100 Days to Seduce the Devil

Chapter 900 The Last Mission: The Proposal

Chapter 900  The Last Mission: The Proposal

Day Ninety-Five…

Jane stretched her arms, smiling in satisfaction. She just finished typing her diary– her Ninety-Four Day journey for making Nathan fall for her.

"I hope I can receive this diary once I wake up in the present time," Jane mumbled to herself.

"Mommy! May I come in?" Ethan knocked on the door.

"Of course, Baby," Jane responded.

Ethan sprinted to her excitedly. "Mommy, are you ready for tonight's party? It's a Bohemian Theme!"

"Yes. Your Aunt Hanabi delivered my bohemian dress earlier. I will try it out now." Jane stood up and picked up the dress lying on her bed.

"Wait for me, Baby. I'll just change my clothes." "Okay, Mommy. Take your time!" Ethan responded with a broad grin. He wondered how his mother would react to his father's surprise.

Just as he waited for Jane, Ethan caught a glimpse of Jane's diary on the laptop. He sat on the chair and started reading it. He made sure to remember every detail Jane had written. He giggled from time to time after reading the funny banter and arguments between Jane and Nathan in the earlier chapters.

"Mom and Dad are so adorable," he mumbled.

"Hmm. Why is it my son is laughing alone?" Jane hugged Ethan from behind. She had just come out of the bathroom.

"Mommy!" Ethan gasped upon seeing Jane in her Bohemian Dress. "I think you need something. Wait for me."

Ethan jumped off the chair and dashed out of the room. A few seconds later, he returned, holding a flower crown.

"Mommy, let me put it on your head!" Jane smiled, crouching down so that Ethan could put the flower crown on her head.

"Mommy, you look so stunning tonight. My Dad will fall harder for you," Ethan giggled with excitement.

Jane pinched his cheeks and planted a soft kiss on his forehead. "What a sweet talker child! Hmmm. You are my favorite person, Ethan. I love you both."

"I love you the most, Mommy. Shall we go now? Everyone is waiting for us."

Jane nodded in response. Ethan grabbed her hand as he guided her out of her room. She was still clueless about Nathan's proposal. Everyone was good at hiding from her.

Meanwhile, at the beach, the cozy decorations had been put up with the help of everyone. Various flowers could be seen all over the place. And the things that brightened the whole place were the crystal lights.

"Bro, are you ready?" Stephen tapped Nathan's back.

Nathan simply nodded, holding the small box containing the ring. He appeared to be nervous.

"The fireworks are ready. Just give me the signal!" Aiden shouted from behind. After Nathan started his proposal, Tatsumi and Aiden were assigned to light the fireworks.

Mr. Hiroshi and Kazuki just watched everything on the sideline.

The members of the Phantom Assassin Guild were all present. Wearing their respective bohemian attires, they gathered around as they waited for Jane's arrival. Everyone had an exciting look on their faces.

'Is this going to work out?' Nathan asked himself, gripping the box tightly.

"Oops. Everyone get ready! Ethan texted me. He is now escorting Sis Jane…" Hanabi announced.

"Should we hide?" Iron Lady asked Mystique.

"No need. Sis Jane might notice something if she doesn't see us here. She believes that we are having a Bohemian Party!" Mystique replied.

"Oh! This is nerve-wracking. Why am I the one getting nervous?" Black Rose blurted out, rubbing her palms together.

The ladies laughed at her remark.

It was not long before they caught a glimpse of Jane and Ethan's figure. They were approaching the venue.

"Here they are!" Someone exclaimed.

When Ethan and Jane reached the entrance, the surroundings suddenly lit up. From her spot, crystal lights made a path toward Nathan's spot. Forming two rows, the ladies were on both sides, staring at her.

Jane was taken aback for a moment, frozen in her place. She darted her gaze back and forth between Nathan and her colleagues. Everyone was looking at her with anticipation.

'What's going on here? Why do I feel like a bride about to walk down the aisle? And what's with all these decorations?'

Jane shifted her gaze back to Nathan. He was waiting for her at the end of this path, holding a bouquet of red roses. For some unknown reason, her heart raced. She had a nagging feeling about this.

"Mommy! Let's go! Daddy is waiting." Ethan's voice snapped her out of her deep thoughts. The young boy even tugged her hand.

Stephen made a hand signal at the back. That simple gesture didn't escape Jane's observant eyes. Her steps suddenly slowed down as she observed her surroundings.

Her comrades, her friends, her father, Nathan's friends– Everyone was present, and they were smiling at her. At that certain moment, Jane's suspicion intensified further.

'Wait. Don't tell me… Nathan is going to confess to me tonight. Is this some kind of proposal?' Jane started to panic at the thought. She wasn't ready for this confession yet.

She became conflicted as she watched Nathan at the end of this path. He also looked serious and… anxious.

'Damn! Why now! Not now, Nate. Please don't do this.'  Jane was put in a dilemma. She knew that once she reached Nathan's spot, there was no turning back anymore.

"Mommy, are you okay?" Ethan asked her in puzzlement. He noticed that Jane's face had turned pale. And she stopped in her tracks.

Jane glanced at Ethan. There was a hint of helplessness in her eyes as she looked at him.

"Mommy, what's wrong? Why do you look so sad? What's troubling you?" Ethan darted his gaze at their surroundings. Seeing his mother's comrades, the young boy was reminded of the conversation between Jane and Bam-Bam.

'Oh no! I've forgotten about it. Is Mommy trying to delay my Daddy's confession because she still wants to spend time with her friends?'

Ethan had just figured out Jane's concern when suddenly, Jane whispered something to him. "I'm sorry, Ethan. I can't do this… yet."

After saying those words, Jane let go of Ethan's hand. Without looking back, Jane turned and ran away. Everyone was dumbfounded when they saw Jane's retreating figure.

'Huh? What's going on? Why is Sis Jane running away?'

Nathan's heart shattered as he watched Jane's figure drift away, resembling a bride fleeing from her groom on their wedding day.

'Why do I feel like I am getting rejected…' Nathan clenched the bouquet of roses in his grip.
