Chapter 108: You Brought Something Out of the Instance?!
Yu Li hadn’t just fooled the audience and players—she also tricked the rating system.
That evil spirit? It wasn’t even worth mentioning to her. She had once used it as a literal handrest—how could a few drops of blood make it so powerful?
Everything the others had witnessed was just a play she and Bo Jingmo had put on.
The goal? To win over the audience’s favor.
And clearly, it worked.
The air was thick with humid, steamy heat and an indescribable sweet scent. The smell on the woman’s body was addictive to the man. His palm cradled the back of her head, breath ragged, eyes glowing with intensity, like he wanted to devour the person in his arms.
Bo Jingmo lowered his gaze, kissing the woman’s eyes, then moved to the nape of her neck, which was soaked with that rich fragrance—like a wild dog marking its territory.
Her inner garment had been pulled slightly aside, revealing a smooth, pale shoulder. Her jet-black hair fell over it, making her skin look even more flawless, begging to be touched.
She reached up and wrapped her arms around his neck, her eyes slightly narrowed. Her clothes half-off, chin tilted up, her stunning, seductive beauty made her look like a fox spirit feeding off desire. Her fingers played with the ends of his hair, voice tender and breathy from their entanglement: “Time’s almost up. You’re leaving soon.”
Bo Jingmo kissed the corner of her lips, covering her in kiss after kiss, filled with reluctant affection. His voice held a hint of grievance: “But this is the only time we get to be alone.”In the instance, it was always either the camera or other players around—he rarely had time alone with Lili.
“No choice, I’m a key NPC.” Yu Li leaned forward and kissed his cheek. “I’ll make it up to you next time, okay?”
She smiled and bit his earlobe playfully. Her red lips released a teasing breath: “And there’s still one more reward. I haven’t given it to you yet.”
Bo Jingmo didn’t say anything. He just held her tighter.
Yu Li leaned against his shoulder, turned her head to look at his side profile, her fingertip brushing over his Adam’s apple, gently pressing with a teasing rhythm. Her voice was soft: “Bo Jingmo, next time we meet, I don’t want you to hide anything from me. If you act like you do with everyone else, I’ll be mad. Got it?”
At her words, a flicker of panic crossed the man’s face. He turned and kissed her cheek, trying to appease her: “I won’t. Don’t be mad, Lili.”
Yu Li paused, lazily lifted her eyelids, and glanced at him: “Lili?”
She asked deliberately, “Who’s that, Bo Jingmo?”
Bo Jingmo froze. He’d always remembered that Yu Li hadn’t regained her memory, so he’d been careful not to call her name in the instance. But just now, he’d accidentally blurted it out.
After a brief silence, he lowered his head and nuzzled her face: “It’s you.”
Yu Li let out a soft laugh, but before she could say anything, a voice echoed in her mind.
【Sister, it’s time to go.】
At the same time, Bo Jingmo received the same message. A red glow flashed in his eyes. His cool lips pressed gently against her hair. His voice was slow but solemn: “Next time, I’ll come find you first.”
Yu Li raised her brow and smiled at him: “Sure.”
–
When she opened her eyes again, the familiar ceiling above her came into view.
Yu Li closed her eyes for a few seconds, then picked up her phone. Seeing she had class that afternoon, she turned off the screen and set it aside.
She sat up. Her other two roommates had already gone to class. Only Mu Chengsi was still in the dorm, though it looked like she was getting ready to head out too.
Yu Li didn’t interact with her much. She ran a hand through her hair, ready to get out of bed, when Mu Chengsi suddenly turned her head. Her eyes lingered on Yu Li’s face for a few seconds. “Sleep well?”
Yu Li: ?
She nodded and smiled politely. “Pretty good. Why?”
“No reason, just checking in.”
Mu Chengsi paused briefly while packing her bag, then casually asked: “Heard you’re pretty close with Bo Jingmo? I saw him come looking for you last time.”
At that name, Yu Li’s movements paused.
She got down from the bed, answering conventionally: “I guess. Senior Bo’s a nice guy.”
Mu Chengsi’s eyes flickered, and she just said “oh” without asking more. She picked up her bag and walked to the door. “I’m heading out.”
“Okay, bye~” Yu Li waved at her with a bright smile.
As soon as the door closed, the smile disappeared from her face. She sat in her chair, lost in thought.
“Sister, sister, what are you doing today?”
Yu Li leaned on her desk, pointed at the textbooks on it, and raised a brow: “Prepping for class.”
She’d be teaching the day after tomorrow, so she needed to be ready ahead of time. She just didn’t know what the kids would be like.
Something seemed to cross her mind, and she paused for a moment.
Speaking of kids…
She seemed to have brought something back.
The system then saw Yu Li pull out a pitch-black object from who-knows-where. The little thing stood up slowly after being placed on the desk—it looked like a tiny shadow person.
The little black shadow seemed to really like the scent on Yu Li. Even after being placed on the desk, it wanted to climb back onto her hand.
The system looked on curiously: “Sister, what is that?”
Yu Li pointed at the tiny shadow, resting her chin in her hand with a lazy tone: “That evil spirit from the instance.”
“Oh oh, so it’s the ev—…”
Realizing something, the system’s voice trailed off, and then its mechanical baby tone turned utterly shocked. “Sister, you brought something from the instance back with you?!”
“It insisted on following me.” Yu Li glanced at the little thing on the desk and leaned back in her chair. “Don’t worry, I swapped it out with something else. No one will notice.”
She jerked her chin at the shadow, the corners of her lips curving up slightly. “Mainly, I really like its abilities.”
It could release corrosive blood and gas—might come in handy later.
Seeing how curious the system looked, she patted its glowing orb. “Also thought I’d find you a little companion. Outsiders can’t see either of you.”
“Yay!”
Hearing it was a new companion, the system instantly got excited. It didn’t care anymore that it came from an instance. Since Sister said it was fine, then it had to be!
It floated onto the desk. The tiny shadow stirred when it saw the system, slowly scooting closer and extending a little black tendril to touch it.
A ghost and a system—turns out they could actually get along.
Yu Li smiled at the sight, leaving them alone as she twirled a pen and mulled over the situation.
She had seen Qi Mai in the last instance—at the bar, together with Cen Xiu.
And based on the livestream comments, the game had various player teams.
For example: deva and peace.
The peace team’s style was obvious—lots of cooperation and support between teammates.
Thinking of this, Yu Li sighed and leaned into her chair.
What a shame. That didn’t match her style.
As for deva…
Yu Li’s expression grew thoughtful. Her fingers spun the pen around. She didn’t have the game system, so even if she knew about the teams, she couldn’t get more info.
So she needed to find a trustworthy player.
Suddenly, her fingers paused. Yu Li’s brow arched, and she chuckled softly.
Looks like, after all that circling around… she was going back to someone she already knew.
Meanwhile, in a room painted with cold gray tones, a man slowly opened his eyes.
He lay in bed for a moment, then picked up his phone to check his messages.
When he saw that the pinned contact hadn’t sent anything, his eyes dimmed slightly.
Just then, his phone buzzed.
What do you think?
