Chapter 30: Not in the Same Class
Chapter 30: Chapter 30: Not in the Same Class
Mengmeng wasn’t the only one scratching her head. Apart from Gu Zhihan, who was frantically writing, most of the kids, like Mengmeng, stared blankly at the white exam paper in front of them, unable to understand or write anything.
At that time, they didn’t know that the results of this entrance test would determine their class placement afterward.
Therefore, Mengmeng, who handed in a blank paper, naturally didn’t end up in the same class as Gu Zhihan, who had answered all the questions correctly.
On the first day of school, upon seeing the class assignment list, Mengmeng was utterly baffled. “Why wasn’t I placed in the same class as my husband?”
She was assigned to Class 1-5, while Gu Zhihan was in Class 1-1.
“Could it be a printing error?”
Suddenly, Mengmeng’s imagination ran wild, and she stared at the class assignment list fiercely, as if she wanted to burn holes through it.
“How is that possible!” Gu Zhihan was shocked by her remark, but seeing her about to cry, he felt a strange feeling welling up inside him and gently consoled her. “So, we’re not in the same class, what’s there to be sad about?”
They were still in the same school, and he could still wait for her to walk together after school.
“I’m not sad!” Mengmeng denied his statement.
“Then what is it?”
Mengmeng shouted. “I’m worried that some other little temptress will whisk you away!!!”
“…”
Gu Zhihan couldn’t help but twitch his lips and darkened his face before turning to walk into the classroom.
“Wuwu, husband, you are not allowed to leave!” Seeing him leaving, Mengmeng hastily latched her little hands and feet onto him, her tears streaming down. “I want to be in the same class as you; I don’t want to be apart from you, wuwu!”
The reason she came to school was to keep an eye on him; how could she keep watch if they weren’t in the same class!
“The classes are already assigned. How could you possibly be in the same class as me now?” Gu Zhihan sighed helplessly as he looked down at the little girl hugging his leg tightly and touched her tear-streaked little face. “Stop crying.”
The class division was personally arranged by the school leaders; it wasn’t like kindergarten, where a simple greeting to the teachers would allow you to switch classes at will.
Wait a second…
If it was arranged by the school, then couldn’t the school just make a change?
Gu Zhihan thought of something, his eyes suddenly narrowed, and then he looked up at his mother standing beside him. “Mom, I remember you said the principal of this elementary school is your friend…”
Before he could finish, Mengmeng’s mother-in-law, who had been worried about how to get her son and daughter-in-law into the same class, immediately slapped her forehead, saying, “Right! The principal is an old friend of your father and me. How could I have forgotten about this!”
With this connection, what’s a class assignment!?
“Why are you talking about that?” Mengmeng, still sniffling, looked puzzledly at them, clearly not understanding the implication of their words.
“Of course, we’re talking about pulling some strings!” Mengmeng’s mother-in-law smiled and took her hand, ready to lead her to the principal’s office, “Mengmeng, let’s take a little trip with godmother; I guarantee you and Gu Zhihan will end up in the same class!”
“Really?” The surprise came so suddenly that Mengmeng was almost ecstatically happy. She quickly let go of Gu Zhihan, waved at him, and then hurried along with her mother-in-law. “Husband, you go into the classroom and save us seats; godmother and I will be back soon!”
“Mm…”
Gu Zhihan stood in the hallway outside the classroom, watching the two females leave until they were out of sight. Only then did he turn and walk into the classroom to save seats.@@novelbin@@
