Chapter 23 - 23 22 Hu Haohao Makes Trouble
Chapter 23: Chapter 22: Hu Haohao Makes Trouble Chapter 23: Chapter 22: Hu Haohao Makes Trouble Zeze, upon seeing his own hair, finally realized what had happened and opened his mouth to wail loudly.
His first reflex was to seek out his grandmother for backup. Remembering that only his mom was here, without his grandmother, he cried even harder.
The sound was deafening. It was so loud that even the audience in front of their screens felt agitated, let alone those who were present. Mianmian, who was particularly affected, covered her little ears, furrowed her brow, and leaned closer to Zeze, “You’re really loud, you know. If you keep this up, I’m going to give it back to you.”
This was actually something her dad had taught her – to fight tooth for tooth, eye for eye. The little demons on the mountain weren’t all as friendly as Bai Bai; some mischievous ones liked to bully. Using this method, Mianmian became the boss of the little demons.
Now faced with a mischievous little boy, Mianmian was ready to carry this principle through to the end.
Seeing no reaction from Zeze, who was still crying, she stood on her tiptoes, moved closer to Zeze’s ear, and let out a super loud “Ah!”
Startled by the loud noise in his ear, Zeze was stunned, stopped crying, and stared at Mianmian blankly.
When Zeze stopped, Mianmian stopped too.
Seeing Mianmian stop, Zeze sniffled and started to cry again.
Mianmian continued to yell loudly.
After repeating this several times, Zeze completely ceased crying and gasped in disbelief, “You, you, how can you do that?”
Mianmian lifted her little chin and placed her hands on her hips, “If you can do it to me, I can do it to you. If you bother me, I’ll bother you back.”
After saying this, Mianmian suddenly remembered there were many other people around, as well as her little cousin who was working.
She looked around at everyone and said apologetically, “Sorry, Mianmian forgot you all were here, sorry for disturbing you, did I? I’m really sorry.”
Bowing her head politely and endearingly, she looked ready to accept any punishment, a stark contrast to her confrontational attitude moments earlier with Zeze.
“No problem at all,” Liu Hui was the first to speak, barely holding back her laughter, “You’re the Little Auntie, the elder, you were just disciplining the younger one, we don’t mind at all. Right, Youyou?”
Youyou nodded obediently, with a hint of envy in her eyes as she watched the two children.
Her voice was always too soft; her kindergarten teachers would always encourage her to speak louder. But here, she met two kids whose voices could be so loud.
And Mianmian, she truly was magical!
Gu Youyou thought, touching the little butterfly on her head, which was still nicely in place.
Qin Tao, seeing Liu Hui smoothing things over, and known in the Entertainment Circle for his gentle demeanor, also joined in, “Yeah, yeah, Mianmian, you were a bit loud, but Zeze stopped crying, it worked, well done.”
Upon hearing his good friend praise his little aunt, Su Chenfei was as pleased as could be, flashing a toothy grin.
At this moment, Mianmian was eyeing Director Hu at the front, with a cautious expression that made him smile involuntarily, “Little Auntie, no worries, you didn’t disrupt our work; our job is to capture all kinds of expressions from you kids.”
Only then did Mianmian relax. She patted her little chest and let out a long sigh of relief.
Then she turned to Zeze and smiled, “If you want to see the butterfly, just tell me, and I will show it to you.”
Zeze was still contemplating Mianmian’s words about treating others how they treated her. After considering what she said, he replied, “I don’t really like butterflies.”
He glanced at Mianmian’s fair cheeks, paused for a moment, huffed, and ran over to Xu Weiwei. He burrowed into Xu Weiwei’s embrace without saying a word.
Xu Weiwei was stunned, completely unprepared for her son to seek her out for comfort. It took her a moment before she tenderly touched her son’s head, looking at his messed-up hair and sighed.
The conflict between the two children was thus inexplicably resolved, and the adults went back to their own places.
Just then, the final group of ordinary guests got on the car.
They were a father and son duo, both with cold expressions. Their skin was equally fair, and they shared a pair of narrow, attractive Danfeng eyes with double eyelids, their resemblance was so striking it was instantly clear they were blood-related.
Not only that, but they were also dressed exactly the same, both in black hoodie outfits.
The older one introduced himself to the guests, “Chu Qi.”
Just two simple words, without any extra chatter.
The younger one followed suit, “Chu Ye.”
He, too, didn’t say anything more.
When the father and son introduced themselves, they had already scanned the people in the room and then found seats in the last row to sit down.
Director Hu was all smiles, “Our ordinary guests have arrived, so we can set off now. Let’s switch seats, please. It’s two people per seat, only one adult can accompany one child.”
Gu Youyou, upon hearing the need to switch seats, clung to Mianmian’s hand, her eyes brimming with reluctance.
She wanted to sit with Mianmian, she liked Mianmian.
“Can we still sit together, please?”
Mianmian shook her head and whispered softly into Gu Youyou’s ear, “There were three seats on the plane earlier, so we two could add an adult, but not now. It’s okay, we can be together again after getting off the car, okay?”
Gu Youyou, though unhappy, nodded her head after Mianmian explained so clearly.
Seeing how well-behaved Gu Youyou was, Mianmian planted a kiss on her face with a “mwah,” “You’re such a good girl; we’ll play together again after we get off the car~”
Su Chenfei, who had been waiting to switch seats, saw Mianmian kiss Gu Youyou and was eaten up with jealousy.
His little auntie had never kissed him!
After Gu Youyou left her seat, Su Chenfei couldn’t wait to lean in, “Little auntie, your grandson wants a kiss too.”
Mianmian was going to refuse, but thinking that her seventh grandchild would cry, she obediently kissed him on the face.
Su Chenfei, taking advantage of the situation, shot a provocative look at the camera.
[What’s this big grandson doing? Is he taunting us because we didn’t get a kiss from little auntie?]
[I’m so annoyed, I want to be kissed by Mianmian, too. She’s really so cute.]
[Yeah right, as if Su Chenfei likes Su Mianmian that much. By the way, what happened to her fortune teller persona? Hilarious, this morning’s event was obviously scripted.]
The live chat was abuzz with comments about Su Chenfei’s taunting; only the Su Family watching the live-stream knew that he was actually taunting them.
The brothers on the scene were grinding their teeth: next time on the variety show, they should go too!
The bus started, and the audience thought the stream might be turned off since it was already afternoon. But to their surprise, the live broadcast room had no new announcements and continued streaming.
Just as the viewers were wondering what was going on, the car stopped, and Director Hu said fiercely, “Get off quickly, we only rented the car up to this point.”
The audience’s interest was piqued, was Hu Haohao up to some mischief?
“The bus can’t go any further from here, so you’ll have to make your own way to the filming location,” Director Hu cheerfully explained. “Your luggage will be taken back for you; to make sure you have dinner and don’t end up sleeping on the streets, you’d better hurry.”
Towards the end, even Director Hu’s tone became playful.
The staff handed out maps to the guests, one for each person, and then joined Director Hu on a small rickshaw. The rest of the staff had already loaded the guests’ luggage onto it, and the rickshaw started up, puffing smoke as it disappeared.
The guests were at a loss.
When the bus couldn’t go any further, why couldn’t they take the rickshaw? Was Director Hu doing this on purpose? Was this even ethical?
What do you think?
