Apocalypse: I have a supermarket stocked with supplies

Chapter 43: Teleportation Supermarket

Chapter 43: Teleportation Supermarket

Su Yinhe had set the timer for three in the morning, a time when most people are weary and wouldn’t attract too much attention.

All Su Yinhe could think about was how drowsy people would be, not noticing much. But she had forgotten that such a large supermarket was bound to catch the eye.

Someone on night watch had to relieve themselves urgently and ran out of the cave to take care of business, just happening to notice a small corner of the supermarket.

Night watches were inherently dull, and curiosity got the better of them, so they ran through the pouring rain to take a closer look.

They then saw a brightly lit five-story supermarket.

Seeing it, they thought they were dreaming—how else could there be a supermarket here, and with the lights on?

...

Unable to restrain themselves, they hastened their steps and finally reached the supermarket’s front door and couldn’t resist pushing on the glass door.

It didn’t budge.

After a moment, they slapped themselves hard across the face.

It hurt.

Not a dream.

They glanced around once more—no one was there.

Although they had no idea why there was a supermarket here, it clearly was their stroke of fortune. So many things just for the taking, if they sold some later, they’d strike it rich.

No more groveling for a bowl of sloppy food.

This person hadn’t connected the supermarket in front of them with the one that had caused a sensation at the base.

Being a lowly character who could hardly afford meals, let alone gold. Such useless stuff, they had never bothered collecting it, nor had they the luxury to.

Hearing it required exchanging gold, they lost interest and went back to work.

Moreover, they couldn’t have imagined that the supermarket could teleport.

The man struggled for a long time but still couldn’t push the supermarket door open; having no superpower, he couldn’t break in using one.

He had no choice but to look around and found a rock, then summoned all his strength to smash it against the door.

Glass, usually, shatters at the slightest impact. But to the man’s astonishment, his attempts left not a single crack on the glass door.

He was dumbfounded.

How could it be unbreakable.

Refusing to believe this, he found an even larger rock, still to no avail. Pressing his face against the glass, he yearned for the items inside resentfully.

Finally, he reluctantly turned back, looking over his shoulder every few steps—he was going to find help.

He couldn’t break it, but a Superpower User surely could. He knew a Gold Element Superpower User; if he brought them over to transform into an axe, surely it would break then.

Though this meant that most of the goods would belong to that Superpower User and he’d only get a small share of the loot.

But that sure beat having nothing.

The man brought over his friend, the Gold Element Superpower User, but even when they tried hacking at the glass door with an axe for a long time, it remained unscathed.

Out of options, the Gold Element Superpower User then fetched a Fire Element Superpower User, who tried to melt the glass with fire for a long while, but the glass showed no sign of melting.

They went on to enlist the help of an Earth Element Superpower User, a Wood-element Superpower User, a Thunder Power User, an Ice Ability User…

When Su Yinhe sneaked out early in the rain to check on the supermarket, she discovered a circle of Superpower Users around her Galaxy Supermarket, showing off their powers, hammering and striking at the glass door.

Su Yinhe: “!!!”

“What are you doing?!” That was her precious Galaxy Supermarket!

“Who are you?” Qin Mingzhou, the first Gold Element Superpower User the man had brought over, asked the furious Su Yinhe as she charged up.

Qin Mingzhou had been rudely awoken by the distressed man early in the morning. The man had confidentially told him about a large supermarket on the mountain top, still stocked with plenty of goods.

At first, he didn’t believe it, thinking the man was delirious from a dream. But due to the man’s insistence and swearing, reluctantly still groggy from sleep, he ventured out into the rainfall to see for himself.

He was determined that if there was nothing there, he’d give the man a good thrashing.

Getting out of bed in such a mood wasn’t easy.

And it was an inconvenience to come out in such heavy rain.

But, unexpectedly, a colossal supermarket indeed stood out atop the mountain.

Initially, he thought it was secretly constructed by the higher-ups of the base. But the more he looked, the less it made sense; sure there were lights, but not a soul in sight.

If it were built by people from the base, surely they would have guarded it heavily, not leaving it so unprotected.

After pondering for a while, Qin Mingzhou took an axe to chop at it, but no matter how long he chopped, he couldn’t make a dent, so he started calling people, but even the friends he shook down couldn’t do the job, so he shook down more people.

As he shook people down, nearly all the Superpower Users in the cave ended up being called over.

And yet with so many people, they still couldn’t take down the glass door.

Somebody who’d been to the Galaxy Supermarket said this supermarket kind of reminded them of the Galaxy Supermarket.

But they couldn’t be sure. They hadn’t imagined the supermarket could teleport.

So after speaking for a bit, they joined the team, using every means to try to smash the glass.

“I’m the owner of this supermarket!” Su Yinhe’s tone was fierce.

Who wouldn’t get angry seeing a big group of people pounding at the gates of their own home?

“You?” Qin Mingzhou sized up Su Yinhe with an obvious skepticism.

Su Yinhe had come wearing a raincoat, wrapped up tight.

She was thin and small.

She didn’t seem the part.

That was the conclusion Qin Mingzhou came to after sizing her up.

“You say it’s yours just because you say so? This wilderness, I could say it’s mine too.” Qin Mingzhou couldn’t bear to let go of such a big supermarket.

There was so much stuff.

After the apocalypse for so long, who wasn’t lacking things?

Qin Mingzhou was a powerful Gold Element Superpower User; he didn’t worry about food and drink, but he still lacked some rare items.

“Tsk. Yours? Call it and see if it responds?” Su Yinhe looked at him with disdain.

Not a bad face, and the figure’s not too shabby either. How can he be so shameless?

“Miss, supermarkets don’t talk. You’re being unreasonable,” Qin Mingzhou, who had been busy for so long, just couldn’t bear to give up the supermarket.

No matter whose supermarket it was, he had to get something out of it.

“Heh. But if I call it, it responds.”

Su Yinhe took out a tablet, tapped it a few times.

Then she knocked on the glass door, raised an eyebrow, and said, “Tell him, am I or am I not the owner here?”

As soon as her words had fallen, an electronic voice as startling as thunder rang out.

[Yes, Master.]

Qin Mingzhou’s playfully disdainful smile froze.

Fuck!

The supermarket could talk?!

The other Superpower Users were startled by the voice as well and quickly assumed defensive postures.

It’s insane, since when does anyone’s supermarket talk?

Seeing their expressions, Su Yinhe snorted; her supermarket, her call.

Qin Mingzhou, quick to react after his initial shock, swiftly shifted his approach.

“Sister, how will you sell these things?” Qin Mingzhou still had principles; since he couldn’t take the items by force, he’d buy them. Such a big supermarket, just a young girl guarding it, must be tough, right?

Sell him some goods at a discount, and he’d help out, make his presence felt. Keep others from bullying her.

Su Yinhe: “???”

Look at that, is that even human speech?

Who taught you to flip-flop like that.

She recalled she didn’t know this person, so where did he get the nerve to take advantage of her? And want to play her big brother.

She spat.

Is the role of her brother something just anyone can assume?

“Sister, open the door, standing in such heavy rain isn’t good. We’re men, it’s fine for us to be in the rain. You’re a girl, it would be bad if you got soaked,” Qin Mingzhou’s tone was sincere, unknowing folks might think he was some remarkably good brother.
