Volume 13 Chapter 42: Building A Home For Gala

Getting Gala comfortable with Bei and the rest of the farm animals, he returned to the first island.

“Keith, you’re finally back!” Carolyn and the others approached him as he entered through the kitchen.

Keith nodded, “Mmhmm! I’m back, so did you all behave?”

“Good for the most part.” They were the ones who were fine.

Keith, on the other hand, “What were you doing?!” There were loads of questions they wanted to ask him about his adventure. He would always go on these long adventures without telling them about it!

Patting Aria’s head, “For starters, we got ourselves a new animal.”

“Eh?” “What kind?”

“Cow, but let her adjust. She’s with Bei and the other spirits.” He couldn't let so many people go near her; it would make her anxious and scared. Scarlet and the others nodded, but he could tell they were dejected.

Herrick added, “Then do you know what kind of milk she'll make?” Keith wouldn’t bring another animal without a reason. The eggs Eldi made were so delicious!

Keith shrugged, “I don’t know to be honest. I brought her here out of my own feelings.” Choosing her because of her delicious milk wasn't on Keith's mind when he decided; it was because he saw her environment. He wanted to give the cow a warm home.

“…” Scarlet and the others could only look at him warmly. That was when he talked about his journey through the A-rank dungeon. Hearing all of this,

"You should have taken us with you!" Herrick and Melor muttered. They wanted to head into an A-rank dungeon!

"Can't. You guys need to increase your rank first before anything." Keith shook his head.

Krystal muttered, “To think you adventured with the guildmaster.” That baffled all of them. They were all talking about how they shouldn’t meet up.

However, the stars aligned at the perfect time!

Cadmus laughed, “But you got some good ingredients, right? Erwin wouldn’t have left you to dry!”

“Got a lot of meat with me!” Keith patted his belt. He obtained a bountiful amount of meat from this; he was eager to cook them.

"..." The others slowly salivated at the thought.

Keith clapped his hands, “Nephele, everything good with the cart?”

Since he was gone for that time, that meant that the great spirit of wind would be the one to watch over all of them. That worried him until Diana went with her.

“Well, there was an incident where I was headhunted by some people.”

“EH?” Keith blinked before laughing, “They were headhunting you?”

“Yeah, and they were so condescending.” She pouted, and Keith patted her head, "Good work. Ignore them going forward; if they try to act handsy, send them flying."

"Understood!"

"..." Keith, I don't think you should allow that. If anyone else does it, sure. That would work. But not Nephele. If she did, that person would be sent flying into the air and across the world.

The next day,

Keith headed out to the yard. His lips slowly curved up, “So that’s why I couldn’t hear anything in the morning.” Usually, they would be the sounds of people moving around. Everyone was on the second island where they were tending to Gala.

Sarah cuddled with the cow, “Oh my word, Keith! Why didn’t you tell us that you brought home such a cutie!” The adorableness of this cow is immeasurable! And the others couldn’t help but nestle into it as well.

"It's so cute, Leader." Arlo patted the cow softly.

"Moo," Gala was pleased. How did they get so close to one another?

Keith laughed, “Alright, alright. Don’t crowd Gala so much.” Carolyn and the rest pouted as they moved away. Clearly, they wanted to snuggle with the cow some more.

“Gala, can I get some milk from you?” Keith stretched his arms as he lightly got the milk out.

"Moo!" Gala was fine with it as the man took a stool and sat beside her. He got to work. As a droplet of milk landed on his hand, he gave it a slight lick.

“Woah, this is sweet!”  A mellow sweetness reminded him of condensed milk. This milk was interesting. However, that was not the only thing.

“Can you make two types?”

After getting the two milk, he decided to go into the kitchen and get to work. Today's breakfast was going to be a quiche.

“Guys! Come here and eat!” Keith grinned as they started to do so. Herrick and the others started eating, but they couldn’t believe it. “Woah! The taste is so full."

The quiche had such a creamy and rich taste. Not only that, it was bouncing in their mouth. The others couldn’t fathom the wondrous taste.

Keith grinned, “Alright, guys! Today, I’m getting materials for building Gala a home!" The barn house wasn’t going to cut it. That cow was actually bigger than the actual building!

“Yeah! Let’s build a house for the cutie!” Carolyn and the others grinned left and right. Keith nodded, “Then Arlo and I will go to Dalen’s workshop to get some materials.” There was no need to get wood since he had Diana; she could make the sturdiest thing out there. It was going to be paint and shingles.

“Understood!” The others nodded. Keith and Arlo headed to the Ironhilde workshop, “Skar, going to need some shingles and also some paint.”
