“May I give it a try?”
The woman’s eyes narrowed slightly, and it seemed a trace of astonishment flashed through them.
“Oh? Aren’t you worried at all? I’ve told you frankly, if you cannot use the Furnace Cauldron, not only will you not be able to take it with you, but you will also lose the chance to choose another treasure. Have you made up your mind?”
As she spoke, she didn’t wait for Logan to reply, and muttered to herself.
“If I were you, I definitely wouldn’t take the risk. It’s better to safely choose a treasure and leave this Illusionary Realm than to end up empty-handed in the end.”
Logan realized that the others didn’t want him to try, but they weren’t necessarily wrong in their concern for him.
He smiled.
“Thank you for your kindness, miss, but I have made up my mind. I haven’t taken a liking to any of the other items; the Furnace Cauldron is the only thing I want, and I only plan to take it with me. If I can’t take it, then the other items are meaningless to me.”
The woman did not seem to expect his stubbornness and fell silent.
“Alright, since you’ve made up your mind, go ahead and try.”
Her expression was cool and indifferent, revealing neither pleasure nor disapproval.
Logan smiled and bowed again.
“Thanks for letting me proceed. Whether it works out or not, it’s all up to my fate with the Furnace Cauldron.”
Saying this, he looked at the Furnace Cauldron with eyes full of determination and seriousness. He took out some Spirit Grass from his space, processed them simply, and didn’t plan to refine any sophisticated elixir, just a casual attempt.
“Let’s refine a basic Revival Pill then. Afterwards, I’ll need you to critique it for me, miss.”
The woman’s lips curled into a cold smile.
“Let’s see if you can refine it at all. If you’re not favored by the cauldron, don’t expect it to produce even a weed for you.”
Logan raised an eyebrow, not expecting the Furnace Cauldron to have such a personality; this piqued his interest even more, and he became even more fond of it. Then, with full concentration, he began placing the herbs into the Furnace Cauldron one by one.
He stoked the flames and started on the basic process of refining the Revival Pill.
Unexpectedly, he encountered no difficulty at all, and it went more smoothly than with any Furnace Cauldron he had used before. The entire refining process was completed in one go, surprisingly harmonious, and when he obtained the finished product, it had taken much less time than before.
Logan was overjoyed, and his gaze at the Furnace Cauldron held even more affection.
“Truly a fine item; the speed of refining elixirs has more than doubled compared to before.”
The woman watched him, her gaze complex, biting her lower lip.
“It varies from person to person. If one isn’t to the Furnace Cauldron’s liking, not only will it not speed up the process, but it could explode at any moment. Even the best of Heavenly and Earthly Treasures will be reduced to rubble. You are the first whose use the Furnace Cauldron has not rejected and has cooperated with.”
Her voice was soft and slow, as if telling a story.
Upon hearing her words, Logan couldn’t help but feel elated.
“Is that so? It seems I’m indeed very fated with this Furnace Cauldron.”
Among so many treasures, he chose it at first glance, and it, among all those who came and went, uniquely chose him.
Such mutual pursuit could also be considered a special kind of destiny.
Now, it would be hard to justify not taking it with him.
With the bright reality before him, the woman had no more reasons to refuse.
“Alright, since the Furnace Cauldron doesn’t reject you and you have such alchemy skills, I have nothing more to say. Go ahead and bond with it through blood.”
Logan didn’t hesitate any longer; he immediately bit his finger and let a drop of blood fall, which quickly merged into the Furnace Cauldron. The once dimly lit cauldron seemed to emit a light at that moment.
Once the bonding was complete, the Furnace Cauldron shed its prior darkness to reveal its true form.
This was actually a rather luxurious Furnace Cauldron, emerald green in color, with ancient characters carved on it, lavish and mysterious, nothing like the initially seen tarnished little piece of junk.
And the woman radiated a glow similar to that of the Furnace Cauldron, clearly having a deep connection with it.
Logan noticed something off about the woman and narrowed his eyes slightly.
“You are…?”
The woman lowered her head to glance at herself, her indifferent gaze showing no significant fluctuation. Nonetheless, she parted her lips slightly to make a case for herself.
