Abyssal Sovereign: The Demon's Dominion

Chapter 167 Special appreciation to a legend

"Tournament of Power"... Void appeared on Beerus' planet just in time for it.

The arc had progressed rapidly, and now the ten fighters were here.

Seeing Void appear made Beerus and Whis smile.

"You should be trained to be a destroyer," Beerus said lightly, smiling.

"Lord Beerus is right. You are quite efficient at this," Whis commented as Void chuckled.

The news of Void being permitted to destroy different planets across various universes had spread among all the angels and destroyers. After all, he had been present in their universes at one point or another.

The destroyers and angels were quite curious. Likely in this Tournament of Power, they expected to see who this mysterious being was.

"Heyo, Void!" Goku said, waving to him.

"Thanks, Lord Beerus, Whis, but I'd like to decline. After all, I can't destroy much here," Void responded, walking over to the group and stopping a few centimeters away.

The other Z fighters looked at Void, particularly the Supreme Kai and Grand Kai.

"The aura ..., He's just like Lord Beerus," the Supreme Kai thought.

"Hey Goku, huh, why are you all gathered like this?" Void asked, pretending to be shocked.

"Oh, thanks to this dumb mortal, the Omni-Kings have descended to host a Tournament of Power. A battle royale where each universe provides ten fighters," Beerus began, explaining the gist of the situation to Void. Void nodded, though he already knew everything, he still listened.

"Lord Beerus, I think we should leave now. It wouldn't be nice to keep the Omni-Kings waiting," Whis said as Beerus' tail stopped wagging.

"Alright, Whis, we should go. And you mortals behave, especially you, Goku. You've already caused enough chaos, so stay away from the Omni-Kings," Beerus said.

"It's him. He's back, and I feel like he's stronger now," Vegeta thought as he stared at Void. His Saiyan blood urged him to challenge Void.

"Grand Priest, we are ready," Whis called out, and they disappeared.

Void and the others appeared at the ring.

There was a semi-curved platform where the gods, angels, and Kais were seated. The seat floated with divine and awe-inspiring charm.

Void gazed at his surroundings, filled with emptiness and a desolate view. Only the thrones of the Omni-Kings stood out, along with a god's pad. Below was the ring, made of the strongest material in this cosmology.

Void folded his arms as he sat down. After all, he was just here to observe.

The events commenced as usual. The fighters below examined the ring and discussed plans.

Goku and the others were shocked to discover they couldn't fly using techniques. Only those with wings could fly.

Different beings from various universes began appearing.

Universe Six, with Hit, Cabba, and the female Saiyans, was close to Universe Seven, so they chatted.

From his seat, Void saw Frieza and Frost exchanging words, which made him smile. It was quite interesting.

Finally, Universe Eleven arrived. The Pride Troopers, in all their glory, made their entrance.

Jiren, Toppo, Dyspo, and the others exuded terrifying auras.

"You guys pretend to be strong and all, but those guys are the real deal," Caulifla said to Goku and the others, pointing at Universe Eleven.

"Hey, Toppo," Goku called out, walking toward him while noticing the figure that stood out.

After some justice talk from Toppo, where he called Goku a sinner and devil for causing this tournament, Goku asked curiously, "Who's that?"

"That's Jiren, the strongest fighter in the Pride Troopers," Toppo replied, his voice full of respect. But Jiren wasn't looking at Goku or the others—his eyes were on one person: Void.

Void merely smiled back at Jiren.

Finally, the Grand Priest stepped forward, greeted everyone, and introduced the Omni-Kings.

"Alright! Let's start the tournament!" Zeno declared.

"Yeah! Let's get started!" Future Zeno chimed in.

"I'm looking forward to seeing how strong all the fighters are!" Zeno said excitedly.

The Grand Priest added, "There's a slight change. The Omni-Kings have decided to add a new contestant. He is not from our world and is a special being. Additionally, he cannot be destroyed or lose in this battle."

The gods and angels were shocked. The mortals were angry. What did the Grand Priest mean by "he cannot lose"? Was he stronger than them?

"The gods and angels might already know who he is. He is the one who has been visiting your universes and fulfilling the roles of a destroyer. Without further ado, please welcome Void," the Grand Priest announced, smiling as he glanced at Void.

Following his gaze, everyone turned to look at Void. He smiled slightly and looked at Alayot.

Alayot kindly looked away as Void's face twitched.

His plan was to watch the battle calmly, but fate had other plans.

With a sigh, Void stood up. Everyone watched as this slightly dark-skinned man flew to the battleground.

Jiren's expression grew serious. He hadn't expected this being to be so strong, and the fact that he wasn't from their world only made things more complex.

Jiren walked away from the Pride Troopers.

"Jiren," Toppo called out.

"I'll be back," Jiren said as he walked toward Void.

Goku and Vegeta were shocked. Did Void have some connection to Jiren?

"We meet again," Jiren said, looking at Void.

"Yeah, we do," Void replied with a laugh.

"This time, I will win," Jiren declared as everyone listened intently.

"Ah, what a wonderful wish," Void said, his expression turning solemn.

Then, Void laughed out loud.

"Too bad you're too weak," Void said with a grin, causing Jiren to clench his fists.

"Till then, warrior," Jiren said, turning back and walking toward the Pride Troopers.

The Grand Priest and the others observed the exchange calmly.

"Without further ado... let the Tournament of Power begin," the Grand Priest declared as warriors launched into battle, displaying their strength.

Meanwhile, Void walked to the center of the ring and lay down.

"What is he doing?" Champa asked, curious.

"Is this the so-called Chosen One?"

