Chapter 166 Lucius's Bold Plan

Lucius began to tell them his plan. Ragnar and Savra listened closely and occasionally exchanged brief glances. By the time Lucius finished, both of them nodded, meaning that they understood it.

But still, Ragnar frowned. He was still processing one part of the plan. "So you're saying that two days from now, when we're supposed to fight the organization, only Liora and I will go."

Ragnar gestured to himself. "But I don't get it. Why don't I go alone? Or better yet, why do we need to go at all?"

Lucius smirked faintly. "I see. Maybe I explained it too quickly. Let me clarify."

He leaned forward and placed his hand on the table. "In two days, when the empire launches its attack on the organization, their leaders will be ready for anything. They'll expect it."

Ragnar raised his eyebrow. "Wait... you're saying they already know we're going to attack?" Explore hidden tales at My Virtual Library Empire@@novelbin@@

Lucius smirked. "Of course. Don't you know that Luna stole several key documents and materials from their hidden warehouse?"

Lucius leaned back and crossed his arms. "Their boss must have realized by now that someone infiltrated them. They may not know who exactly did it, but they'll be on high alert."

Ragnar nodded slowly. "Alright, fair point. If they're already expecting trouble, that explains why they'll be ready.

Ragnar gestured to himself again. "But why do we need to go at all? If they're likely to betray us afterward, why don't we just avoid the fight entirely?"

Lucius chuckled softly. "Because that's precisely why you need to go. You need to show your strength."

Lucius then explained it. "If you don't show up, they'll think you're afraid or worse, that you don't care about the deal. You have to make them think twice about crossing you."

Ragnar smirked as he liked the idea. "I see... so I'm there to send a message. Make them hesitate before pulling anything stupid."

Lucius leaned back again and smirked. "Exactly. You'll remind them why it's dangerous to mess with Volcaria."

Ragnar smirked more. But still, he had one more question. "Alright, I get that. But why bring Liora along? Why not just let me handle it alone?"

Lucius glanced briefly at Liora. "Because I want her to gain real battle experience. She's gotten strong too quickly."

Lucius then tapped his fingers on the table. "If she's going to handle herself in real combat, she needs to get used to fighting high-level opponents."

Ragnar glanced at Liora and smirked. "Makes sense. A controlled fight like this is a good place for her to test herself."

Lioa glanced at Ragnar. She didn't say anything, but they knew that she was ready for anything.

Savra tapped her fingers lightly on the table. "So, the plan is to have Ragnar and Liora lead the front while I... become a robber?"

Lucius smirked and leaned forward. "Don't be mad, Matriarch. It's an important job."

Savra sighed. "Yeah, I get it. Still, I never thought I'd be reduced to sneaking around like a thief."

She then crossed her arms. "But, still, I never think that the other Red Dragon material is in Kryndal's territory. I never think about that."

Lucius nodded. "Exactly. It's inconvenient, but it also means we're free to act however we want. The empire's too focused on the battle to pay attention to us."

Savra crossed her arms and smirked, thinking about it. "You're right. With everyone distracted, we can take advantage of the situation."

Lucius smirked and reached into his spatial ring. He put out a small artifact and handed it to Savra.

He gestured toward it and explained. "This is the tool they use to scan for Red Dragon materials. I managed to steal one from them. With this, you'll be able to find what we're looking for."

Savra took the artifact. She began to examine it closely before smirking back at Lucius. "I see. This will definitely do the job. But there's still one thing I don't get."

Lucius was surprised that he raised his eyebrow. "What's that?"

Savra gestured toward Luna. "Why do I need to bring Luna with me? This will be dangerous. She's not a tamer. If things go wrong, she'll be at risk."

Lucius leaned forward and smirked. "Because Luna is now a tamer. And trust me, you'll need her ability for what's coming."

Savra and Ragnar both stared at Lucius. They were shocked after hearing it. Ragnar gestured toward Luna. "What do you mean, she's a tamer? How's that possible?"

Lucius shrugged casually. "Just like I said, she is a tamer. I don't know how it happened. One day, she suddenly gained the ability to tame beasts. Even I didn't fully understand it."

Savra rubbed her temple briefly. She was trying to process what she had just heard. "I see... If it's you, it must be something unusual you did or something you stumbled upon."

She waved a hand dismissively. "Let's ignore the details for now. Whether it's strange or not, it's already done."

Lucius nodded. "Fair enough. But believe me, Matriarch. You'll want her with you. Her abilities will come in handy."

Savra gave Luna another long look and finally nodded. "Alright. If she's a tamer now, she can come. Just make sure she's ready."

Luna, who had remained silent until now, stepped forward. "I'm ready. You don't have to worry about me."

Ragnar glanced between Lucius and Luna. He was skeptical but decided not to press further. "Fine. If you say she's useful, we'll see when the time comes."

Lucius smirked once more. "You'll see soon enough. Just trust me on this."

Savra glanced back at Lucius. "But still, Lucius, are you really sure about this final plan? Are we really going to go through with it?"

Lucius nodded without hesitation. "Of course, Matriarch. But remember, it's a contingency plan. We'll only execute it if they're stupid enough to try what we think they will."

Ragnar let out a loud laugh and crossed his arms over his broad chest. "Exactly! If they're foolish enough to pull something after the battle, we'll do it. Until then, it's just a backup plan."

Savra sighed, rubbing her temple briefly before nodding. "Fine. I'll go along with it for now. Let's focus on preparing for what's ahead. Two days isn't much time."

Lucius smirked and turned to Luna and Liora. "Alright then. We've got work to do."

Savra gestured toward Ragnar. "Make sure everything's ready on your end. I don't want any surprises."

Ragnar grinned. "Don't worry. My end's covered."

With the plan agreed upon, they all nodded, understanding what needed to be done.

Without further delay, they turned and headed out of the room, each of them readying themselves for what would come two days later.
