Chapter 507: 383, The Three Heroes of the Grass, new character Anna
In the third trash can, a girl’s laughter burst forth, unable to contain itself, sounding like a broody hen’s clucking “giggle giggle giggle.”
Anna, standing on Ferdy’s head, peered through the slit of the trash can lid and saw a scene that appeared to involve Lia being…?
Excitement flushed her cheeks, and her heart thumped wildly with excitement. Under the surge of emotion, traces of blood-red magic power started to seep out of her body like vapor.
Below her, Ferdy, who was being used as a seat, was shocked. What was going on? Wasn’t the young lady originally a frail and combat-challenged waste of space, no better than a hen?
And now, he was sensing a sliver of extremely sinister and cold magic power within her?
Unbeknownst to anyone, Anna had progressed from a person without any magic power to a level 2 adventurer.
...
The cause of all this seemed to be Anna witnessing the “affectionate” scene between Lin Da and Lia?
Ferdy’s head was about to be cooked dry from overthinking.
Anna had anticipated this. A smirk formed on her lips as she proudly thought: This is the power of the “Embrace of Pain.”
To embrace pain is to unleash the dormant strength within.
Seeing Lin Da fall into Lia’s hands, Anna’s heart felt as though it was being mercilessly whipped, causing excruciating agony. Power began to emerge, little by little, from the silent core of her spiritual world!
“Lin Da is already at level 36. I need to suffer more to recover to Star Rank!”
Anna murmured to herself.
She was an extremely rare “Bloodline” adventurer, not countering any particular attribute but possessing some special abilities that other attributes lacked.
Wanting to regain her Star Rank strength sooner, Anna decided to increase her efforts in assisting Lia and Aiko, needing to witness even more painfully green-as-black scenes.
Within the trash can, Anna’s eerie snickering sounded like ghostly demon whispers, causing Ferdy to break out in goosebumps.
Although that journalist and the Light Mage were quite twisted,
the most twisted of them all still had to be their own Young Lady!
…
“Who’s there?”
Lin Da looked back suspiciously.
After a long stare, there was nothing but three serene trash cans behind him.
Was it an illusion?
With the Phoenix Tail Flower being all the rage recently, its haters had increased significantly along with a slew of paparazzi. Lin Da’s nerves had become abnormal.
“Seems I’m making a mountain out of a molehill. It’s not possible that each of these trash cans has a reporter hiding inside it.”
Lin Da shook his head and couldn’t help thinking with a chuckle.
Lin Da and Lia exited Auntie’s Cake Shop and strolled down Willow Leaf Street.
Pulling his wrist back from Lia’s palm, Lin Da closed his eyes, quietly feeling the remnants of the Starfire Douqi within him.
“You’ve really improved in controlling your Battle Qi. Perhaps you could even develop Fusion Finishing Skills.”
Lin Da nodded in appreciation.
Fusion Finishing Skills could amplify their strength beyond the sum of their parts, and in games, a fortunate few characters could even merge with three or five people to release finishing skills of terrifying power.
Lia’s Explosive Flame Slash, after grasping a fraction of Starfire Douqi, had evolved into the Starfire Airstream Slash. If he could merge with her, the power would undoubtedly be formidable.
“Really?”
Lia hadn’t quite caught what Lin Da was saying, and quickly retracted her hand, shoving it into her pocket.
‘I’m an adult adventurer now. Holding hands is a normal thing for adult adventurers, nothing to be flustered about!’
Lia mentally bolstered herself.
She sneaked a glance at Lin Da and noticed he acted as if nothing of importance was happening, which made her realize the gap in their strength.
Recalling what Aiko had said to her, Lin Da was definitely no longer a virgin… The big Lolita of the Phoenix Tail Flowers, Lulu, the maid, all had fallen prey to Lin Da’s charms.
Lia’s heart twisted as if she had eaten a piece of spoiled cloth.
She wasn’t sure if she could be considered a pure-hearted adventurer, but as long as she could adventure with Lin Da and he cared for her, that was enough.
The jealousy and contention among the female leads in the comic books for a male’s attention seemed utterly childish to Lia. A bunch of people not even considering how to defeat legendary Magical Creatures, but instead vying for a man’s favor… Hah, surely those were the brainless creations of a brainless author, far from reality.
“Make way!”
“Everyone charge, or there won’t be any spots left!”@@novelbin@@
“Rawr rawr rawr, ‘Mind’s Eye’ Abner, my favorite live event!”
A horde of adventurers emerged from nowhere, charging toward the Adventurers’ Guild branch up ahead like frenzied zombies.
Footsteps chaotic and dense, the muddy water on the ground splashed about with each step.
Some of it, unfortunately, splattered onto Lia’s red skirt.
Lin Da caught a glimpse of Lia’s darkened face and mentally offered his condolences to the guy who had just run past.
True to form, Lia suddenly reached out, a red afterimage pulled by her Fire Fighting Qi, and yanked the adventurer who had splashed the mud by the back of his collar.
“Where do you think you’re going, my dress is dirty can’t you see? Pay up, 1000 Gold Coins!”
Lia glared angrily at the leopard adventurer, instantly marking up the price of her skirt by a hundredfold.
“What the hell if I dirtied your skirt…”
The leopard people’s manners were on a par with Lia’s, as they opened their mouths to spout nonsense.
But catching sight of Lia’s upside-down eyebrows, the person sobered up instantly, stammering, “L-Lia, why are you still on Willow Leaf Street? I-I-I didn’t do it on purpose!”
“Who are you, pay up!”
“It’s not my fault, blame it on Abner!
If the White Dove Adventure Group didn’t stream their strategy for the 19th floor, I wouldn’t have rushed over here so excitedly, and I wouldn’t have splashed mud on your dear skirt.
In the end, it’s all Abner’s fault! It has nothing to do with me!”
The leopard person squeezed out a face uglier than crying, dropping to his knees without dignity: “Please, for the sake of ‘King of Hunters’ Pick, let me go just like a fart!”
This sort of cliché that had been used by villains thirty years ago did not awaken any sympathy in Lia.
However, Lia paid attention to a few key words in the first half of Pick’s sentence: 19th floor, Abner.
Lia’s mind switched from “daily life” to “adventure” in an instant, her entire demeanor transforming on the spot.
She exchanged a look with Lin Da, both noting the solemn expressions on each other’s faces.
Abner leading the White Dove Adventure Group to challenge the 19th floor of the Mystic Realm!
Today, Pick was in luck as he had found the only way that could awaken Lia’s compassion.
Such an important live event would excite any adventurer.
Lia empathized, understanding Pick completely.
The 19th-floor Mystic Realm, Nightmare Guardian… For all the adventure teams in White Dove City, it was like a trophy made of solid gold.
Lia, Lin Da, and even Abner and Isa, were all competitors.
As the only four Iron Level adventure teams currently in White Dove City, each wanted to be the one to lift that trophy.
Even though Lia might have indefinable feelings for Lin Da, she would never yield to him on this matter.
What do you think?
