Broken Possessors of Infinite Regression Academy

Chapter 291

Aria looked utterly bewildered as she watched the Celestial and the Demon God squabble while nestled in my arms. I could understand her confusion; even if she could feel their divine energy, it must have been hard to reconcile that these were indeed the gods she had once slain. Now, not only had they changed their appearances, but they also engaged in a casual and very undivine conversation, all while comfortably leaning on me.

It probably seemed odd to her that they were so at ease being held by me—especially since they’d been the ones who came over and practically demanded to be hugged. At first, I had only indulged the Celestial, who, despite her lack of boundaries, was easygoing and childlike. But after a while, even the Demon God stopped resisting and started hinting that she wanted the same treatment, grumbling if I pretended not to notice.

Leona and Latina often said they felt like they were half-raising daughters. If these two goddesses were indeed daughters, then I wondered where my DNA had gone, as neither of them seemed to take after me in any way.

"Anyway, your fate was already decided while you were asleep. We came to an agreement."

At my words, Leona took a step back, and Aria offered a weary smile.

"Yes. I expected as much. What is it?"

"You won’t be able to exist as Aria anymore. You’re essentially a ghost in this world, someone who’s already disappeared. It’s more accurate to say that your existence has been erased."

Her blue eyes, which had been calmly observing me, closed as she listened. Though she said she was prepared, it seemed like she was bracing herself to accept my words.

Just before the world collapsed, Aria had sacrificed herself to stabilize time, erasing her own existence in the process. All the moments she spent with us, the past she shared as the hero’s childhood friend—everything that happened afterward—were gone.

Leona, it seemed, had grown up alone in the village, and Aria’s parents had raised a girl of similar age in her place. No one remembered Aria in the village or at the academy, where even her place as second-in-command had been filled by someone else. Aria, once existing, was now no more.@@novelbin@@

"I thought as much. Disappearing into time would have torn away my past as well. I had anticipated this outcome."

"You’re no longer April. Nor are you Aria. You have no name, no place to go, and nowhere you belong. You’re now entirely detached from this world."
