Chapter 137 137: Imagination Running Wild
After Tristan's encouragement, Manalady walked toward the BOSS with determined steps.
Soon, two pieces of loot appeared in the squad channel. Find exclusive stories on My Virtual Library Empire
Tristan's gaze grew deep.
As expected, having someone else loot the BOSS had worked wonders.
[Azect Rock Shield: Gold Grade]
Defense +600, Health +1200, Constitution +40
Level Requirement: 20
Special Effect: Reflects 10% of damage taken.
Without a doubt, this shield was for NightStalker.
NightStalker accepted it without hesitation, saying, "If there's ever a BOSS I need to tank, just let me know."
Tristan smiled, "Nice, you're really stepping up."
NightStalker stood tall, "Of course."
Manalady mumbled under her breath, "That sounds so weird."
It couldn't be helped. NightStalker's appearance was just too deceptive. Even though Manalady knew his true gender, she subconsciously still couldn't adjust to it.
GemmaS shared the same thought.
Whenever they interacted with NightStalker, there was always a slight sense of inferiority.
NightStalker pretended not to hear Manalady's muttering and placed the shield into his backpack. Since he wasn't at the required level, he couldn't equip it yet.
The second loot was a skill book.
Tristan gave a thumbs up. "You're really lucky."
Actually, in the past life, Tristan had witnessed Manalady's incredible luck. But given that this was the present, he couldn't just act like it was normal.
Manalady humbly responded, saying that it was Tristan who took down the BOSS, and that she was just tagging along.
She felt she didn't deserve any credit.
GemmaS couldn't hold back, "Alright, enough with the mutual flattery. There's no one else around."
Everyone laughed, and the atmosphere was light and happy.
After the laughter died down, Tristan examined the skill book.
[Dust Storm (Gold Grade)]
Active Skill: Raises a dust storm in the target area, reducing enemy accuracy by 30% for 10 seconds.
Cooldown: 45 seconds.
Learning Requirement: Spirit > 200.
This wasn't a damage-dealing skill, but purely for crowd control. The effect was strong enough to make up for the lack of damage.
Whether in PvP or PvE, when the dust storm hit, enemies couldn't see properly, their accuracy dropped significantly, which greatly improved the team's survival chances.
It was a really good skill.
Tristan looked at Manalady, "You looted this skill book, and since it has a spirit requirement, it should be yours."
Manalady quickly waved her hands, "I can't take it, it's too valuable."
If it was equipment, she would have no problem accepting it. But a skill book was a different matter. In the previous auction, a Gold Grade skill book like Blood Tide had fetched 40 million gold. This Dust Storm book, while not the same price, was definitely worth millions.
Manalady felt she hadn't contributed enough to accept such a valuable item.
Tristan, however, was very casual and shoved the skill book into her hands with an air of finality. "You said the BOSS was taken down by me, so how the loot is handled is up to me. I say it's yours, so take it."
Manalady hesitated, unsure.
DarkStriker stepped forward and gently patted his sister's shoulder. "Since the guild leader said so, just accept it. Worst case, I'll help you farm a Gold Grade skill book for him."
After thinking about it for a moment, Manalady agreed, her tone resolute, "You're right. I'll farm one and give it to him!"
Tristan chuckled, "I'll be waiting for the good news."
If anyone else said this, Tristan would have thought it was unlikely. But if it was Manalady, he knew he could actually expect something.
Lucky people could make things happen however they liked.
Manalady made up her mind, smacking the skill book and learning it.
With the loot distributed, Tristan spoke again, "We've beaten three BOSSes, but there's no completion prompt or materials dropped. Looks like there's at least one more BOSS."
NightStalker nodded, "That makes sense."
DarkStriker looked excited, "Starting with a Gold Grade BOSS, maybe the final one will be Dark Gold Grade."
Tristan agreed, "That's very likely."
In his previous life, Tristan had visited the Wealth Mine area, but never on the special mode. So he wasn't sure if the final BOSS would be Dark Gold Grade.
But based on his knowledge of ExoGenesis, it was very likely the last BOSS would be Dark Gold Grade.
If that was the case, it would be a huge win.
Thinking of this, Tristan turned to GemmaS, "If the final BOSS really is Dark Gold Grade, I'll give you credit for it."
The reason they were in the special mode of the Wealth Mine was all thanks to GemmaS. Without her, even if Tristan could solo BOSSes, he would still have to wait for the Wealth Mine to become a dungeon before he could farm it.
In normal conditions, even in Nightmare Difficulty, the BOSSes would only be Gold Grade at best, which was nowhere near as valuable as Dark Gold Grade.
Hearing Tristan's words, GemmaS felt a little embarrassed. She had only asked the guild for help, but in Tristan's eyes, she had become the great contributor.
To GemmaS, Tristan's image grew even more towering.
Aside from his explosive damage, his personal charm was undeniable.
There was no trace of selfishness in this man. She had received items from him worth tens of millions, things that even real-world billionaires would hesitate to give away.
But Tristan had given them without a second thought.
And it wasn't just the new members, DarkStriker and Manalady; he treated everyone equally.
"Just what kind of person is he?" GemmaS thought, admiration bubbling inside her.
NightStalker and the others had similar thoughts.
If Tristan was trying to buy loyalty, it didn't make sense. NightStalker didn't think he was special enough to deserve such treatment.
Even though NightStalker was a hidden class, there were many more powerful hidden class players across the entire Valoria region.
So the answer was simple: Tristan genuinely considered them his comrades.
This bond of friendship would be remembered forever by NightStalker.
DarkStriker had joined the guild through NightStalker's recommendation, and though he had only heard of Tristan before, this dungeon run had given him a firsthand look at Tristan's character.
Most importantly, Tristan treated his sister very well, which was enough to make DarkStriker want to repay him.
Tristan, however, had no idea that while he was simply assigning loot to strengthen the guild, GemmaS and the others had created an entire narrative in their minds.
If Tristan could see the numbers, he'd notice that their affection for him was skyrocketing rapidly.
As they were discussing the next BOSSes, a shrill voice echoed throughout the dungeon.
"Intruders, are you after Razdon's treasures too?!"
Along with the screeching, strange sounds grew louder and louder until they became deafening.
GemmaS pointed into the distance and shouted, "Oh my god, it's a plane!"
No one needed her to point it out; everyone saw the approaching object.
A distinctly goblin-styled alchemical construct—a goblin helicopter!
Inside the cockpit of the goblin helicopter sat a goblin covered in golden light.
Tristan's eyes scanned the situation, and a surge of excitement ran through him.
Dark Gold Grade BOSS!
What do you think?
