Chapter 352 Annoyed.
Mykel defeated all the demons that blocked his path with a mere flick of a finger. He turned them all into pulp and made the demons fear his existence the moment he released a tiny bit of his true existence. Not only were demons, but everyone was so afraid of him that they had to make some distance to keep themselves calm.
"Is he in a bad mood or something? He looks like he's going to create a total mess if he can't calm himself down," Javelin asked as she was walking behind Zachary because she felt safer that way.
Mykel was in fact in a really bad mood after Aevia told him about Elena's condition. What put him in a really bad mood was the fact that Aevia kept rubbing salt on Elena's wound. The other thing that made him angrier was the fact that Elena had given up on living.
Aevia was doing that on purpose to test Mykel if he had a hidden motive because lately, she felt like something was amiss. She didn't know what it was, and yet she felt like something was coming toward her, like a disaster.
After walking for hours, they saw two pillar-like boulders as high as the sky reached. They looked at their left and right and saw more of them in the distance which made them feel a bit uneasy. The distance from one pillar to another was a kilometer away, and when Javelin flew high in the sky, she realized those pillars made a big circle like Stonehenge but way wider.
"There's something in the distance, but I can't tell what it is because it was blocked by some kind of a barrier," Javelin explained as soon as she landed. "Also, I saw so many demons and they were quite big. It might be too much even for us, but I'm not sure about him though" she added as she looked at Mykel staring at the distance on his own.
Mykel wasn't staring at the distance, he was staring at Aevia who was standing right in front of him. He was annoyed by her presence even though he didn't want him to appear and he couldn't get her out of his head.
"Aevia, leave me alone," Mykel said with a cold expression.
"What can you do? You can't do anything," Aevia responded and looked at Mykel with her head tilted.
Mykel pressed the ground and it was enough to make the ground under his feet and kilometers away crack open. Everyone was startled and immediately ran to the sides to avoid the avalanche, and they were scared that the boss might have appeared.
"Don't try me," Mykel coldly stared at Aevia.
The crack became wider and the ground trembled harder because Mykel kept pushing his foot down. The pillars started to tilt and were on the brink of collapsing as the ground started to sink and an avalanche happened near the crack.
It was the first time Aevia had been seen being stared at like that and being threatened by Mykel. She could feel his anger fuming and she knew she had gone too far, and what she did might trigger something worse. But, she wasn't afraid and she didn't like how Mykel looked and talked to her.
"Once this is over, we will have a talk..." Aevia said and her voice was enough to put Mykel in a weakened state. Enjoy your time while you still have it," she warned and then disappointed.
The pillars collapsed and everyone ran for their lives as the impact would make the avalanche even worse. They might die if they stayed, but Mykel didn't move a muscle as the pillars hit the ground right in front of and behind him. He couldn't move because of Aevia, and he was quite lucky that the pillar didn't hit him in that state.
Mykel fell into the gap of the crack and he didn't know how far the hole was as he kept falling for almost half a minute. He didn't try to fly back up because he felt something below him and wanted to check what it was.
As soon as he saw the glowing orange light, his ears were scratched by the screams and cries of tortured souls. He landed and looked around him but he didn't see anything, and the voices were coming below the ground under him.@@novelbin@@
Zachary and the others went to check the situation after the pillars collapsed. They saw the massive cracks in the ground and it was impossible to go to the other side anymore. Luckily everyone was together except for Mykel's team who was on the other side.
"Wait, where's Mykel?" Zachary looked around to find Mykel.

They couldn't find Mykel among the people, but then someone pointed out that Victoria and the others went to the crack. They looked at them and were dumbfounded when they saw Victoria and the others jump into the crack.
Zachary and the others were confused at first until Javelin noticed that the pillars had been destroyed by the earthquake and that also meant the barrier should be affected by it as well. Javelin went up high into the sky and it was as she expected that the barrier disappeared and she could see some kind of a statue.
