"Yes, I did it," Sophia chimed, her voice unwavering. "But not out of stupidity. It was a calculated tactic, a move to seize control of the city in one stroke."

Luis listened intently, torn between the weight of his sister's assertion and Nyx's incisive analysis. He felt the tension between loyalty and doubt coil within him.

"Sister, I do understand your strategic brilliance. But Nyx's point is valid too. You've always been resourceful, but sometimes even the cleverest plans can backfire."

"Brother, you also know that Das is the current leader of this city and we don't have any alternative opponents to place against him for now," Sophia's voice wavered with a mix of frustration and desperation.

"That's why I offered him a concession and lured him to our side. Why won't you trust me? I'm the one who managed to capture and control four major cities in China. Not her." Sophia's tone had an undertone of accusation, and her eyes glistened with false tears, her act meant to stir emotions.

Luis, caught between his sister's impassioned defence and the lingering doubts Nyx's words had sown, felt the weight of his decision press upon him.

Nyx's expression remained stoic, her unwavering gaze fixed on Sophia. She had witnessed enough in their line of work to know that emotion often clouded judgment. Her instincts and analytical mind leaned toward own assessment, but she understood the complexity of familial dynamics.

Sophia's grip tightened on the edge of the table, her gaze pleading with Luis. "Please, brother, you know me better than anyone else. I've always acted with our family's interests at heart. Don't let doubts undermine our bond."

Luis fell in dilemma as he didn't understand whether to trust Sophia's claims or Nyx's assessment.

"Brother, if you don't trust me, there is no use of my presence here," Sophia's voice trembled with a blend of hurt and resignation. Her gaze dropped, a curtain of sadness shadowing her eyes. She turned slowly, as if to walk away from the confrontation that had strained their bond.

Luis felt a pang of conflict within him as he watched Sophia begin to leave. He didn't want to push her away as she is expert and helped him several times.

"Wait... Wait..." he called out, his voice laced with a mix of urgency and uncertainty. Sophia paused, her back still turned to him, the tension in the room palpable.

Luis took a deep breath, his shoulders slumping in a mix of relief and resolve. "I trust you, okay, I'll personally go to Das's place. I'll verify whether what you're saying is true or false."

Sophia's eyes brightened with a glimmer of hope, her tense posture relaxing ever so slightly. Her lips curved into a small, grateful smile. "Thank you, brother. You won't regret this."

As the tension in the room began to ease, Nyx's voice cut through the moment, laced with genuine concern. "Are you stupid?" she exclaimed, her eyes wide and serious. "You might be walking into a trap. You could lose your life."

Hey stupid lady, my brother is the young master of Aries family. Do you think anyone would lay finger on him. Stop acting like wise bird and show your value to us. Sophia said sarcastically.

Nyx's lips tightened, but she refrained from responding, her gaze fixed on the interplay between the siblings.

"Brother, when are you going to Das's place?" Sophia asked, her tone more earnest now. "My only request is that you don't alert the Farus family. We can't afford unnecessary complications."

Luis nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. "I'll be cautious," he assured her. "Tomorrow, my father is sending a personal bodyguard to accompany me. The next day, I'll visit this fellow named Das."

Nyx's gaze remained focused on the unfolding conversation, her mind processing the intricacies of their plan. She couldn't shake the sense of unease that lingered, a nagging feeling that danger might be lurking beneath the surface.

Sophia's concern deepened, her voice laced with a note of urgency. "And Farus Family? What if they decide to strike? We haven't initiated any attacks yet."

Luis met his sister's gaze, his expression determined. "For now, Farus Family won't dare to attack us as long as we refrain from provoking them."

Nyx's voice, though quieter, cut through the lingering tension. "Keep in mind that the calm before the storm is often the most treacherous." Nyx left the tent after saying her point. She did not like the idea of Luis visiting Das placed based on Sophia's claims.

At night eight o'clock, Das stood within the confines of the palace treasury. He had arrived earlier than usual, his training session cut short by a singular purpose. Clutched in his hand was a delicate vial, its contents precious and coveted. Read new chapters at My Virtual Library Empire

The vial contained a crimson-hued liquid, a blood serum infused with an otherworldly emerald green tint. The only veil containing the blood serum of Silvester family which is still unknown and mysterious to many powerful people in this world.

Without hesitation, Das uncorked the vial and raised it to his lips. The liquid glowed like a rare gem, its luminescence dancing against the dim lighting of the treasury. The serum carried an air of mystery and potential, its effects are unknown to him.

In solitude, Das consumed the serum, his actions deliberate and confident. The taste was peculiar, a mix of bitterness and something ethereal, as if the liquid held the essence of a realm beyond. He closed his eyes for a brief moment, allowing the serum's energy to suffuse through his veins, to mingle with his very essence.

Without awaiting the full effects of the serum, he reached for a weighty black wooden box that he had acquired through an auction in Delhi. The box held an aura of mystery, and Das's anticipation grew as he unlatched its lid.

Inside lay a regal sabre, resplendent in its sheath. The black stone blade gleamed like dark moonlight shadow, while a vibrant array of diamonds adorned the hilt, casting multi-coloured sparks when caught in the light. The craftsmanship was exquisite, a testament to the legacy of mastery and artistry.
