Chapter 44: Peerless Good Brother
Chapter 44: Peerless Good Brother
“Su Yinhe’s mouth twitched, she simply couldn’t fathom how someone could have such a thick skin.
But she didn’t want to keep getting drenched either. Although she was wearing a raincoat, the heavy rain still stung as it hit her.
After she opened the door and went in, Qin Mingzhou shamelessly followed her inside. The rest of the Superpower Users queued up like they were waiting their turn, trailing in after Qin Mingzhou.
The Superpower User who thought the supermarket resembled Galaxy Supermarket even said to someone next to him that he indeed hadn’t recognized the place wrongly.
Once the group of people entered, they wet the floor.
“Oops. Sorry, little sis, we’ll definitely have someone mop the floor for you when we leave.”
...
Su Yinhe: “I don’t recall having a brother.”@@novelbin@@
Qin Mingzhou clapped his hands, “How coincidental. You’ve got one now. I was wondering why I dreamt of magpies last night; turns out it’s because I was going to meet you today, little sister.”
Su Yinhe: “…”
Numb.
So shameless.
“Get out. If you want to buy something, use gold, it can be exchanged over there,” Su Yinhe pointed at the little robot. She wouldn’t let him cozy up to her and then expect a discount.
To be a boss, one must learn not to be too human.
“Gold, huh… Big brother didn’t bring any today, can I run a tab?” Qin Mingzhou asked with a mischievous grin.
“Small business here, strictly no credit.” Her main selling point was cold indifference. Once you give credit to one, the next will expect it too, and then how will business carry on?
She wasn’t running a charity.
“Such a big supermarket, and you still call it small, little sister. Just put it on my tab, and I promise nobody will dare trouble you later.” It wasn’t bragging on his part; as a Level 10 Gold Element Superpower User, Qin Mingzhou could assure protection to anyone, and no one would dare to disturb them.
Others couldn’t even beg for such favor.
He wanted to help simply because he found his “little sister” attractive and owned a supermarket.
“No need,” Su Yinhe declined, not in the least bit interested. She was no ordinary person and her supermarket was no ordinary supermarket; unless someone bombed it with a nuclear weapon, she wouldn’t be scared at all.
“If you want to buy something, buy it. If not, leave.” Every other word, calling her “little sister” and trying to take advantage on first meeting, he must have been beaten up many times before.
“Little sister is so heartless,” Qin Mingzhou said, looking at her with a face full of pity, “If you ever need help in the future, you can come to big brother. My name’s Qin Mingzhou. The Qin of my name, the Ming of my name, and the Zhou of my name.”
This guy probably had a lot in common with Lin Murong. Hearing his self-introduction, Su Yinhe thought of Lin Murong. That’s how Lin Murong introduced himself at first.
Lin Murong had stood guard during the first half of the night and was likely sound asleep by now.
She was going to head back later to tell them about the supermarket moving location, so they wouldn’t worry if they couldn’t find her early in the morning.
“I got it, I got it. If you want to buy things, then buy,” Su Yinhe waved her hand dismissively. She really didn’t want another brother popping up.
“But seriously, besides gold, do you accept anything else?” Qin Mingzhou came from a wealthy family with strong superpowers; he certainly had gold. But it was a rushed trip to the supermarket, and he didn’t bring many of the things he needed.
Let alone the not-so-useful gold.
“I really didn’t bring any,” Qin Mingzhou thought of running a tab first, planning to go back home and fetch the gold after the water receded.
The other Superpower Users following behind all nodded in unison. If Qin Mingzhou hadn’t brought any, it was even less likely they had.
But they couldn’t bear to leave the supermarket with so many goods at their fingertips.
Someone had already decided that if it came down to it, they’d just rob the place. After all, they had already made it inside, it wouldn’t sit right with them to leave empty-handed. They had been pounding on the glass outside for half a day, tired, hungry, and cold.”
