Destroying My Own World

Chapter 400 No future.

Mykel devoured his future self and he could feel and see what happened in the future. It was painful to watch when he saw Elena use her body to absorb Aevia's power enough to kill her. If his future self hadn't devoured her, she would have died, but his decision was only buying her just a little time before she met her end.

He was blankly staring at the sky and could feel the overwhelming power inside his body. He never felt so powerful before, and that wasn't the only thing he received. In his future self's thoughts, he got valuable information that he could try, and that was to break the clock. It was the only thing that his future self hadn't tried, and he couldn't do it on his own as it was already too late.

While Mykel was thinking about it, he felt something weird happening inside his body. He realized that he was still connected with Elena and that she was currently being attacked by Aevia. He wanted to help her, but at the same time, he didn't want Aevia to know about the newly found power that his future self bestowed upon him. He didn't have time to think, and the thing he should do was meet with Amaryllis and the others.

Mykel entered Aevia's world and he just found out the name of that place, Naux, the space of time. He learned a lot of things from his future self, and the amazing thing was he knew where to go in that place. The place that was covered in white was more than just a vast emptiness, there were places hidden from the whiteness of the space.

"You're so omnipotent that you can travel at any time you want. Your existence is indeed too much to handle, but that's what makes you different from us," Mykel looked at the clock needles moving properly. "Your existence is unchanged, unaffected, and undefeated, but there's one thing that makes you weak. There's only one of you, you can't clone yourself and you can't be present in two different timelines," he pointed out and then looked at the river that led to the Archive.

Mykel found out about that when his future self managed to go to the past since his future self knew Aevia was trapped within that space. Aevia's existence was so powerful that her world couldn't even handle two of her. She was basically replacing herself from her future or from her past to deal with the situation, and that was what made her invincible and vulnerable at the same time.

"Your timeline isn't a straight line or a loop, it's something in between, or perhaps you don't even have a timeline at all," Mykel mumbled as he followed the river. "A singularity..." He stopped to think because his existence was also a singularity but an imperfect one. "You're trying to turn my existence like yours," he pointed out.

Mykel was so deep in thought that he didn't realize he was already in the Archive. He then saw Amaryllis' clones moving in and out from one record to another like a machine. He didn't let them notice his presence and kept walking until he found the record of his original world. Discover exclusive tales on My Virtual Library Empire

He entered the whirlpool and saw everyone was watching the memories so thoroughly. He then walked past Beldathiel who was at the far back since she was getting sleepy and didn't want to get caught sleeping.

"Just close your eyes and sleep, don't force yourself to stay awake," Mykel said as he smiled at her.

Beldathiel's eyes which were barely open because of sleepiness suddenly became wide awake after she saw Mykel. She saw him walking further away from her, and she didn't want to see him go away from her. She spread her wings and flew toward him at full speed, pushing him down to the ground and hitting everyone in front of her.

"Mykel!" Beldathiel screamed in joy as she sat on top of him and looked at him with teary eyes. "You..." She couldn't finish her sentence because it didn't matter anymore.

Everyone looked at Mykel and immediately surrounded him like ants finding a cube of sugar. They were glad to see him but at the same time confused as to why he was there and not with Elena. Suddenly Lyneth walked past the others and stood right next to him with a concerned look.

"Where's Elena?" Lyneth asked because that was what mattered to her. Of course, she was worried about Mykel too, but seeing him on his own only made her worried about Elena since she was on her own fighting Aevia.

"That's why I came here," Mykel stood up after Beldathiel moved to the side. "There's something I want to tell you guys," he added with a serious expression.

Everyone went quiet and listened to Mykel's story while Luciel was standing on the side with Sasha. They found out about Mykel's encounter with his future self, and it brought fear and anxiety when they heard about the future. The worst part was the fact that Mykel would be the only one left who was still alive and suffered from losing himself and the people he cared about.

"Are they always like this? I'm talking about their behaviors when Mykel was with them," Luciel asked Sasha quietly.

"Yes, because Mykel is like their God, their friend, their partner, a brother, a father, someone they respect, care and look up to. He's everything to them, and even for me, he's still my everything," Sasha answered and nodded her head as she looked at Mykel.

"Was I like this as well?" Luciel asked again.

"Like what?" Sasha asked back.

"This..." Luciel nodded up at the others who listened to Mykel obediently and didn't open their mouths until Mykel finished talking.

"What's wrong with this? I believe you and your sisters do the same thing, don't you? They would listen to you since they respect you, and you appreciate them for doing so. It's mutual respect, not just one-sided," Sasha looked at Luciel with her eyebrows raised. "Yes, Mykel is the leader of the pack, and as a leader, he only wants one thing, loyalty. If you are loyal to him, he will do anything back for you, that's how it works," she explained.

"You played a huge role back then, you were one of the few people that Mykel acknowledged. Not only did you help him, but you also stood almost equally with Mykel in that he didn't want to give you an order unless it was necessary. He knew that you could make the best decision and that's the reason why," Sasha pointed out.

Luciel hummed and realized she only looked at it with only one eye and not both. She then understood why Mykel helped her because she was valuable, dependable, and lastly, she could be trusted. She felt proud of herself knowing that, and to be praised like that moved her heart, and became more curious about her past life.

"So our future self couldn't defeat her, and now your future self sacrificed himself to you so you can defeat her in the future?" Rozan raised his eyebrows with a confused look. "Wouldn't that create a paradox? Like, you would sacrifice yourself to your past self later?" He added.@@novelbin@@

"No, the paradox has ended the moment Beldathiel's destroyed them. All my newer self that we created are gone, devoured by my power. Aevia has erased them as well when I got my power cleansed and replaced by hers," Mykel answered. "To put it simply, the first Mykel had gone to Naux when Beldathiel erased the remaining parallel universes. So it's just us and them

"So basically, that future you was the only one left other than you from the present which is right now?" Jeanne asked to confirm if she was on the same page as Mykel.

"Yes, just like her, I'm the only version of myself now, and I believe it applies to all of you as well," Mykel nodded his head.

"If we are on a rollercoaster and we are basically following the carts in front of us, and now the carts in front of us are gone, what does that mean?" Sven asked as he rubbed his chin.

"Not just the carts, the track is gone as well," Amaryllis answered as she looked at Mykel. "The track is basically the path that the front cart carved for the carts behind it. Now the front cart has disappeared, that means the track is gone as well," she added.

"So basically..." Aurea paused as she hummed. "There's no predetermined future?" She raised her eyebrows.

"Yes, and that also means, the future that Aevia has prepared for us is useless for her now that my future self is dead. Which means, there's no future Aevia, only present Aevia because she's forced to go back to the present and prepare a new future," Mykel nodded his head in agreement. "And right now, she's trapped in there with Elena," he added as he stared at the universe in front of him.
