Awakened: SSS Ranked Soul king

Chapter 109: Untitled

The silhouette of guillman and the cohort members rushed through the fog until they

came upon a thick slope leading upwards.

"Climb!!" Guillman barked as they rushed towards raven's keeps gates. The keep was situated atop a wide but low hanging hill.

It protected the human slayers of old from the fog monsters the ravens lord had created.

If they wanted to survive the onslaught of the fog, they needed to reach the top of the hill and pass through the walls of the keep. Only then would they be safe from the fog.

At least that was the plan, but Unfortunately for them the thing that was pursuing them was no fog monster that couldn't survive outside the fog.

This was a mythic waning moon beast of the high lord code and its minions.

"I don't think we can out run it" Victoria muttered feeling the harrowing presence become stronger by the minute. That thing was fast and its tracking ability was superb.

It was a born predator.

"That seems to be the case" guiliman gritted his teeth, they had initially thought that the fog monsters would immediately dispatch the waning mood and completely focus on the slayers once again.

After all, the waning mood beasts were merely descendants of a great beast, even with its traits….breaking through the fog and killing all of its inhabitants was not a reasonable outcome.

The fog had stayed in this place for over a century consuming beast corpses. It was fair to say it hadn't grown weaker….it was quite possible that it might have grown stronger.

But despite all of this, the waning moon beasts seemed to be winning this clash, to the extent where one of their mythic beasts had made it so close to the wall.

"We can hold them here," seeing guiliman agreement, Victoria nodded and called upon hamdel. The original plan was for them to hold back the horde of fog monsters while guilliman and Morgan made their way into the keep.

This had not changed, the only difference was that they wouldn't be holding back fog creatures, instead they would be holding back the waning mood.

"Here, have this" guiliman pulled Victoria's hand in a jerk and sent a wave of energy to her.

[Echo transfer complete: waning moon charm(mythic-Highland)]

Guilliman had just given her his mythic charm echo, by far the most powerful echo he hsd at hand. It not only allowed him to fight, it also help to preserve his life.

this was a profound show of trust on guillmans side since he couldn't take it back by force and she would have to give him willingly.

"Hmm, thanks" Victoria looked at guillman in a brief moment of shock before nodding her head in appreciation.

She would never in all honesty as for an echo from one of her teammates. It wasn't a matter of pride but one of assurance. As the leader she couldn't be seen as a needy person. She had to put up a strong front. But she was only human.

"Yeah" guillman nodded. Her ability was too eye catching, in this place crawling with monsters, if she activated it she would become a walking target. She needed that charm more than even him

"Morgan do your thing" after confirming that she could use the charm, guilliman called upon Morgan.

"Sure" Morgan nodded promptly then with a wave of his hand, he sent several strings of erthreal thread outwards and attached them to the members of the cohort except himself and guilliman.

Once they got to the wall, he would pull them through the fog and into safety.

"Good luck" guiliman nodded and with a kick he sent ghost running into the fog infront as they climbed toward the gate.

Meanwhile,

"How's that Shield of yours?" Victoria turned to barthold and asked-

"Never better princess" Barthold smiled gripping tightly at the shield in his hand. This wasn't his first roadio, he had faced against several mythic creatures with this grand shield, though it had been in the stage of near destruction severally, he Still thought it could hold up.

"Jemie" she then looked over at the tall blonde youth on her side. Jamie when she picked him up was all talent and no experience, except for maybe guillman and Morgan….most of them were.

But during these brief few year and months she has spent with them, she had taken them through hell and back tempering them into bone breaking steel.

Each and everyone of them was an elite in their own right.

She had created quite the cohort.

"Give the order" Hamdel spoke from behind his hands adorned with several enchanted braclets and echos.

This time, he wouldn't be serving the leisure role of a mere healer. This time he would be right in the thick of it.

"Let's Slay some monsters shall we?!!" Victoria broke into a smile as she turned down at the base of the hill. There the waning mood beast could be seen visibly making its way forward with no attempts to hide its aura.

