Billionaire's Contracted & Unloved Wife

Chapter 224 224

Viktor walked into his house to find Moon standing beside the door as if she was planning to leave.

"Going somewhere?" Viktor asked, locking the door.

Moon wasn't expecting Viktor to return so quickly. He had gone to drop Candy at school, and she believed he'd go somewhere else from there; why would he come home to stay with her?

That's why she planned to go out and get a job, a job that would let her work for short hours and return before Viktor brought back Candy from school.

"You're back early..." Moon cleared her throat, looking away as she slowly stepped back from the door.

Viktor frowned, "I asked where you were going, Moon?" He repeated, taking slow strides toward her.

"Me? I wasn't going anywhere, I just wanted to step out for a walk, nothing else," She stood in the middle of the living room, close to the sofa.

"Then you should have waited for me unless you're so irresponsible that you were really planning to run away from child care," Viktor stood in front of her, regarding her with obvious dislike.

Moon sighed, "No, Viktor, you misunderstood. I know my past isn't very fluffy, but right now, I'd like people to believe that I'm changed... I'd like you to believe that I'm changed, especially when it comes to our child, Candy; I'm not abandoning her; I've promised to be here for her, and I'm keeping to my words," She explained.

Viktor scoffed, "I know, Moon, I know you're trying to be convincing, but can you blame me for thinking the worst about you?" He questioned.

Moon stared at Viktor silently. She didn't know how to reply, and she didn't want to reply; Viktor was right; he couldn't be blamed for not believing her.

She decided to leave, go in her room, and wait till Candy was brought back from school before she came out to cook for her.

"Where are you going?" Viktor caught her arm when she was about to walk past him, bringing her back to stand in front of him.

"Let me be, Viktor; I just want to go back to my room since I don't have the freedom to walk freely anymore," Moon frowned.

Viktor's face turned angry, "This is my problem with you, Moon," He stepped closer and held her shoulders, looking into her eyes, "You lie... a lot. For the last time, I'll ask, what were you going out to do?" His face leaned in, staring right into her soul as he waited for her answer.

Moon gulped, seeing the fire in Viktor's eyes, he could still tell us she was lying, "Fine, I was leaving, alright? I was leaving to find a job; I want to be independent, Viktor, not leave under someone's roof for free," She confessed.

Viktor scoffed, his hand going around her neck to hold the back of her head, "I pay you, Moon, I pay you to take care of our daughter for crying out loud!" His voice was slightly higher than usual.

Moon pushed him away from her, "You don't get it! I want my freedom, Viktor! I want to make my own money!" She shouted.

"I see," Viktor chuckled, walking back to her, "You want to go back to where men would assault you, right? You like the attention you get from them -"

"Viktor-"

"I'm trying to protect you, Moon! Don't you see that?" Viktor sighed, frustrated.

"I don't need your protection!" Moon burst out, tears falling from her eyes.

Viktor covered the distance between them and drew her into his arms, "Why are you crying?" His hand wiped off the tears from her cheek, his face worried as he stared down at her.

Moon shook her head, "Let me go, Viktor, stop trying to be nice to me; I don't serve it; I need to face my harsh reality; I've done unspeakable things, you know this; stop thinking you can heal me, you can't," She sobbed.

"I'm not trying to heal you, Moon. I'm trying to make you understand that you're not alone. I might not lobe you anymore, but -"

"You don't love me anymore?" Moon didn't know why she asked that, but she did, and she needed him to answer her question.

Viktor paused, he wasn't expecting their conversation to take a different direction, "That's what I said," Viktor replied.

Moon slowly nodded; she didn't know why a silly part of her was really hoping that Viktor would still have feelings for her; she didn't deserve his feelings, but she guessed it was that selfish part of being a human that was wishing for something absurd.

"Then, you must have dated someone all those time apart right?" Moon placed his hand on Viktor's chest, looking into his eyes.

