Sophia's fists surged forward, aiming straight for Nyx's face with determination etched across her features. The tension in the air was palpable as the two opponents faced off. Sophia's moves were swift, a testament to her training and fierce resolve.
However, Nyx was no novice either. With an almost casual grace, she leaned backward, her body bending like a reed in the wind. Sophia's fists whooshed past, grazing the air where Nyx's head had been mere moments ago. It was as if Nyx was dancing, her movements fluid and precise.
Dodging once was impressive, but Nyx continued her dance of evasion. She sidestepped Sophia's attacks effortlessly, a wisp of a smile playing at the corner of her lips. She ducked, weaved, and spun, avoiding Sophia's fists with a serene confidence that was both infuriating and mesmerising.@@novelbin@@
The rhythm of their battle intensified as Sophia's frustration grew. She had expected her strikes to find their mark, to land a solid hit on her adversary, but Nyx remained just out of reach. Sophia's breath quickened, and her muscles burned with the effort of her relentless assault.
The fifth attack came, faster and fiercer than the ones before it. Sophia's fist sliced through the air, aiming for Nyx's chest. But Nyx's response was different this time. With a sudden, almost delicate movement, she extended a finger and pressed it against a specific bone in Sophia's fist. Pain erupted like fire, radiating from that single point of contact.
Sophia's fist trembled, her fingers loosening involuntarily. The agony was sharp and unexpected, causing her to falter. In that agonising moment, her concentration shattered, and her stance wavered. The ground rushed up to meet her as her legs gave out, and she crashed onto the floor.
As Sophia lay there, pain coursing through her hand and her pride wounded, she glanced at Nyx. The enigmatic fighter stood above her, her expression a mixture of amusement and something deeper, something unreadable.
"Hey, could you guys please calm down?" Young Master Luis of the Aries family interjected, his tone attempting to bring a semblance of peace to the escalating situation. He leaned back casually, a glint of amusement dancing in his eyes as he observed the tension between the two women. "Nyx, she's my sister. You shouldn't act like this."
Nyx's lips curved into a sardonic smile, her gaze shifting from Sophia to Luis. "I'm not the one who started it. She should blame her own incapability."
"Bitch, you're the one who called me stupid first," Sophia retorted, her voice laced with a mix of frustration and anger. She crossed her arms, her posture defiant as she confronted Nyx. "On one hand, I helped my brother by subduing that Das. But here you are, blaming me with all your lies."
Nyx's fingers tightened around the stem of her wine glass, her grip almost imperceptibly strained. She took a slow sip, masking her reaction behind a facade of indifference. "I call it as I see it," she responded coolly, her eyes never leaving Sophia's face.
Luis chuckled softly, attempting to defuse the situation with a hint of levity. "Come on, you two. We're all on the same side here. There's no need for this."
Sophia's gaze flickered between Nyx and Luis, her anger battling with a desire to keep the peace. "Fine," she grumbled, her resolve softening as she uncrossed her arms. "But you should trust me as I'm also a family member and helped you many time with my intelligence and strategies."
Nyx's smile remained enigmatic, her eyes glinting with a mixture of challenge and something deeper. "If you say so. After seeing that video, one thing is sure. That fellow named Das, stripped you of your money and played you like a circus monkey." Nyx said with a playful gleam.

Luis' reaction was swift, his features changing with a mix of surprise and concern upon hearing Nyx's biting remarks. His eyes darted between Nyx and Sophia, a sudden tension seizing the room. "What do you mean?" he interjected, his voice tinged with urgency.
Nyx's smile remained, a touch of smugness now colouring her expression. "Oh, proud Luis, you really need to hear this," she purred, her words dripping with a hint of mockery. She took another sip of her wine, her gaze fixed on him.
Sophia's knuckles whitened as her fingers curled into fists at her sides. Her jaw clenched, her anger palpable as Nyx's words cut through the air like a sharp blade. "What I mean is," Nyx continued, her tone almost casual, "your sister played right into Das' hands."
Luis' complexion shifted, a wash of emotions sweeping across his face. Denial, disbelief, and eventually a dawning realisation flickered through his eyes. He opened his mouth, as if to protest, but Nyx's words were like a cascade, unstoppable.
"When Das came for the kidnapped guy," she said, her voice carrying the weight of revelation, "your sister boasted about herself, offering her body and a life of luxury."
Sophia's cheeks flushed with a mix of shame and indignation. Her lips parted, as if to respond, but Nyx's words cut her off. "Das saw an opportunity," Nyx continued, her voice a cold analysis. "He played the part of a willing pawn, agreeing to your sister's conditions temporarily."
The room seemed to close in around them, the tension reaching a crescendo. Sophia's fists trembled at her sides, her chest rising and falling rapidly as her anger boiled over. She took a step forward, her voice sharp as a blade. "You bitch," she seethed, "how dare you say such things?"
Nyx leaned back in her chair, her eyes glittering with a satisfaction that danced on the edge of cruelty. "Truth stings, doesn't it?" she replied, her words a calculated taunt.
As the volley of words echoed around the room, Luis' thoughts crystallised. The uncertainty gnawed at him, demanding clarity in the midst of a stormy dispute.
"Sister, is what she's saying true?" Luis finally interjected, his voice even, his gaze unflinching as he shifted his attention to Sophia. There was an intensity in his tone that bespoke a quest for honesty. "Did you really offer him your husband position?"
Sophia's anger, once a raging fire, seemed to flicker in the face of her brother's piercing inquiry. The room quieted, all eyes now on her, awaiting her response. Her gaze met Luis', and for a fleeting moment, a storm of emotions wrestled beneath the surface.
Sophia's eyes darted between her brother and Nyx, her features a battlefield of conflicting emotions. Her lips parted, but the words were slow to form, caught in the grip of a decision that held grave consequences.
