Chapter 861: 506: Underworld of Divine Blood
F{h*F5#+LjChapter 506: Underworld of Divine Blood
“Strength is indeed important, but compared to someone you wish to protect, it is nothing more than that.”
Logan coldly chuckled, his eyes becoming even more chilling afterwards.
“If this is the extent of the challenge, it’s completely unnecessary.”
As his words fell, he watched the Illusionary Realm shatter before him, ceasing to exist.
Here, within the remnants of the shattered Illusionary Realm, he discovered a pile of rare and exotic treasures. Any one of them, if taken out, could have caused a stir in the outside world. What surprised Logan even more was the complete absence of a Guardian Beast nearby.
Can there really be such good fortune in this world?
He hesitated for a moment, until a figure with white hair and a white robe appeared before him.
It was a woman with a cold but stunningly beautiful face, her slender lashes quivering slightly, yet with her eyes closed she seemed to be facing nothing more than some easily disposable trash.
The woman held a Longsword, abruptly launching an attack toward him.
Logan didn’t have time to think too much, as he immediately gathered his Spiritual Energy to counterattack, but when he made his move, he realized something was wrong; his powers were suppressed.
When facing this woman, all his attacks were significantly weakened.
Something was off!
The environment he was in seemed to be one of suppression, but he didn’t sense any Malice from the woman attacking him. Her attack seemed more like a deterrence.
Logan looked at her cold visage that one glance alone could chill someone, hesitated for a moment, but in the end did nothing, nor did he use the Spirit Gathering Array to fight her desperately.
The white-haired woman eventually gained the upper hand, but she didn’t deliver a killing blow to Logan. Instead, she stopped at just demonstrating her control. It seemed like the white-haired woman learned something from their brief confrontation.
She looked at him indifferently, speaking word by word.
“You came here by mistake. I do not wish to take a life, and since you have arrived here by fate, I will allow you to take one thing with you, but only one, and you may not return.”
The white-haired woman sheathed her Longsword, her tone still detached.
Logan raised an eyebrow, considering this to be quite generous. To not be driven out directly?
But no, to those who are greedy, being allowed only one treasure out of so many would certainly engender dark thoughts. This woman seemed to have a firm grasp on human nature.
“Thank you, miss.”
Logan was not greedy, or at least he could not show it openly. He approached the treasures, beginning to choose. At that moment, a green light shot from his brow, guiding him.
He knew this was what Master Nineteen had implanted into his forehead, and he hadn’t expected it to come into play here.
The green light eventually converged on an inconspicuous Furnace Cauldron. At first glance, Logan found it intriguing and, without hesitation, chose the Furnace Cauldron.
“I choose this!”
The instant the woman heard his voice, she opened her eyes and saw the object of his choice. A flicker of emotion, seeming like surprise or perhaps shock, crossed her otherwise impassive face.
Although she quickly returned to her serene state, Logan noticed the anomaly.
He intuitively felt there had to be something unusual about this Furnace Cauldron; otherwise, the woman would not have reacted that way.
“No.”
Sure enough, with just two words, the woman curtly rejected his choice.
“There’s no reason why.”
The woman skirted around the topic, refusing to explain her reasons.
“In any case, I said no, which means no. You may choose something else, but you cannot take this Furnace Cauldron.”
Logan curved his lips into a smirk.
“I was only momentarily intrigued, but seeing your hesitation, I can’t help but choose it now. Since you allowed me to choose without conditions, it seems I have the right to choose, and I want this Furnace Cauldron.”
“You!”
A frost seemed to cover the woman’s icy face, now tinted with a trace of anger.
Logan wasn’t flustered by angering the woman and simply looked at her calmly.
“I can understand your concern, miss. Clearly, this Furnace Cauldron is very important to you, a rare treasure not easily relinquished. But, a fine item should belong to a worthy owner. Since you have left it idle for so long, obviously you’re not its true Master. In that case, why not let someone with a discerning eye take possession of it?”
The woman scoffed, her tone tinged with detachment.
“You are quite the silver-tongued one, and adept at praising yourself.”
Logan laughed again.
“If you truly refused, you would have already banished me from the Illusionary Realm. The fact that you’re still here engaging with me indicates that what I choose is not for you to decide. If I insist on taking the Furnace Cauldron, there’s nothing you can do, is there?”
The woman seemed to resonate with his statement, her gaze shifting slightly as she slightly lowered her head in silence. When she looked back at Logan, there was a hint of hostility in her eyes.
Logan quickly clarified for himself.
“Rest assured, miss, I have no intentions of opposing you, nor do I wish to offend you. It’s just that I truly admire this particular Furnace Cauldron and hope for your indulgence.”
Having said that, he bowed politely, his face filled with earnest sincerity.@@novelbin@@
The woman remained silent, watching him for a while as if torn or pondering something, then finally spoke after a while.
“It’s not impossible for me to agree, but you must be skilled in alchemy. The owner of a Furnace Cauldron who doesn’t know alchemy would be a joke, wouldn’t it?”
She laid out a stringent requirement: after all, alchemists were rare in this world, and even fewer could successfully command a Furnace Cauldron.
But Logan was confident in himself, and even without confidence, he was willing to give it a try.
What do you think?
