"…So this is where Aria is," Leona murmured, her expression tinged with unease as she surveyed the surroundings. The explanation passed down from the Celestial and the Demon God hadn’t been particularly encouraging, and it seemed to weigh on her even more.

They had described this place as a gate formed from the last remnants of foreign matter that had clung to Aria during her suffering. In other words, the stronger the monsters appearing here, the greater the pain Aria had endured.

Before we even entered, Maker, who once served as a commander in the Demon King's army, suddenly sprang out and attacked us. It was enough to prove the point. Leona, still shaken, couldn't help but feel uneasy.

Though we easily dispatched Maker in a few seconds, as expected from a team composed of the Empire's strongest, it was an ominous sign. We decided to retrieve Aria as quickly as possible.

"Let's hurry. The best thing we can do is get her out of here as soon as possible."@@novelbin@@

"Yes. We must. We will," Leona replied, her face set in determination as she tightened her grip on Eternity. She hadn’t brought her holy sword or spear, wary of the possibility that the foreign matter suspended in time might cling to them.

While the Celestial had assured us it would be fine, the mere possibility posed a problem. I had declined, prepared for any contingency. Right now, the Celestial should be holding back the monsters attempting to escape outside.

"This is my story… I have to end it with my own hands. Yes, Leona. You can do this," she whispered, barely audible but enough for me to hear. She seemed to steel herself as we moved forward.

That was why only Leona and I had entered the gate. To let the main character finish this story with her own hands and for me to stand beside her, as the one who had taken Aria’s place.

Laura had refused, saying she wasn’t fit to end this world’s story.