“Now that it’s come to this, I don’t need to keep hiding it from you. Actually, I am the artifact spirit of this Furnace Cauldron. By binding the Furnace Cauldron just now, you effectively bound me as well, Owner.”
The term ‘Owner’ as it came from her lips did not seem respectful, even carrying a hint of arrogance. Clearly, even though she was now bound, she still maintained her pride.
Logan chuckled, having never before encountered such a spirited artifact spirit. However, each person has a different personality, and artifact spirits are the same, generally influenced by their Owner. He wondered how many previous Owners this woman might have had before him?
As he thought this, he asked her outright.
But upon hearing the question, the woman’s face showed little expression, and she answered nonchalantly.
“No, there’s nothing, you are the very first Owner I’ve had.”
Logan was genuinely taken aback upon hearing that.
He hadn’t expected such a fateful connection, yet the personality of this artifact spirit was perhaps a bit too distinctive.
It could be that her long stay in the Illusionary Realm had rendered her solitary and prideful, which was a possibility. After all, geniuses are often arrogant, so it was only natural for this unique Furnace Cauldron to possess a spirit different from ordinary things.
Logan was not bothered by this.@@novelbin@@
As long as the tool was handy and worked well, the character of its spirit wasn’t significant.
“Good, from now on, I am your master. I hope you can assist me well with my alchemy. Of course, I will do my best to help you upgrade.”
It was at his last words that a hint of emotion finally appeared in the woman’s eyes, and she bowed sincerely.
“Thank you, Master.”
Logan smiled and seemed to think of something else, so he asked.
“By the way, I don’t know your name. What is it?”
“White Elizabeth, my name is White Elizabeth.”
“White Elizabeth…”
Logan murmured with a smile playing on his lips, meaningful.
“Nice name, it suits you well. As expected, the name matches the person. Well, now you should be able to break us out of this Illusionary Realm, right?”
Without hesitation, White Elizabeth broke the illusion.
The scenery before his eyes changed entirely, and he soon found himself back in the forest where he had first entered. The Furnace Cauldron was still there, restored to its luster, looking radiantly divine, while White Elizabeth’s figure was no longer visible.
Suddenly, a voice from the Void reached his ears.
“Master, a long period of dormancy has weakened my spirit. I am now resting in the Furnace Cauldron. If there’s any way you need me, call upon me anytime.”
Logan nodded in understanding, not insisting on White Elizabeth’s appearance, acknowledging that he comprehended, and afterwards, he stored the Furnace Cauldron in his space and turned to leave.
Now that he had the Furnace Cauldron, there was no need to search for rarer herbs. After all, no matter how good the herbs are, their efficacy can’t compare to that of an Elixir.
Earlier he had thought there was no hope for Lexi Carr’s injuries, but now with the Furnace Cauldron in hand, along with the Spirit Grass in his space, it was worth a shot to try and heal her.
He quickly returned with the Furnace Cauldron, and anytime he came across Herbal Medicine, he would refine Elixirs on the way, fighting for every chance.
By the time he got back, he had several different kinds of Elixirs at hand. He directly addressed the illness and fed the appropriate Elixirs to Lexi Carr.
“Don’t worry. After taking these Elixirs, you will start to recover gradually.”
Lexi Carr had not expected that Logan’s single trip would bring him Elixirs. He had thought himself beyond saving, simply waiting for death in calm resignation.
But unexpectedly, the situation turned around, and now he was able to take Elixirs even within the Secret Land?
“Young Master Logan, these…where did these Elixirs come from? They’re too precious.”
“Don’t worry, I stumbled upon a Furnace Cauldron, and I made these Elixirs myself. They are beneficial for your injuries. Eat them quickly.”
Hearing this, Lexi Carr was even more grateful, his face displaying his emotions, as a grown man’s tears began to well up, nearly breaking into a cry right there and then.
“Young Master Logan, thank you, you’ve been too kind to me, now I can also go on living.”
Logan chuckled, feeling that this little member of the Demon Race was rather naive and straightforward.
What do you think?
