Chapter 506: 382. Lia and Cream, Aiko's Red Nose
Chapter 506: 382. Lia and Cream, Aiko’s Red Nose
Li Wen and the others felt a great relief and their bodies felt lighter.
“So, those two really ended up together?”
“We can’t let outsiders snatch our cabbages! Aside from being a bit off, Lia is pretty good in all other aspects, at least she never owes money at my shop.”
“By the way, I heard Lin Da’s title has changed to what was it… Lust Demon, right?”
“Ah? Really?”
A group of old neighbors looked at each other in bewilderment.
Lin Da looked like an upright adventurer, how could he possibly be a Lust Demon?
Nowadays, newspapers will do anything to catch the eye…
Apart from the core fans of Phoenix Tail Flower Support Group, the old folks of Willow Leaf Street who watched the leader of the Snow Goose Adventure Team grow up also trust Lin Da unconditionally.
…
Inside the cake shop.
“Aww, it’s been three years, yet the strawberry cake here tastes just the same, delicious!”
Lia held a fork and knife, happily cradling her cheeks.
Lin Da, who sat opposite her, looked around; Auntie’s Cake Shop was just as it had always been, with a display cabinet outside, transparent glass walls, a few compartments, an old little round table, and free hot water… only the owner had gotten fatter than before.
Lin Da picked up a fork, forked a piece of cake, and put it into his mouth.
Besides sweet, there weren’t many other flavors.
“It’s actually not that tasty.”
Lin Da lowered his voice to avoid being heard by Auntie who was baking bread outside.
With Lia’s current financial status, even if she couldn’t afford Epic Equipment, she could definitely afford some fine pastries from Mary’s Handicraft Workshop. The taste difference was huge; Mary’s strawberry cake was five times tastier than this one, eating it made her feel like she had become a strawberry.
“But I still like eating this one.” Lia forked another piece into her mouth and while chewing, she mumbled vaguely, “Eating this makes me recall the poor old days, and thinking about now, it makes me feel very satisfied.”
“Bitter-sweet nostalgia?”
After Lia said that, Lin Da tasted the strawberry cake again and surprisingly found it tastier than before.
“Right, I have something for you.”
Lia took out a white fresh-keeping box from her space ring, containing a piece of strawberry cake similar to what Lin Da was eating.
But the strawberries on top were bigger, deep red, from the tenth layer’s “Sunshine Strawberries.”
“Don’t get me wrong, I was making cakes for Chloe and the others yesterday and accidentally made too many. It felt wasteful to throw them away, so I thought I’d give them to you! It’s definitely not made specially for you, so don’t overthink it!”
Seeing Lin Da’s odd look, Lia frantically waved her hands to explain.
“Hurry up and eat!”
Seeing Lin Da was reluctant, Lia aggressively cut a big piece, blushed as she stood up, holding the knife and fork approaching Lin Da.
Could it be coming now? Lia’s true motive!
Lin Da braced himself, readying to face whatever came.
Lia: “Ah—”
“?”
Lin Da furrowed his brows in confusion.
“Don’t just stare, open up!” Lia, with her face turning redder, pulled down the visor of her baseball cap and urged, “Otherwise the cream is going to fall off.”
“I have hands myself.”
“But doesn’t Lulu feed you this way! Eat it, eat up for your missy!”
Lin Da’s eyes gradually widened.
He approximately understood, this was Lia showing goodwill to him.
Although he didn’t know the exact reason, Lia, who usually did not regard him highly and treated him like an inferior employee, had specially made a handmade strawberry cake to show goodwill to him.
Lia was actually willing to waste her time for someone else.
This really was a sight to behold!
Lin Da was greatly shocked, and even thought that this must be a prank from some entertainment show.
“Are you sure that was made for me?”
“What are you thinking! It was too much and I was going to throw it away, so I might as well throw it into your mouth!”
Lia retorted.
The piece of strawberry cake, neatly packed in a Tupperware, didn’t have a convincing argument in its untouched state, it seemed to smack Lia right in the face the longer it stayed intact.
She must have realized this herself, which is why she was so eager to shove the cake into Lin Da’s mouth.
“This doesn’t seem like a prank,”
Lin Da observed Lia’s face, blushing so fiercely it seemed almost dripping, and nodded secretly to himself.
“Ahem, in light of your efforts,” Lin Da reluctantly opened his mouth, “just this once. I really don’t want my teammates to know about this.”
“Your Miss is in the same boat,”
Lia, cheeks burning hot, tremblingly reached out with a fork holding an enormous piece of cake, shoving it towards Lin Da’s mouth.
“This, this seems like something only couples would do, right?” Lia suddenly blurted out.
“Pfft!”
Just as Lin Da was about to swallow, Lia’s words scared him to the core.
His mouth exploded like a burst pipe, spraying cake everywhere.
“Wah!”
Lia’s hands, front, and face were all covered with cream.
“Are you, are you insane!”
Lia’s voice quivered with urgency.
If someone saw this, or worse, if some unscrupulous journalist captured it, her reputation would be ruined!
Lia glared fiercely at Lin Da like an angry wildcat, wishing she could scratch him bloody.
But with the situation so pressing, she hurried off to find a bathroom.
—At that moment, outside the transparent glass wall, a flash from the Magic Guide Camera flickered.
In a blue trash can, Kami, with a bag of fruit scraps on her head, excitedly watched the scene captured in the Magic Guide Camera:
Lia, looking desperately flustered, her face smeared with cream, dashed towards the restroom as if terrified of being seen. Opposite her, coincidentally, was Lin Da, in the middle of “adjusting his trousers’ seams.”
When two such coincidences came together, they formed an indescribable “reality”!
Kami could already foresee the heated scenes when the next issue of the White Dove Morning News went on sale!
[Shock! Lin Da allegedly slaps Snow Goose’s team leader!]
This was definitely going to sell like crazy!
Meanwhile, from another trash can came the sound of teeth gritting…
Aiko’s fingers were bitten till they bled, her eyeballs turning green with jealousy.
“What about the leftovers for Klrona and others,
what about accidentally making too much,
so the red-haired dwarf was busy with this all of last night…
I should have thought of this, damn it, damn it!
A stinking Lia, how could she make a non-poisonous strawberry cake in one night!”
Aiko was in total denial, unable to admit that, just Lia, had a much higher culinary talent than her!
About an hour later, Lin Da and Lia walked out of the store.
Aiko, hiding in the trash can, continued to observe through a small hole she had poked.@@novelbin@@
She only saw Lia getting subtly closer to Lin Da.
Then…
She took the initiative to grab Lin Da’s wrist???
Lin Da hesitated for a moment but didn’t resist?
What the heck is happening here!
Just throw that red-haired dwarf over your shoulder and out!
Aiko’s mentality completely shattered.
She could virtually see herself, at the grand Oath-bound ceremony, nibbling on Lin Da’s wedding sweets, faking a smile while looking utterly pathetic.
In the trash can, the black thing is the garbage bag, the white one is the drink bottle,
and the red one, that’s Aiko’s nose!
What do you think?
