"Wow, that's amazing. There's really something here. But hey, how come you didn’t move? I swear I heard a sound!"

"Mikael?"
Chris gave Mikael a gentle shake, but the boy remained completely still, as if transfixed by something.
"Mikael!"
"Uh? Uh? Did you call me?"
"What's up? Why are you staring so intently?"
"Well, it’s just…"
Even as his words trailed off, Mikael slowly shifted his gaze. What had initially looked like a tiny black dot was now clearly approaching.
"You're riding a horse? Who is that? It doesn't look like your uncle."
Horses were too expensive to be common in the village—only James would sometimes ride in.
"Should we inform the village chief? The adults always say that when a stranger arrives, we must let him know."