Viktor frowned, this was the first time he actually thought back to his life in Maimi and he realized that he never searched for another relationship; however he was convinced that it wasn't because he still had feelings for Moon, but, right then as he stared at her eyes, he wasn't so sure, "No, I didn't," He replied.

Moon bit her lips, "Then you still love me, Viktor... why do you still love me? You shouldn't love me, I'll hurt you again," She raised her hand to his cheek, caressing it.

Viktor scoffed, "You're delusional; I don't love you anymore, Moon; this is just pity, not love," he stated.

"Okay..." Moon's voice turned soft.

Viktor was aware that Moon's face was getting closer, but he didn't move away; he couldn't, "What are you doing?" He whispered.

"Just confirming something," Moon whispered against his lips, "You're not moving away, Viktor, you still have feelings for me," She stared at his inviting lips.

"You're talking non -" He was shut up by Moon's lips pressing against his.

He froze for a second before he found himself kissing her back, his hand drew her plush against his body, tightening around her as he deepened the kiss.

Moon was just trying to kiss him shortly to prove to him that he still had feelings for her but she found herself riding with the dangerous waves.

In the next second, she found herself on the sofa, her legs beside Viktor and her arms wrapped around his neck.

Their lips battled with each other, tongues smoothly sliding against the other, and their hot breaths escaping their nostrils and mixing together.

The moment Viktor's hand wanted to slide between Moon's legs a loud knock was heard on the door, snapping them out of their heady and heated moment.

"T-the door..." Moon gasped softly and immediately climbed out of Viktor's lap.

Viktor stood from the sofa, not saying anything to Moon, he raked his fingers through his hair before walking away to open the door.

He reached the door and paused, glancing back at Moon to check if she had put herself together, but he was surprised to find that she was no longer in the living room; she had probably disappeared into her room.

He sighed quietly before pulling his door open.

"Viktor, you don't answer calls anymore, what's wrong? Got a secret woman keeping you busy?" Ken strode into his house like he owned the place.

Viktor frowned, "I never said you could come in," he shut his door and followed Ken to the living room.

He felt so stable when he saw Ken lower himself on the sofa where he and Moon had almost done the did. He knew that Moon ran into her room because he didn't want to meet with Ken, so he would respect her decision and not mention her to Ken; that was why he said nothing when Ken asked if he had a secret woman keeping him busy.

"What are you doing here, Ken?" Viktor sat on the sofa beside Ken, his brows raised.

Ken smiled, "Nothing."

Viktor's face turned irritated, "Ken... please, just speak; I need to leave for something urgent; I've got some errand to run for Aiden," He replied.

Ken nodded, "Ah, me too, that's why I'm here," Ken smiled.

Viktor narrowed his eyes at Ken, "What's yours?" He asked.

"Dylan," Ken stated.

Viktor scoffed, "That's not my problem, Ken. I know that Dylan is coming from Maimi, but he's not my problem; I'm not the one who was assigned to go kick him up; my job is just to make sure that the products he was going to be working with are available in Aiden's company," He smirked.

Ken chuckled, "Already checked," He showed Viktor pictures of products he took in Aiden's company.

"So?" Viktor raised a curious brow.

"I helped you out, it's only natural you help me out. I'm not asking you to go pick him up all by yourself; I'm just making that you accompany me... you know I don't like the guy; it'll be a punishment to have him all to myself the whole forty-minute drive from the airport," Ken explained.

"What's in it for me?" Viktor turned smug.

Ken chuckled, "I'll keep him away from Moon, the last time he was here, he was hell-bent on making her his girlfriend unless you're really done with her," He informed.

Viktor's smug disappeared, "Moon?" His protective instincts were woken; he never knew Dylan made a move on Moon when he came for his first business trip with Aiden.

"Yeah, so, if you want my help, you'll help me, if not, she's gone," Ken pointed toward Moon's room.

Viktor was speechless, "He did you -"

"Aiden, of course. Let's go," Ken wore a triumphant smile as he walked toward the door; he knew he'd got Viktor right where he wanted him.
