Dark Magus Returns

Chapter 1119 That Man Is Not Him

When Aurora had heard the name Raze, it had reminded her of one person. There was an infamous old man that would be pictured in anyone's head when the name was used. Due to the person's name and who it was attached to, most in Alterian that had the name decided to change it, believing that it might bring bad superstitions and luck to their family.

The name Raze Cromwell. When hearing the name, Aurora originally thought it wasn't too strange. Not everyone did change their name, only the very frantic, or those cautious it might cause issues to their kids at school.

On top of that, she still hadn't quite made the relation that those in Pagna were from Alterian. Lastly, there was one more thing; seeing Raze, she knew him as Jake, and that was the only name she knew.@@novelbin@@

Jake wasn't the Dark Magus, at least not the Dark Magus that was plastered all over Alterian, that was an old wrinkly man. Yet Jake was a young, handsome man; she didn't put two and two together.

"Dark Magus… why are you saying that name, I've never met the Dark Magus before!" Aurora quickly snapped back. "That's such a sick thing to say."

Tilon looked at his other clan members for a moment, wondering what that reaction was for. They were sure she had met Raze, and that was the Dark Magus that they all knew.

"Did… he not tell her everything?" Alba asked.

The Crimson Crane were close enough to know Raze. He had mentioned a few things here and there, about how he was a wanted man in Alterian, how he wasn't a good person, and about his goals in taking down the Grand Magus.

To be honest, though, for Pagna warriors, a lot of what Raze did was the norm of most Clan Heads when trying to reach the top. Attacking anyone who got in their way for their goal. It was just the whole world had joined against Raze, so he had no choice to harm those that might have been less deserving of it as a whole.

"I thought he might have brought it up, but he seemed to be a little busier than others," Charlotte said with a sigh.

"What… what's the big deal?" Cronker said. "That Raze is the Dark Magus. Is it really a problem in Alterian."

"You shouldn't use those two names together!" Aurora snapped back once again. "I don't know why you keep on saying that, but that man, Raze here is not the Dark Magus. If you know the things he did, the terror he caused the entire of Alterian, you wouldn't be saying things so badly."

"You know, I think this might be the first time I've seen someone from Alterian act this way when hearing his name," Kizer said. "What exactly was it that Raze did that was so bad in Alterian, I mean this Dark Magus."

Aurora's body was still shaking as she remembered the news, the reports, and the words of others each day. It was hammered into her that the Dark Magus was nothing but evil.

"In the first place, the Dark Magus has his name because he uses Dark Magic. A magic whose basis is that of death. In order to grow stronger, the only way is to take life. Anyone who decides to go down this path already has something wrong with them."

Again, this didn't seem like that much of a big deal to the warriors in the Crimson Crane. When becoming a warrior, it was about loss and taking. At some point, it had to happen, and each of them had taken many lives during the battles they faced.

"He would take out entire guilds, annihilating them just because they went against his morals. He attacked the Central Mage Academy, filled with students who were only learning magic to better their lives."

"He would kill those on the streets, destroy factories and more. Rather than saying what he did do, it would be easier to say what hasn't he done. He was against the whole of Alterian, and everyone had to live life in fear because of him!" Aurora had shouted all of those words that she was almost out of breath.

It was quite clear that she was trying to convince the others from her words, but the more that she saw next to no reaction from them, the more she started to shout.

"I just don't think Raze is that bad, based on everything he's done here for us. I mean, I guess to the Light Faction maybe they would view him this way as well. An ally to one is an enemy to another," Lily said with a smile.

Aurora lifted her arms to her head and almost pulled them out. "That's what I'm trying to say, you can't compare that Raze Cromwell, the Dark Magus, to this one! He was an enemy to everyone, and an ally to no one!"

The reaction that Aurora had right now, the only person in the room that could understand it was Charlotte. It was hard to explain the years they had spent living during the period of the Dark Magus.

Everyone was truly afraid anywhere they went that he would appear. Her reaction was the typical one, and if it wasn't for the fact that she had followed Raze's journey in Pagna, then maybe she would feel the same way.

"Maybe Raze has changed a bit from the time he was in Alterian," Alba said. "He seems to have even changed a lot since when we first met him."

"Yeah, he does still give me the creeps sometimes, though," Tilon added.

"Charlotte, these people aren't understanding," Aurora said, turning to the only person that made her feel sane in this room. "What is going on, why is the Raze, or Jake using the Dark Magus's name here, there must be a reason, right."

Charlotte thought about what to say for a while, until she eventually sighed and gave an answer.

"It's because… the Raze here, the Raze Cromwell, really is the same Dark Magus that we know," Charlotte explained.