People who wanted to rob her directly were the ones who hadn’t heard much about the rumors of the supermarket.
Some had heard them but did not take them to heart. They had so many people after all, and she was just a little girl. Even if her superpowers were strong, she would still be outnumbered.
Su Yinhe looked at the crowd and thought that since everyone was fleeing for their lives, they indeed wouldn’t carry gold or such things. Because they were of no use to them, at most, they’d carry a bit of food and clothing when they fled.
If she only accepted gold, then she might as well not open for business during her stay on the mountain top.
“Alright then. Besides gold, I also accept Crystal Cores.” It would be just the thing for adding a protective shield to her precious Galaxy Supermarket.
In order for a Superpower User to improve their abilities, besides using their powers to gain experience, they had to absorb Crystal Cores.
It could be said that normal Superpower Users would carry a few Crystal Cores on them to enhance their powers.
“So how do you exchange them?” Qin Mingzhou touched the few high-level crystal cores he carried with him.
Zombie Crystal Cores were tiny, the higher the level, the darker the color of the core. Zombies also had superpowers, and the color of the Crystal Cores inside the brains of different superpower-wielding Zombies also varied.
Gold Element Zombies had orange cores, Wood Element green, Water Element light blue, Fire Element red, Earth Element earthy yellow, Ice Element blue-purple, Thunder Element purple, and Spiritual system white.
The Crystal Cores in the brains of Superpower Users were similar, but their shapes were different from those of Zombies.
“Level 1 for 5, Level 2 for 10, Level 3 for 25, Level 4 for 50, Level 5 for 100, Level 6 for 500, Level 7 for 1000, Level 8 for 2000, Level 9 for 5000, Level 10 for 10000.” As Su Yinhe spoke, she took out a small blackboard and, with a piece of chalk, quickly wrote down the rates.
According to the information provided by the system, Level 6 was a watershed. Zombies below Level 6 lacked brains; even a slightly clever ordinary person could kill them. Level 6 Zombies were a bit hard, just beginning to have some intelligence, but several ordinary people working together could also take them down.
Levels above 6 were impressive, beginning to possess wisdom. Although they couldn’t compare to humans, they would skillfully use their superpowers and were quite cunning, not easily fooled by humans.
As for Level 10… that was the Zombie Emperor.
Thinking this, Su Yinhe hesitated for a moment. Was 10,000 too little for a Crystal Core from the brain of a Zombie Emperor that ruled a region?
There was not just one Zombie Emperor.
There was basically one Zombie Emperor per region, and they kept to themselves, each controlling their own Zombie minions.
But their numbers weren’t too high.
Probably around a dozen or so.
But she didn’t hesitate long. Who cared, Zombie Emperors were tough to kill, she’d deal with it when someone actually killed a Zombie Emperor.
Once Su Yinhe finished writing on the blackboard, she hung it in the most visible place, ensuring customers would see it as soon as they entered.
After hearing her prices, Qin Mingzhou accused her of being a ruthless merchant.
“Are you going to exchange or not?” Su Yinhe glanced at him.
“Exchanging.” Qin Mingzhou changed his demeanor quickly. After speaking, he threw two Crystal Cores at her—one blue and one red.
“Level 7 Crystal Cores, right? 2000 each?”
Su Yinhe touched the two Crystal Cores that Qin Mingzhou tossed to her; they were quite pretty, almost like gemstones.
After feeling them, she handed them back to Qin Mingzhou, then pointed at the small cash register robot.
“Go exchange them over there.” To be honest, she truly couldn’t tell if these were really Crystal Cores or just gemstones. Best to leave it to the robot.
With this thought, Su Yinhe quickly turned on her tablet and input the conversion rates for Crystal Cores into currency for the robot.
Qin Mingzhou nodded, looking a bit sad. “Well, I was thinking of spending more time with you, sister. I don’t like cold, emotionless robots; they are not as pretty as you, sister.”
What do you think?
