Chapter 50: Chapter 50: Cousin, can we not fight? The opponent is a martial artist.
“I understand,” Sang Shen closed his eyes in agony, his voice tight with pain. When things had gotten to this point, what was there that he couldn’t understand?
He had given Jiaojiao a chance to explain, but never extended the same courtesy to Sang Qiao.
Perhaps the old Sang Qiao didn’t even understand why her once doting brother had suddenly grown to despise her.
“It’s getting late, I’m heading back to the club,” said Sang Siyang, feeling pity for his second brother but unable to sympathize; after all, when it came to being cruel to Sang Qiao, aside from Third Brother, Second Brother was the worst.
But in Sang Qiao’s eyes, probably all four of them were the same. Thinking of this, he suddenly felt a profound sense of helplessness.
“Alright,” Sang Shen responded numbly, not knowing how he should get in touch with Sang Qiao, or even what he should do next.
Qiaoqiao simply didn’t want to have anything to do with him now…
He claimed he was giving Jiaojiao a chance to prove her innocence, but in reality, his heart had already leaned towards Sang Qiao’s side.

When Sang Qiao got home, she heard Grandma Su pacing back and forth anxiously. Instinctively, she approached and asked, “Grandma, what’s wrong?”
“Xingxing hasn’t come back yet, and it’s so late. She’s always been coming home on time for quite some time now, and I can’t reach her on the phone. I’m afraid something might’ve happened,” Grandma Su fretted, her eyes red from worry, clutching her phone after having made over a dozen calls.
She had even asked their homeroom teacher, only to find out that the child had left school after class. In the past, even when Xingxing would hang out in questionable places, she would still answer her phone, but today was different.
“Don’t panic, let’s first ask her friends who she usually keeps in contact with and the places she frequently visits.”
Sang Qiao frowned slightly, also feeling that something was amiss. From her interactions with Xingxing, she knew that although the girl was rebellious, she usually stuck to her promises.
“Yes, yes, yes, I’ll ask around,” Grandma Su said as she moved to the side with her phone, making several calls before noting down some addresses.
“I’ll go have a look at these places.” @@novelbin@@
“Grandma, I’ll join you, and we can search different areas.”
“Alright, alright.”
Sang Qiao didn’t want Grandma Su to search in too chaotic of places, so she advised her to look around the school, while she herself went to the internet cafes and bars that Su Nuanying often frequented.
Upon arriving at the scene, she couldn’t help but think that Dynasty was actually quite good, not chaotic at all.
Compared to Dynasty, which was orderly and clean, this small bar was a mess with shards of glass on the floor and a sour stench filling the air.
The bar was quite small, allowing her to see the entire place at a glance, and she immediately spotted the group of young gangster girls in the corner.
It was no wonder she recognized her right away; Su Nuanying, with her hair freshly dyed back to black, sat conspicuously out of place amidst the girls with their brightly colored hair.
Sang Qiao walked over briskly and knocked on the table, her voice sweet, “Time to go home.”
Su Nuanying looked up, her face flushed with guilt, “Co… cousin, this was just an accident today.”
“Su Nuanying, is this the cousin who made you dye your hair back? What are you scared of her for? Don’t tell me you’re that useless,” one of the girls challenged.
“That’s right, that’s right! If you’re that pathetic, you won’t have a place in our group in the future!”
“I second that, you haven’t hung out with us in ages, always acting like a good student—so weird and antisocial.”
The gang of tough girls spoke with conviction, clearly giving her an ultimatum—if she dared leave, it would mean the end of their friendship.
Su Nuanying looked left and right with particular difficulty. She wanted to follow her cousin home, but she was also afraid that her group of friends would get angry.
Sang Qiao raised an eyebrow as if she could read her mind. “A good friend wouldn’t get mad just because someone decides to go home early.”
“What do you mean by that? Are you saying we don’t treat Xingxing like a good friend?” One of the girls with red hair slammed her glass onto the table and pointed at her with displeasure.
“Your cousin looks like a goody-two-shoes too. I hate that type the most, clearly trying to drive a wedge between us!”
“Su Nuanying, you’ve dyed your hair back to normal, and that’s one thing. But now you’re not even having fun when you rarely go out with us. That’s just pathetic!”
“Cut it out, my cousin isn’t like that. How about we hang out another day?”
Su Nuanying, fearing the group would bully her cousin, promptly stood up and placed herself in front of her cousin.
“No way, you can’t leave today. You stay right here; I want to see what your cousin can do to you.” Red hair pulled her behind.
At home, she was often intimidated by those who were a few years older than her, criticized for not pursuing a proper path, having weird hair, even looked down upon, as they haughtily lectured her.
And to satisfy their vanity, they would compare her with others.
She hated these types of people the most!
No matter what, today she wouldn’t allow Su Nuanying to continue being bullied by her cousin.
Su Nuanying was anxious. “My cousin is really good to me. You’ve got it all wrong.”
“Grandma Su is very worried about her. She has to come with me now,” Sang Qiao said, lifting her eyelids slightly, sensing that Red hair was just, only misguided.
While responding, Sang Qiao took out her phone from her pocket and sent a message to Grandma Su, telling her she had found Xingxing and to go home first.
“No way. Don’t try to fool us with the elder card. There’s no chance you’re taking Su Nuanying with you. If you don’t leave now, don’t blame us for being inhospitable!”
As Red hair spoke, she assumed an extremely defensive posture, the other girls with various colored hair also stood up and surrounded her.
Blocked behind and extremely anxious, Su Nuanying said, “My cousin is really nice, don’t be impulsive.”
However, the girls with multicolored hair acted as if they didn’t hear her voice at all.
“Is it that if I beat you up, you’ll let me take Xingxing away?” Sang Qiao’s lips curled into a faint smile.
“Pfft, no, we’re not bullies like that. We don’t do group fights. If you can beat me one-on-one, I’ll let you take her away, how’s that?”
Red hair flicked her hair and thought this cousin was really asking for it. Her skills were the best among the girls in their school!
“Fine, but this isn’t a good place to fight, is it?” Sang Qiao glanced at the surrounding tables and chairs.
“Let’s go to the alley next to the entrance, where there’s more space. You’re so delicate; I’ll go easy on you. But let’s get one thing straight, a bet’s a bet.”
Red hair sized her up and, honestly, quite liked this pretty sister. She wouldn’t want to go too hard on her, only to prove a point and make her back down!
“Done,” Sang Qiao agreed without hesitation, and the group walked out en masse.
Su Nuanying ran over, sandwiching herself between the two, not very reassured. “Are you really going to fight?”
“What’s there to be afraid of? I’ll be gentle with your cousin!”
“Cousin, let’s just drop it, she’s trained in Sanda,” Su Nuan said, trying to persuade her cousin as Red hair seemed set on fighting.
Just judging from their heights and weights, it was clear her cousin would lose, not to mention the other girl’s Sanda training.
But when it came to choosing between going home with her cousin or staying, she just couldn’t make up her mind.
She didn’t want to lose her friends, nor did she want to upset her cousin. Yet, she also wanted to see Fu Xing.
What do you think?