All of a sudden, sparks of light ignited around Victoria's body and her amour was very being itself was set ablaze.

Her flames shone bright, cutting through the fog and revealing their position clearly to the canin wanning beast below.

It bared its fengs and launched itself at them sending a claw down.

"Cling" Victoria met it head on, but instead of taking the full brute of its attack, she moved to its underarm and slashed at it with her claymore.

With that simple move she drew first blood, but it wasn't long before the other beasts were upon them.

Thankfully, barthold appeared in the nick of time sending a shock wave out that sent them flying backwards.

A bunch of grand beast, these things they once thought as insurmountable mountains, were now small fry for them.

Jamie flashed forward decapitating one of the disoriented grand waning beasts.

'Harder than I thought' Jamie muttered as he flashed forward and tried to take another head.

Unfortunately, he had wasted enough time for the thing to regroup, with its tail its swipe and Jamie and sent him back by several steps.

"Blurrgg" vomiting his breakfast, Jamie looked up in annoyance. That was too strong for grand beast.

'High lord?' He wondered however all of a sudden, a spike made from earth shot up from underneath the grand beast and impaled its heart.

Hamdel had joined the fray.

"Kid, they are twenty grand beasts, there's no time to contemplate…kill as many as you can in a short period" the old man suddenly appeared beside Jamie.

Victoria's balzing figure was still fighting that thing alone, they needed to kill these grand beasts so they could go over and help her.

Meanwhile,

As guilliman climbed up the hill, the number of beasts decreased by alot. But of course what they couldn't make up in numbers they did so in strength.

The beast he had killed just a minute ago was clearly a grand high-lord. High-lords from what he had learned were extremely rare and couldn't be found so easily.

But ever since entering this fog, he hadn't killed anything of a lesser code. But didn't that mean there was something rarer than a high-lord somewhere here controlling them?

What even was above high-lord? He clearly didn't know.

"That's it, I can see the gate" bloodied and battered guillimans eyes shone with a determined glow.

The end of the fog, it was right ahead. Just over that thick cloud of fog

A minute later,

Guilliman emerged from the fog and took in a large breath of air. He was finally here.

"Ohhh it's almost morning" guilliman looked over the horizon with a smile on his face. They had been fight for the whole night and he didn't even realise. Quite strange.

Although he felt that way, he also felt relieved. This siege had truly been a harrowing one.

Unfortunately, it wasn't over yet as in the corner of his eye guilliman noticed a strange scene at the gate.

There was a giant suit of amour, at least five times the size of bartold swing an ax in an aggressive way.

It didn't look like a monster, it's body rhythm and structure was that of a human through and through.

However, it wasn't a human either, instead it looked more like an empty shell of amour. But ho could this be? Could an empty shell of amour move and attack like that? With such intention?

'It's not the strangest thing I've seen in this place'

Guilliaman couldn't lie, he had seen alot of strange things in this place, from mind controlling trees, to a sentient fog and now this….yeah this place was certainly strange.

"Hmm, Vincent" panning his head to the emptiness the armoured shell was striking at guilliman licked his lips.

He could see him clearly, it was Vincent. That fucker had found his way here during the fight just like them..

Plus he had gotten here faster….in as much as he didn't like him. He had to admit, the kid was talented.

"Let's leave him and his new friend to have fun. We have bigger fish to fry" guilliman smirked as he walked to stone wall. It wasn't that tall, more like a curb side railing, so he was able to easily jump over it and when he did.

[Ding!!

After two hundred years, human slayers have finally step foot in ravenskeep.

Congratulations challengers and welcome to raven's keep.

Removing first level restrictions….

Sentience restored!! ]

All of a sudden, all the fog beasts previously engaged in battle with human slayers disengaged and rushed towards the waning moon beasts around and started ripping them to shreds with a new found strength leaving everyone stunned and surprised.

"Did you hear that notification?"

"Yeah, someone already made it up there!!"

"Hail sire logan!!"

"Hail sire Carlson!!"

"Hail sire Nagran!!"
