Chapter 178 The Crushing Weight of Genius
Tarron smirked and growled. "Let me show you the power of an elder of the Red Dragon Order."
He raised his massive right arm and slammed it into the ground, cracking it to spew streams of lava in Liora's direction.
The lava surged toward Liora, but Liora didn't flinch. Instead, she raised her right claw and channeled her Silver Flame energy.
She concentrated all of it into her palm, forming a sphere of intense and pulsating energy.
She then rushed forward without a second thought. The lava reached and covered her body, but to everyone's shock, it didn't even burn her.
The lava slid off her skin like water and Liora seemed to know it as she just rushed forward.
Tarron was surprised as he staggered back. "What the hell? How can it be...?"
Liora smirked as she closed the distance between them. She also picked up the lava as it was water. "Your lava isn't hot enough. It is just water to me."
Tarron was surprised, but soon it turned to anger. He flexed his molten arms as he prepared to strike again. "You arrogant brat!"
But Liora didn't give him the chance to retaliate. She crouched slightly and launched herself forward. "Now it's my turn."
Drawing back her palm, she used the concentrated sphere for the strike. "Silver Flame Burst!"
Her palm connected with Tarron's chest. The concentrated energy exploded on contact.
A silver flame immediately engulfed Tarron, sent a shockwave through the battlefield and cracked the ground beneath them.
Tarron let out a roar as the force of the explosion sent him hurtling backward. His massive frame crashed into the cavern wall.
Anselm was shocked when he saw that. He looked over the residue of Liora's explosive attack. "What... the hell? How is she this strong?"
Beside him, Feron clenched his fiery claws as he was trying to process what he was seeing. "We've been struggling to hold Tarron back, but she's handling him like it's nothing."
Anselm didn't respond immediately. His gaze remained fixed on Liora, who stood confidently on the battlefield.
The one they had been figthing, a foe who had tested even their combined strength, was now crumpled against the cavern wall.
Anselm shook his head. "This doesn't make any sense. Even for someone from Ragnar's camp, this level of power... it's not normal."
Feron glanced back toward Anselm and became serious. "If she's this strong now, what happens if she keeps growing?"
Anselm's wings flared slightly as he tightened his jaw. He was a bit uneasy about it. "That's a problem, isn't it?"
Meanwhile, Ragnar was also surprised as he leaned against the jagged rock wall. He tapped his sharp claws as he watched the scene below.
He was not smirking anymore, but instead, he was really surprised—a genuine surprise. "I knew she was strong, but not this strong. This is beyond what I can say as normal, even for her."
Ragnar let out a low chuckle as he shook his head. "Lucius, just what the hell have you done to her?"
He glanced at Liora again. "She's stronger than the generals of the Empire now. At this rate, she might just surpass us all."
The truth behind her strength was that her talent was not an ordinary one. Her talent was a Goddess-level talent.
What most tamers didn't know was the difference in the way stats were inherited during fusion.
For those with King-level talent that was considered rare and only owned by nobles, only inherited 80% of their beast's stats after fusing.
But for Goddess-level talent, like Liora's, the rules were entirely different. She didn't inherit 100% of her beast's stats, as one might assume.
Instead, the percentage skyrocketed to a staggering 500%. This meant that every stat from her beast was magnified exponentially.
Most 6-Star tamers' beasts were usually maxed out with B-Tier stats or rarely achieved A-Tier stats in one or two stats.
But Leon, Liora's beast, wasn't ordinary. His stats, on the other hand, were all A-Tier stats.
Liora's advantage didn't stop there. She was also a former beastman, giving her a natural control over fusion states that no human tamer could match.
It was no wonder that Tarron, despite being an elder of the Red Dragon Order and a peak 6-Star Tamer, found himself completely outmatched.
While both of their beasts were technically 6-Star, the gap between them was too wide. Liora wasn't just a step above him. She was leagues beyond.
Feron still locked his gaze onto Liora. He turned slightly toward Anselm. "What do we do now? She's young, but she's already stronger than both of us."
Feron also reminded him about a possible event. "If we leave her unchecked, she'll surpass us completely and soon."
Anselm didn't respond immediately. He already knew what Feron meant. "I don't know. It's... too much. For her to already be this strong. It should be a good thing for the empire."
Feron let out a low growl. "Don't forget who she is, Anselm. She's Volcaria. And the Volcaria family hasn't exactly been on good terms with the Empire."@@novelbin@@
Anselm tightened his jaw. "You're right. The Volcaria family's strength has always been a thorn in our side."
Anselm scanned around. "Fortunately, they only have two 7-Star tamers in their family and one of them is here." Find your next read on My Virtual Library Empire
Feron nodded. "That's exactly why we can't let her grow unchecked. If Liora continues at this pace, she could become the third 7-Star. She alone will be enough to tip the scales."
Anselm shifted his gaze back to Liora. "Drastic measures... we can't afford to let her live if she's going to become a threat to the Empire."
Feron tilted his head slightly. "You're suggesting we take her out now?"
Anselm nodded slowly without any hesitation. "We eliminate her here and now. It's the only way to prevent further trouble."
Feron smirked faintly. "For once, I agree with you. But if we're going to do this, we'll need to wait for the right moment. Tarron's still in play, and I doubt Ragnar will stay out of it for long."
Anselm's smirk mirrored Feron's as he glanced at him. "Then we let Tarron do as much damage as he can. Once Liora's weakened, we strike."
Feron nodded as he prepared for what was to come. "A genius like her might be rare, but even the strongest can fall when caught off guard."
The two tamers shared a silent understanding. While the others saw Liora's power as a marvel, to Anselm and Feron, it was a threat that had to be extinguished before it could grow any further.
What do you think?
