Chapter 361 Darker than black.
Elestria was busy planning the next move to conquer Dystrovia's nation which had stabilized. It would be hard to take over that nation when strong figures appeared everywhere. What made it a bit surprising was those figures worked under the Five Sinners.
"Call Victoria and tell her that I summoned her and I want her to be here in thirty minutes," Elestria said to her assistant.
The assistant bowed his head and hurriedly went to make a call.
It didn't take thirty minutes for Victoria to come to the Queen's palace and be in Elestria's presence. She was on her knee, lowering her head, and wondered why suddenly Elestria wanted to see her.
"These people, do you know them?" Elestria signaled her assistant to show the photos of the strong figures in Dystrovia nation. "I believe these people are your friends' lackeys," she added.
Victoria looked at those photos and she recognized all of them and they were in fact Sabel's and Sophia's people. Those figures were trying to take over territories in Dystrovia nation as their base, a place where a bunch of criminals lived.
"Yes, I know these people, Your Majesty. What do you want me to do to these people? Do you want me to turn them into your pawns just like Melissa?" Victoria asked as she kept staring at the photos.
"You quick to catch on. Yes, I want you to make them my pawns so I can take Dystrovia nation just like Verdentia Republic. Can you do it? You can ask your friends to give me those people," Elestria asked and she sounded a bit annoyed and disgusted talking with Victoria.
"Of course, Your Majesty," Victoria was holding her annoyed expression because she could tell all that from Elestria's voice. "Is there anything else, Your Majesty?" she asked.
"No, you can leave. I'm done with you," Elestria coldly answered.
Victoria left the throne room and suddenly smirked as she giggled, thinking how she could easily kill Elestria if she wanted to. But she had to wait for the right moment because the biggest threat was there, watching her. She could keep an eye on Mykel with her new power, the orbs that Nephilim used to be her eyes, and the orbs could make themselves invisible.
"Soon you will regret not taking me seriously," Victoria closed her left eye so she could see through the orb where it was placed in the garden where Mykel, Elysande, and the kids were playing.
The world had almost forgotten about the real problem which was the invasion. It has been months since the last rift appeared, and people thought the world was soon to be freed from the invasion. Melissa and the others who knew kept their mouths shut about the truth. It would be best for those people to not think about the existence that could disintegrate the whole planet.

Melissa told Zachary and Aston the truth about Mykel's actions and why he did that. Neither of them could forgive what he did even though he was trying to save Melissa and Verdentia Republic. They didn't like the method he used, and they wanted to confront him or at least show their anger toward him.
The assassination was still a mystery of who did it because those who saw Mykel's face couldn't remember it after they were thrown away by an unknown force. Melissa told Zachary and Aston to not tell them who the culprit was and pretended that they forgot as well for their own safety and the people's.
When everyone was minding their own business, living a normal life in the middle of the day, suddenly everyone collapsed. Everyone fainted, only a few of them managed to keep their consciousness even though they were barely conscious.
Melissa fainted during the meeting with the officials, leaving only Zachary and Aston who were enjoying their coffee in the cafeteria. They both were shocked when they saw people collapsing and fainting around them. At first, they thought something or someone was trying to attack them, but when the sunlight disappeared into pitch black, that was when they realized what it was.
Almost all the Gifted were conscious and went outside to see what was going on. They looked at the sky and saw the sky disappeared, they could see stars and the universe clearly. It was beautiful and eerie at the same time when the ambient sound ringing inside their heads.
"This feeling is the same as back then..." Zachary breathed heavily as his heart pounded really fast.
"I feel it... too..." Aston got weakened and fell to his knees as his chest was being pressed from all sides.
Everyone else started to follow Aston and fainted, leaving only Zachary in the vicinity who was still conscious. He was confused since he didn't feel a thing until a loud cracking sound ripped the whole sky open. The pressure instantly made him lose strength and hit the ground really hard. He was so sleepy and had a massive headache the longer he tried to stay awake.
He didn't want to pass out yet until he could see the rift and what would happen to the world if he fainted. Not long after he thought about that, something came out of the rift, something black that covered the whole sky and blocked the beautiful view of the universe.
At that moment, Zachary was terrified when he saw wings darker than black covering the whole sky. Something that no human being could fight against it, and then a woman came out, the same mysterious woman he saw back then.
The woman was scanning the entire world and when she glanced at Zachary, it was when he felt like he was being shot in the head. He fainted with fear for the safety of the people and the fate of the world with nobody who could protect it.
Mykel looked at the woman from the middle of the street, smiling at her because he recognized her face. It was Anathiel and she looked the same as ever with her gentle and calm expression. She didn't have a threatening aura, it was her presence that was too much for mortals to comprehend.
Anathiel saw Mykel, the only person on the whole planet who was still conscious and unaffected by her presence. She flew toward him and she was right above him in a blink of an eye, and then she landed as she put her wings in her back.
She only wore a black sleeping dress and nothing else with her long black hair that covered half of her face. She was standing a few meters away from Mykel and stared at him silently as she tried to figure out how strong he was.
"I see you have our sisters' souls in you," Anathiel pointed out. "Why do you keep them?" she asked.
"It would be a waste to let them die and disappear. I'm keeping them because I believe they belong to me now," Mykel answered.
"Hmm..." Anathiel hummed as she took a step forward and it was enough to create a fierce wind that pushed the cars away from her. "Would you do that to me as well once you defeated me?" she asked and the glasses started to shatter.
"What makes you so confident that I would be able to defeat you?" Mykel raised his eyebrows and endured the strong wind and the deafening voice of Anathiel.
"Because I will allow myself to be killed by your hands," Anathiel suddenly appeared right in front of Mykel.
She blinked in and it was enough to collapse all the buildings around her. Mykel used his power and prevented the people from dying because he made a deal with Aevia to not let people die outside the rift.
"Impressive... I guess I don't need to let myself be killed. You might be able to kill me even if I took it seriously," Anathiel glanced and realized nobody died from the mess she created. "What should we do? Should we give it a try?" She raised her eyebrow and coldly stared into Mykel's eyes with a smirk on her face.@@novelbin@@
"I'll come for you, so wait for me," Mykel said calmly without showing any expression.
"You know that if you came into my world, you would not only face me but my sister as well. My power here and there is like a pond compared to the sea," Anathiel pointed out.
"That's even better," Mykel smirked as he stared into Anathiel's eyes. "I will come and greet your sister as well," he added.
Anathiel smiled and her smile was as gentle as ever, it was warm and innocent. She then spread her massive wings and flattened the whole city while Mykel protected every life in the city. She flew high without making a noise and no wind that could blast the whole kingdom. She entered the rift and everything went back to normal as people started to regain consciousness.
What do you think?
