"Ha ha, don't be like that..." Shen Mochen's expression first turned rigid, then he forced a dry laugh and backed away.

"You already used up Yin Caiyu's superpower during the day, so now you pose no threat to us... Oh, right, you still have the enhanced superpower from Cai Yuncui, want to try it out?" Catherine casually stepped back behind Fuzi.

A bead of cold sweat trickled down from his temple, Shen Mochen's heart beating faintly, as he continued to force a laugh: "Don't joke like this..."

"Do you think I'm joking?" Catherine shook her head, "I'm not kidding. Right now, you only have two options in front of you, I'll give you ten seconds to think."

"Isn't ten seconds a bit too short? After all, this is a matter of a lifetime. Why don't we sit down and talk it out..."

"Ten seconds are up, Fuzi, take action." Catherine seemed not interested in talking, a hint of regret flashed across her face, "I'm sorry, you can only blame yourself for talking too much..."

Fuzi pulled the trigger without hesitation, giving Shen Mochen no time to react.

"Hey!"

Shen Mochen instinctively blocked his head, while simultaneously using Xiao Xingshuang's superpower, a virtual giant appeared instantly, a large bell covering him.

This bell had strong defensive capabilities, but Shen Mochen knew that against a Transcendent, it was as fragile as paper. However, in the blink of an eye, he had no other choice.

"Snap!"

At the sound of the gunshot, Shen Mochen closed his eyes.

One second, two seconds, his head was still there.

"Catherine, is this fun for you!" Realizing what had happened, Shen Mochen opened his eyes angrily, only to see Catherine's smug, triumphing smirk.

"You actually believed that I would really kill you, I'm truly hurt." Catherine feigned a sad expression on her face.

As the giant's apparition faded, Shen Mochen was both angry and helpless: "You're going to scare someone to death doing that!"

Catherine walked up to Shen Mochen, a childlike, post-prank smile on her face.

"What if I was serious?" Catherine's lips curled up as she pinched Shen Mochen's face, "I'm teaching you, don't just trust women blindly; anyone can betray you."

"I just trusted you, that's all." Shen Mochen said.

Catherine snickered, hands pinching Shen Mochen's face: "Still so stubborn, you weren't like this before. You used to be cautious of everyone. What's happened now, who made you so tender? Was it Cai Yuncui, was it Xia Qingrou, or was it me?"

"I'm telling you all this just to help you... I'm still wary of others!"

"Although I'm not annoyed by your original attitude, I still hope you'll be more vigilant in the future. Didn't Yin Caiyu teach you that the more beautiful a woman is, the more dangerous? You're helping me now, but what if later you're lured by another woman and you tell her your secrets? Can you be sure she'll have no malice towards you?"

Shen Mochen stubbornly said, "I've seen women before, how could I possibly..."

Catherine interrupted Shen Mochen lightly, "What if it's Liu Chaoyan?"

Shen Mochen was taken aback, "What does she have to do with this?"

A hint of a barely-there smirk crossed Catherine's lips, "Stop pretending. Something definitely happened between you two. During the school anniversary, the way you looked at her was off. Let me remind you, I've met Liu Chaoyan a few times before. She's a dangerous character and even I can't see through her. Be careful not to pity her and accidentally expose yourself."

"Don't worry, I won't," Shen Mochen repeatedly nodded in assurance, "I know she's very calculated, but I don't think she has any particularly bad intentions."

"See, you're starting to trust her already," Catherine glared, "That's exactly what I wanted to warn you about. That's what's so dangerous about people like her; even if you can't see through her, you mysteriously start to feel good about her!"

Shen Mochen shuddered inside and nodded in agreement. He had always been careful, but realizing he had never guarded against Liu Chaoyan, despite knowing she was dangerous, was an oversight. Catherine's words brought him to a sudden realization.

"Maybe, it's the childhood filter..." After a long silence, Shen Mochen decided to come clean to Catherine, since the biggest secret was already out, "When I was a kid picking through garbage, I met her and she gave me a piece of bread."

"Oh... So that's how it is. Was she your first love?"

Catherine cracked a smile, which was really irritating. Damn it, was there any part of this man that still belonged to her?

Shen Mochen noticed the odd tone in Catherine's voice and hastily opened his heart, "It's barely a first crush and we were just kids back then. What do we know about love? If you and she both fell into the water now, I'd definitely save you, not her!"

This kind of declaration left Catherine speechless, and she gave him an irritated look, "Alright, at least I've warned you. I believe you should understand your position now."

Catherine vaguely sensed that the childhood encounter Shen Mochen and Liu Chaoyan had was not as simple as he described, but it didn't matter. Everyone has memories they are ashamed to recall, and at least she could tell that Shen Mochen's final confession was genuine.

"I know, I'll keep a low profile, at least until I have fully mastered my superpower before considering the future."

Shen Mochen was well aware of his own worth. According to Catherine, there were over forty active Transcendents in Roman's service, and Yupi Country had a population similar to Roman.

From this, he estimated that even though the last Node collapse greatly weakened Buque's combat capabilities, Yupi Country should still have about twenty active Transcendents. But what about those Transcendents who had retired due to weakened powers? Surely there would be at least two hundred.

Without saying anything else, even if Shen Mochen didn't use any other superpowers or do any other work, just being responsible for bringing these Transcendents back to their peak and maintaining it would be enough for Yupi Country to challenge Roman and Huaqi.

Shen Mochen had seen the power of Transcendents; not only were their superpowers extremely strong, their physical condition in Transcendent State was comparable to Superman, so each Transcendent was equivalent to a modernized army.

Of course, working officially with Yupi authorities was just an ideal scenario...

If this power was exploited by ambitious individuals or terrorist organizations, or if Shen Mochen became mentally warped one day, destroying the world was not out of the question.

Shen Mochen was aware of the potential danger he could pose to the world, so he constantly felt uneasy.

As a child, he had been an outright villain, but his biggest dream was instead to live a quiet life of going to work, enjoying life under the sun with the Yin sisters, perhaps even making a modest fortune, with plenty of holidays each year to take them to amusement parks.

Yet, fate had made him Pandora's Box, hidden within it the devilish power that could disrupt the entire world, or perhaps, he could even become the devil himself.
