking. Using the remnants of Li Xun’s soul stored in his life-bound jade slip, Shangguan Ce could trace his movements before his death, leading directly to the murderer.
“Remember, retrieve the Mysterious Flame Mirror at all costs!” Bai Yunqing commanded, his tone as cold as ice.
His instincts told him that Li Xun’s death was tied to the Mysterious Flame Mirror. As the cornerstone of their grand strategy, the artefact had to be reclaimed.
“Understood!” Shangguan Ce shouted.
That very day, Shangguan Ce departed from Blazing Sky Valley. He was going to return to the Central Plains after twenty years. Guided by special tracking treasures, he embarked on his quest for justice.

As the evening sun dipped below the horizon, a radiant rainbow streaked across the sky, landing at the foot of Mount Wanshou. From the brilliance emerged a handsome young man.
“I’ve arrived,” Xiao Yu murmured with a faint smile, gazing at the gates of Iron Pillar Temple.
With three days remaining until the Mid-Autumn Festival, he estimated there would be plenty of time to reinforce the temple’s formations.
“Check-in!”
Instead of immediately entering, Xiao Yu activated his system for a check-in.
Ding!
Check-in at Mount Wanshou successful. Reward: Ten Thousand Beasts Cauldron.
[Ten Thousand Beasts Cauldron(万兽鼎, Wàn Shòu Dǐng): A supreme-grade magical artefact primarily used as an alchemy furnace. It greatly enhances the success rate of refining pills. As a supreme-grade artefact, it can also be wielded as a weapon, classified at the Nascent Soul level.]
“Luck is on my side today!” Xiao Yu exclaimed with delight, retrieving the cauldron from his system’s inventory.
The cauldron’s design was striking. Cast in a bronze hue, it featured three legs and two ears—a symbolic representation of heaven, earth, and humanity, as well as the balance of yin and yang. Its outer surface was adorned with intricate reliefs of mythical beasts: Azure Dragon, Vermilion Bird, Black Tortoise, and White Tiger, each so vividly rendered they seemed almost alive.
“What a treasure!”
“This is my first supreme-grade artefact. Unless absolutely necessary, I mustn’t reveal it to anyone.”
Xiao Yu understood the danger of possessing such a rare treasure. As a mere mid-stage Golden Core cultivator wielding a Nascent Soul-level artefact, he’d inevitably attract envy and calamity if discovered.
“This cauldron will be perfect for alchemy. If the opportunity arises, I’ll give pill refining a try.”
Securing the Ten Thousand Beasts Cauldron in his storage pouch, Xiao Yu made his way toward the gates of the Iron Pillar Temple.
Two young disciples stood guard at the entrance.
The boys were struck by Xiao Yu’s ethereal bearing. When they inquired about his purpose, they were astonished to learn he was the long-awaited saviour sent by Tianyong City.
Guided by the disciples, Xiao Yu entered the temple and was escorted to the Pine Crane Pavilion, where he met the temple’s elderly abbot.
“Immortal Master, your journey must have been arduous. Please, have some tea,” the abbot said deferentially.
Despite being at the late Foundation Establishment stage himself, the old abbot treated Xiao Yu with the utmost respect.
Though Xiao Yu was merely eighteen, the rules of the cultivation world dictated that the abbot address him as a senior due to his Golden Core status. To avoid making Xiao Yu uncomfortable, he opted to address him as “Immortal Master” instead.
“I’m not one for rigid formalities, so there’s no need to be overly cautious,” Xiao Yu said with a friendly smile.
“Immortal Master, I sought aid from Tianyong City because of the wolf demon’s threat. I expected Hansu Zhenren to send a Foundation Establishment cultivator, but never in my wildest dreams did I imagine he’d send a Golden Core senior. I’m truly honoured,” the abbot said, his face glowing with gratitude.
“A Golden Core cultivator!”@@novelbin@@
To have someone of Xiao Yu’s calibre assist with strengthening the formation was beyond the abbot’s wildest expectations—it was almost excessive.
“Abbot, my master didn’t send me. I came here of my own accord.”
What do you think?
