Chapter 270 Hell On Earth.

The elven kings have discovered that as long as one of them disrupts the gravitational field that contains the plasma ammunition and holds down the target from outside of it, the target within will be able to escape, and the attack will miss.

This is the major weakness of the Hammer of Dawn. So the elven kings were able to escape the attack.

But the mortals below couldn't escape from the fallout of that attack being used against them. The ground exploded, and lava submerged them.

It was hell on earth for the mortals. Unfortunately, it was only the beginning.

Command activated the lasers that they sent to low orbit with the satellites that they had launched. This caused pillars of fire to shoot down from the sky on top of the mortals.

Unlike the hammer of dawn, the pillars of fire had a more contained damage range. So Command was able to use them to target the elven army alone. However, any human soldier in their paths would be incinerated too.

About ten yellow pillars of fire fell from the sky. They moved around destroying everything in their way. They turned the ice plain around the base into a lake very quickly.

The combined power of the hammer of God and the pillars of fire worked together to evaporate the lake very quickly, which turned the battlefield into a sauna.

The steam reduced visibility and prevented the mortals from seeing where they were going. They couldn't see danger around them, so they couldn't dodge.

They couldn't even run away from the pillars of fire when it was a long way away. Instead, some of them ran towards the moving pillars of fire and were incinerated quickly.

The steamed landscape looked peaceful, but it only obscured the death and massacre going on within it.

Just the hot steam alone was enough to kill most mortals. But it also made things more difficult for those who would have been able to escape if they didn't have something obscuring their visibility.

The steam also affected Kelvin's eyes. His natural infrared vision from life core ability and the one from the military goggles were also impacted.

Fortunately, he didn't need the military goggles to avoid danger. In fact, he had already discarded his military equipment since the first time he used blood clones.

His Extraordinary Perception ability is already good enough. It is a good thing he has this ability because it can still help him avoid danger when he is deep underground.

That's where he is currently. He has also used blood clones and scattered them in different directions. Then he made all the clones drill into the ground and run in the direction of the barrier.

Each clone is white due to his diamond physique. They have incredible defense that helped them bear the pressure of the ground and incredible sharpness that helped them dig through the ground quickly.

Unfortunately, this much preparation has been far from enough to preserve their lives. He can tell that they are dying separately and quickly.@@novelbin@@

The blood clones have been scattered in such a way that the farthest ones apart have a distance of three kilometers between them. Even then, more than 30% died in 10 seconds, and more are still dying.

By the time 30 seconds passed since the demigods intervened in their battle, 95% of the blood clones had died. However, he was only a third of the way to his destination.

30 seconds is more than enough time for him to rush back into the barrier if he had been able to run at his full speed in a straight line towards the barrier. Unfortunately, he is in the ground digging towards his destination.

He had avoided most of the danger by going underground, but being underground is not completely safe either. Continue reading stories on My Virtual Library Empire

The hammer of dawn in particular has made it very unsafe because of its penchant for creating lava pits that erupt out of the ground as if the ground was an active volcano.

Now he doesn't have much of a choice, so he took the risk to cancel his blood clone ability. This caused one of his clones to revert to his full size.

He had only used one blood clone to form his body because the clones were too far apart, and he didn't want to waste time waiting for them to return.

Because he had used just one clone to recreate his body out of the one thousand blood clones that he created to maximize his chances of survival, his life force has become terribly injured, and he only has 0.1% of it left.

When he reformed his body in the ground, he had so little focus and stamina that he could barely move his chest to breathe. He certainly couldn't move around to continue to escape.

Fortunately, he is not the only one dying around him. A lot of people were dying too and losing life force rapidly. So he was able to use his last stamina to latch onto their life force and drain it for his personal use.

This is why he dared to risk canceling the blood clone ability at this point. He sensed that there was a lot of leaking life force around him which would be of a lot of help to him.

As he was replenishing his life force and healing, he could increase the range and power of his life siphon ability, which increased the rate at which he healed.

Unfortunately, he couldn't heal completely because he sensed a fiery pillar coming his way. So he stopped when he was at 76% life force capacity.

Then he exploded into blood clones again and scattered them away from the path of the pillar of fire. Next, he resumed his journey to reach the barrier.

He had to do this several times before he finally reached the barrier. When he came out of the ground within the barrier, he found that he was not the only one there.
