CS: I’m Only 16, and You Want Me to Stage an Old Veteran Comeback?

Chapter 11: Are you really a newbie in live streaming?

Comeback Points: 369.

It wasn’t a great number, as Jiang Yang worried that he might sprint through the task and leave him in the dust.

Although it wasn’t much, these daily tasks could accumulate over time.

He couldn’t help but glance at the panting Ma Xixi beside him and teased, “Cousin, you’re really out of shape!”

Ma Xixi rolled his eyes, too exhausted to bother with Jiang Yang.

The system’s daily exercise tasks might have been torture for “30-year-old Jiang Yang,” who would probably be just as wiped out as Ma Xixi.

The 5-kilometer run had taken them almost an hour.

But for 16-year-old Jiang Yang, his physical fitness was frighteningly good!

Five kilometers was just routine exercise for him.

The system clearly hadn’t anticipated this. Jiang Yang’s premature arrival had made him a walking bug in completing these tasks—completely effortless!

Jiang Yang nearly put his hands on his hips, ready to gloat.

Including the 369 comeback points he just earned, his total now stood at 570.

He’d already bought everything he needed for today, but what if the shop refreshed with something good tomorrow?

And running five kilometers wasn’t hard for him anyway.

...

After a simple meal with his classmates, Jiang Yang and Ma Xixi headed home.

After a shower, Ma Xixi looked ready to pass out.

And with no major competitions on the horizon, he genuinely wanted to skip streaming.

“How about you stream tonight?” Ma Xixi said seriously. “I’m completely out of energy. If I sit in front of the computer, I probably won’t even manage to say a few words.”

He looked like a commentator during the final game of a late-night BO5 series—his focus was all but gone.

Jiang Yang understood. Ma Xixi’s schedule was terrible.

Because of his streaming work, he’d been staying up late for years to commentate on matches.

Plus, he hardly exercised, so his physical condition was awful.

This sudden burst of activity was bound to knock him out, and Jiang Yang could already predict how sore Ma Xixi’s legs would be tomorrow.

Starting to exercise again was always tough at first.

But over time, as his body adapted, it would get better.

“Can’t Captain MO step in?” Jiang Yang wasn’t keen on streaming. “I don’t think I’m cut out for solo streaming.”

The main issue was Ma Xixi’s large audience. Jiang Yang worried he’d mess things up for him.

“MO’s still on the train. He’s dealing with some family stuff,” Ma Xixi reassured him. “I’ll sit next to you. Give it a try. You’ve got talent for streaming.”

Unlike his robotic co-host MO, Jiang Yang had a natural gift for streaming.

Every time he appeared on a stream, he could nail the jokes, and even his unfiltered antics created unexpectedly good entertainment.

After Jiang Yang’s appearance earlier, the “Helmet Crew” in the livestream chat had been very receptive to him.

Ma Xixi thought this could be a chance for Jiang Yang to start a streaming career.

If he could gain some online recognition and make a living through streaming, he wouldn’t need to worry about finding a job after graduation.

Ma Xixi had always liked Jiang Yang and wanted to help him out wherever possible.

With his cousin’s insistence, Jiang Yang reluctantly agreed to try streaming.

After all, Ma Xixi’s current half-dead state was partly his fault.

When Ma Xixi opened the CSBOY streaming channel, he immediately explained to the viewers:

“I’m wiped out from today’s workout. I’ll be resting on the sidelines while my cousin streams in my place.”

He expected the chat to start complaining and had already prepared a response, but the comments were surprisingly unified:

[Yes! Dongdong’s up!]

[True “World’s Top Prince Snatcher.” Second day in and he’s already replacing the host.]

[No need for introductions; Cousin’s got this!]

[Finally, no more watching Ma Xixi’s “Down’s syndrome plays.” Happy days.]

[MO better run. CSBOY’s true prince has arrived!]

[Can Cousin turn on the camera?]

To be honest, the CSBOY stream was fun, but it could get repetitive when there weren’t any big matches.

Ma Xixi’s PL (Perfect World League) streams often featured clunky gameplay.

He frequently got tilted by familiar opponents, much to the audience’s amusement.

But too much of the same shtick got boring.

Jiang Yang, however, was still a fresh face.

His recent appearances had been full of memorable moments, and clips of his perfect C+ gameplay—played while Ma Xixi was indisposed—had gone viral on Bilibili.

Excited by the news that Jiang Yang would be streaming, the audience couldn’t wait.

“Turn on the camera? Sure.”

Jiang Yang asked Ma Xixi to help him set it up, and soon the camera was on.

The screen showed a greasy-looking Ma Xixi and the stunningly handsome Jiang Yang.

Holding the camera, Jiang Yang casually adjusted the angle. The viewers, however, couldn’t find a single flaw in his youthful face.

After letting the audience admire his looks, Jiang Yang joked to liven up the atmosphere:

“Alright, you’ve seen enough. Time to pay your beauty tax! How about some free ‘Tiger Tokens’ to spoil the streamer?”

Ma Xixi stared in disbelief as the screen filled with gifts.

Not just the cheap tokens—some rich viewers were sending high-value gifts too.

Are you really a streaming rookie?

“Alright, folks, as the saying goes, ‘Attracted by the looks, stayed for the talent.’”

“You’ve seen the looks; now it’s time for the talent showcase!”

“Unfortunately...” Jiang Yang suddenly feigned a lament, “I’m no longer the unbeatable C+ Demon King!”

Hearing this, the viewers assumed he had dropped in rank and laughed in delight.

Then Jiang Yang opened his stats panel.

“How did I win so many matches this afternoon and end up in B Rank?” he sighed theatrically.

But his smirk betrayed him, and the audience erupted in laughter.

[This kid is killing me.]

[Oscar-worthy acting!]

[He’s more entertaining than MO.]

[Ma Xixi looks so uneasy—he’s about to lose his throne.]

[1.29 rating—Cousin’s a beast!]

Feigning distress, Jiang Yang added, “I didn’t want to win. I just wanted to stay the Demon King of C+!”

Even as he spoke, he couldn’t keep a straight face, his grin harder to suppress than an AK recoil.

The viewers were laughing so hard they could hardly type, while Jiang Yang’s self-deprecating humor made him instantly relatable.

Ma Xixi had to admit, Jiang Yang had an innate talent for entertaining a livestream audience.

“Playing in B Rank ladder matches is boring,” Jiang Yang remarked. “How about I open a prediction game?”

“What do you have in mind?” Ma Xixi asked.

Jiang Yang, brimming with confidence, announced:

“Let’s bet on whether I can get 10 kills as a CT in the next game!”

Ma Xixi: ?