"Another creature—fascinating."

"Brother, do you know something I don't?" Vados suddenly inquired.

The voices of gods, Kais, and angels echoed as they observed Void, who seemed like he was merely resting while others fought for their lives.

"All I can say is he is definitely the strongest here, even stronger than some gods. And yes, stronger than Jiren," Whis replied.

Everyone drew a sharp breath. After all, it was clearly stated that Jiren was the mortal stronger than his own God of Destruction.

"Sigh, look at them—all flustered," Void said, suddenly glancing at the gods, Kais, and angels staring at him. He sighed again.

"I can't help but feel strangely relaxed—the screams and shouts of power, the battle, the chaos—I love it. Very much."

Void grinned as he pondered his next move. Since he had already disrupted the timeline, he thought, To hell with it. He was going to fight now, and he had already chosen his first prey.

"There's something we must do," Beerus suddenly said, standing up. He wasn't the only one. The other Gods of Destruction could feel it too—something critical was missing.

The angels behind them all smiled. "It seems our sires have felt it," Vados said with a knowing look.

"He's gone, isn't he?" Future Zeno asked.

"He is," Present Zeno replied.

The Grand Priest sighed, his emotions conflicted. A great man was gone. Who were they—the gods, angels, and the rest—in comparison to him?

Back in the ring, mortals felt despair, dread, and pain as they gazed at what appeared to be the sky of the Void Realm.

Void stood up and sighed as well.

"Who was a great man? It is none other than this man," Void muttered.

This man had made millions of childhoods worth living. From Dragon Ball to Dragon Ball Z to Dragon Ball Super, and iconic movies like Dragon Ball Broly and Fusion Reborn, his works inspired generations. Even fellow authors of Naruto and One Piece revered him.

They called his work the father of all anime. They called Goku the strongest, even among all characters in the world of anime.

Void recalled Earth's most famous debates: Who is the father of anime? and Which anime are the Big Three?

Now, standing among gods, angels, mortals, and the remaining deities, Void sighed again.

In this realm, every being was present, from the First Universe to the last. They were here for one reason only: to pay respect to the man in the sky.

"Akira Toriyama," Goku said, his voice trembling as everyone's hearts shattered.

The top three animes—One Piece, Naruto, and Bleach—may have ruled their time, but the legendary Dragon Ball was the father of all anime, and Goku, the father of all anime characters.

Void felt an ache deep in his soul, his eyes misting. A great man, acknowledged by all, had died today.

Click.

Reality shattered like a mirror as portals opened.

Luffy walked out with Zoro and his crew.

"Hi, Goku. We're here to pay our respects to Toriyama," Luffy said, nodding solemnly.

"Us too," another voice chimed in as Naruto, Sasuke, Boruto, and the rest appeared.

One by one, they came. Astro Boy, Sung Jin-Woo, Superman, Batman, Iron Man, Hulk—characters from all genres of fiction—whether comics, movies, or anime.

Even villains and gag characters like Saitama arrived.

The Void Realm soon overflowed with beings: characters from Haikyuu!!, Kuroko no Basket, Blue Lock, Pikachu and Ash, The Flash, Sonic, Tom and Jerry, and Ben 10.

"Akira Toriyama, we pay our respect," Goku declared, bowing deeply.

Space rippled as a being with a golden staff walked out: Sun Wukong. Goku's character had been inspired by him, just as Void was inspired by Roy from Custom Made Demon King.

"Akira Toriyama, we pay our respect," Sun Wukong echoed, standing beside Goku.

"Akira Toriyama, we pay our respect," Void said, his voice heavy with emotion.

"Akira Toriyama, we pay our respect," Roy added, his demon body towering.

One by one, every character called out, their voices growing louder, their combined auras shaking the void.

Eren and others unleashed their strongest forms.

"Rest in peace, legend," Goku said, kneeling. Discover stories with My Virtual Library Empire

"Rest in peace, legend," the rest echoed.

Suddenly, in the sky of the Void Realm, an image of Akira Toriyama appeared. He was smiling.

More images materialized—those of deceased authors who had given life to these characters. Seeing the creators of Tom and Jerry broke everyone's hearts. Tom and Jerry hugged each other, weeping.

One by one, every character knelt before their authors' images.

Finally, Sun Wukong stood.

"Hehe, thank you, China," he said, kneeling.

"Thank you, Japan."

"Thank you, America."

"Thank you, Sweden."

They knelt because, without the imagination of humans, they wouldn't exist. Humans may not have been the strongest or fastest beings, but their imagination was unmatched.

"Thank you, humans," every character said, bowing their heads.

They were alive because of humanity's boundless creativity.

***********

"Aaaargh!" Goku screamed as he ascended to Ultra Instinct.

"Kamehameha!" He unleashed his iconic technique into the sky as his final tribute.

He wasn't alone. Vegeta turned into Ultra Ego, Gohan to Beast Form, and others unleashed their ultimate techniques.

"I am Atomic!"

"Rasengan!"

"Getsuga Tenshō!"

"King Kong Gun!"

"Asura!"

"Detroit Smash!"

"Infinite Tsukuyomi!"

"Domain Expansion: Infinite Void!"

"The World!"

"Wind Magic: Spirit Creation!"

"Heat Vision!"

"Mjolnir's Thunder Strike!"

Characters from all genres unleashed their strongest attacks, space shattering around them. They couldn't reach humans, but they could see them worshipping their creators—those they believed were responsible for their existence.

"Thank you, humans," every character said again, bowing deeply.

They owed their existence to the endless imagination of humanity, and for that, they were eternally grateful.