"Everyone! Follow me!" Javelin shouted as she was floating in the air.
They followed Javelin and the truth was they couldn't say no since she was the one who provided the cold and chill wind. Without her, they all would end up burning to their deaths and they didn't have a choice but to rely on her power.
Somehow the heat became bearable and not long after that, the heat turned into a chill wind. They didn't have to rely on Javelin's magic anymore and then they saw the dark sky slowly disappearing and the light sipping out from beyond the clouds.
"What's going on here?" Aston asked and he didn't like the sudden change even though it was a good thing.
"The answer is over there, so let's just keep walking," Javelin answered as she landed right next to Aston and canceled her magic around everyone. "I understand your feelings, so let's just be careful," she added.
When they saw the statue, they were speechless and taken aback by how big it was. Not only was the statue big, but it was so majestic and extremely detailed that a human couldn't create it. A statue of a woman with a blindfold, holding a staff and a sword, her six wings covered by pieces of clothes.
"Mephis, the Eyes of Judgement," Zachary read the words carved on the bottom of the statue. "She sees what you have seen, she hears what you have heard, and she feels what you have touched. She will judge you for your sins and bring you to the place where you belong," he added.
"So she's the demon who brought the damned souls to hell. But, the one that we saw back then is different from the statue here," Aston mentioned as he admired the statue.
"Then that means she's not the last one. There's still one more demon that awaits us somewhere," Javelin responded and she didn't like that at all.
Zachary nodded in agreement as he looked around but didn't find anything at all. There was no demon, no monster, and Mephis wasn't with them as well which made him wonder what they should do next.
"That message, I think we should be judged before we can meet her," Javelin mentioned as she walked toward the statue and stood in front of it.
Before Aston could ask how Javelin touched the statue, and then the statue suddenly moved around like it was alive. Everyone was startled and immediately went on guard, preparing to fight, but the statue didn't attack them.
"I see, so that's how it is," Javelin took a few steps back as the statue projected the deeds Javelin had committed. "I hope it doesn't show any embarrassing moments in my life," she said.
Memories of Javelin were flashing in front of everyone and they couldn't tell what they were looking at because they moved so fast. The statue was scanning through memories for deeds that could be called a sin.
The memories suddenly disappeared and a notification appeared in front of Javelin.
"You're not eligible to enter as you haven't done any bad deeds," Javelin read the notification loudly. "Does that mean I can't face Mephis because I'm not a bad person?" she raised her eyebrows.
"I'm not sure what's going on, but something has been so different lately since the last raid. There seems to be some kind of a challenge before we can fight the demon," Javelin mentioned and told them about the last raid when the others were stuck in the city.
"Well, there's only one way to enter meet Mephis which is to do the same thing as Victoria and the others. We must jump down into the crack," Zachary pointed out as he looked at the crack. "It's better this way because I believe someone's deeds aren't meant to be seen by others."
Javelin was the one who led the team and created stairs made of ice down in between the cracks. It was a long way down and she decided to make a slide since it would take a while if they had to walk down the stairs. She was flying and making the slide for everyone. It was fun and terrifying at the same time, even Zachary was nervous to use it.
It was a long ride and everyone almost got a heart attack because of how deep the hole was and how fast the slide was. They couldn't stop screaming and they were on their knees, trembling the moment they reached the bottom.
"Welcome. Took you a while to get here," Victoria looked at Javelin. "But you came at the right time because the main event is about to begin," she pointed her thumb at the distance.
Zachary, Aston, and Javelin looked at where Victoria was pointing at. They were shocked when they saw a woman, similar to the statue that they saw above, floating in the sky, staring down at them with her left white feathered wing and right black feathered wing. Her silver hair and eyes were so hypnotizing that they didn't believe that the woman was a demon.
"Mephis," Javelin mumbled as she was mesmerized by Mephis' beauty.
"Mephis? So that's her name," Victoria hummed as the folded fan covered her mouth.
What do you think?
