"Strange, why is it so quiet tonight?"

Qian Tong widened his eyes; his apartment was located by the road, which usually bustled with traffic, but today's sudden quietness gave him an uneasy feeling.

Then he got up to take a look, and the scene before his eyes shocked him.

"Did I...become deaf???"

He saw the hustle and bustle of cars on the road not far away and the flickering neon lights signifying that everything was normal, which meant the abnormality was with him.

"Damn, what is this mess?" cursed Qian Tong as he walked out. "Looks like stress syndrome is playing tricks again."

Just as he opened the door, he was greeted by an endless darkness rushing towards him, the world twisted beyond measure, and a massive presence loomed over everyone's heads.

For a moment, Qian Tong felt a pain in the back of his head, as if a huge hole had been drilled into it.

When he reached to touch, he felt nothing, and when he came to his senses, everything, the so-called darkness and the pain and hole in the back of his head, seemed like it had never happened.

What unfolded before him was merely an ordinary hallway.
