"Auntie…" Luo Hongye turned her head hesitantly, her voice soft and timid, before immediately burying her face back into Luo Ruying’s embrace. It was clear she was still unwilling to let Luo Ruxin hold her.

Luo Ruxin felt her heart drop to rock bottom. It really seemed like she was being rejected…

Luo Ruying found this behavior curious as well. Although Luo Hongye was indeed shy around strangers, she had never acted this way toward kind and friendly people. With Qi Yuan, and even when meeting Yue Qingyou for the first time, she had allowed herself to be held.

Luo Hongye’s simple words of ‘doesn’t like Auntie’ struck Luo Ruxin like a dagger to the heart. It hurts… My adorable niece truly dislikes me…

Ning Yechen, on the other hand, was overjoyed to learn that Luo Hongye’s resistance stemmed from Luo Ruxin’s rudeness toward him, and a wide smile spread across his face. My daughter is so sensible~

Luo Ruying turned back with a gentle smile. "I’m just an ordinary woman now. What’s wrong with that?"

With that, she disappeared into the kitchen.

Yue Qingyou cast a glance at Luo Ruxin before quietly following Luo Ruying into the kitchen to assist.

Ning Yechen glanced at the offerings and chuckled. These are just the most common fruits and snacks from the Heavenly Realm. In the Demon Realm, they wouldn’t even qualify to be served on my table.

Seeing his amused expression, Luo Ruxin frowned. What’s with him?! Is he laughing at me? This ignorant mortal has no idea how rare these delicacies are in the Mortal Realm!

"Yeye, why don’t you try Auntie’s snacks?" Luo Ruxin said, her tone suddenly soft and full of anticipation, hoping to win back Luo Hongye’s favor. She couldn’t stand being disliked by her niece.

Luo Hongye glanced at the table, then looked up at Ning Yechen, seemingly seeking permission.

Ning Yechen smiled and gently patted her head. "Since it’s your aunt’s intention, go ahead and try them."

Encouraged, Luo Hongye picked up a piece of pastry and took a bite.

"How is it, Yeye?" Luo Ruxin asked expectantly and nervously.

"It’s yummy!" Luo Hongye replied cheerfully.

Luo Ruxin beamed with pride, her heart swelling with satisfaction. See? Winning over a child is all about winning over their stomach first!

Certain that Luo Hongye would now see her in a better light, she smiled confidently. "This must be the best thing you’ve ever eaten, right, Yeye? Tell Auntie if you like it, and I’ll prepare more for you next time."

Luo Hongye paused briefly, then shook her head without hesitation.

"My favorite is grilled sausages," she said with conviction.

"Grilled… sausages?!" Luo Ruxin’s eyes widened in disbelief. Her delicacies from the Heavenly Realm were defeated by grilled sausage from the Mortal Realm?!

Losing to sausages was a crushing blow to Luo Ruxin’s pride.
