For a few days now, Keith had been thinking about getting a larger bed. And that was because of how many people were napping here. Glancing down, there was a considerable number of guests. 

You have his familiars: Fira, Mir, and Lei. Then you have the residential baby Ruby. Then, there were Alfia and Scarlet’s spirits, who joined in on the fun. 

Adding all of this together would definitely make his bed cramped. However, there was one person who was loving it.

“…” A cheeky snoozing fox child was also sleeping on his bed. She was nestling in with the spirits and puff balls. Keith could only softly chuckle as he left his bed and patted his owl’s head, “Good morning, Aria.” “Hoo.” The owl nestled into his face, and that was when he headed off. 

Cleaning himself in the bathroom was the usual before heading to the kitchen to cook. Preparing to make breakfast for everyone, Keith felt something coming from his back: “Good morning to you, Scarlet. Aren't you supposed to be still asleep?" This woman was not a morning person; she would only wake up with the help of someone else. 

“Hey, I can wake up when I want. But when the Rising Star is up, I have to wake up to see what he's cooking." 

“…Can you not say that?” A sigh came out of his mouth. 

Scarlet shook her head, “They’re going to be calling you that for quite some time. You have to accept this.” 

Rising Star. 

That was the title Keith obtained. It had been a day since the competition between him and Brian. Everyone would not stop talking about it since he had beaten him quite hands-down. It was because the one he won against was a popular chef in the city. 

Frankly, Keith shouldn't be surprised about what had happened. 

"The person used a variant, and you still crushed him. Frankly, that's the biggest talking point." The opponent used a variant, while Keith had no meat except eggs. No one expected the boy to win. 

"That's because he misused it." 

Scarlet grinned, “What are you going to make today?” 

“I’m going to make a simple eggs benedict with bacon.” Today was going to be a simple breakfast. He was feeling bacon in the morning. 

“Then it’ll be delicious.” The demon princess didn’t say anything anymore as she continued to hug his neck. 

"Aren't you going to get off me?"

"Nope!"

"...You know Carolyn will fight you for this, right?" 

"Then let her come!" She snuggles into his neck. 

However, 

“Papa.” The little fox child entered, holding onto her bunny doll, “Good morning, Eri.” Scarlet smiled, and Eri nodded, “Morning.” It was a soft greeting as she gently hugged Keith’s leg.

“Did you wash your face?” “Mmhmmm.” 

“Good.” Keith picked her up and continued to cook. Scarlet watched this with the biggest grin ever! 

“What?” “We really look like a family right now.” 

"We're not one." Keith rolled his eyes, "I feel like I have two daughters."

“Hmpf! Papa is just a meanie.” 

“And this papa is telling you to bring the food to the table.” Keith flicked her forehead. It was going to be a long day.

He was right because the others stared at him with grins as well. Keith shook his head as he munched on a muffin. It was clear they wanted to poke fun at him. However, he was not going to give them the pleasure.

He looked at the newspaper, and he almost spat out his tea. “What in the world?!” The thing about him beating Brian was being spread far and wide throughout the city. 

“Oh, dear lord.” Keith slapped his head as he watched all of this go down. Cadmus laughed, “Haha! What do you think? I had to pay good coins to have you on the front page!” 

“…” You’re the one who did this?! 

“Why?” A groan escaped from Keith’s mouth, questioning this dragon’s sanity. Well, he was one of the reasons why this competition had occurred. He had done it to get some new food for himself. And hearing it was enough to cause everyone to tilt their heads. “What? Since you’ve beaten them, you got to market it out more!” 

“…” The fact you're saying it is something.  

“Cool.” Eri was staring at the photo of Keith holding onto his main dish. It was a beautiful work of art. 

Long Yueying added, "I want to try that dish now.” They were all curious about its taste. Cadmus added as he remembered the taste, “It was literally the best thing I’ve ever had.” Even now, he couldn’t forget about the taste. Egg heaven. That was the only way to describe it. 

“…We get it, Headmaster, you jerk.” The others couldn’t help but glare at this dragon. Nephele couldn’t help but add, “Why did you have to be a judge?!“ 

Cadmus was one of the judges in that competition. He shrugged, “That’s because I’m one of the founding members of Vastoria! Of course, they would need someone like me!” It would have been sacrilege for him not to be there!  

“…” So are you just using your powers again? Carolyn and the others shook their heads when they heard this. Keith then finished his food and stretched his hands back and forth. “Guess I’m going to go out now.” He was not about to hear more nonsense from this dragon.
