Chapter 399 Future self.
Mykel and Elena were catching their breath as they looked at Aevia who was in a bad state just like them. The space they were in was a space where both Elena and Aevia's bodies collided and tried to merge with each other. Both Elena and Aevia were struggling to keep a hold of themselves and the power within them.
Mykel had been in that space for too long, and his presence there only put Elena in a bad state. The reason was that his nature to absorb anything made Elena lose quite a lot of life energy. This time, it wasn't her who took Mykel's life energy, it was Mykel who had overpowered her existence and her power.
Both Mykel and Elena knew that they had taken their sweet time for too long and that Aevia was no longer cornered. The worst part was that Aevia knew that all along, and the fact she had planned everything and put herself in that situation was a part of it.
It wasn't just Mykel or Elena who could pretend, Aevia got the best out of them and managed to deceive them as well. She already knew what would happen before she created that new world, and she was acting so passively to avoid being suspected by Mykel.
Aevia snapped her fingers and she replenished all the energy she had used and made her in her prime again. She looked at them and pitied them for trying so hard and yet they couldn't even defeat her after they planned everything.
"I'll give you one last chance, Mykel. Come to me and I'll spare their lives, but this time I will erase their memories about you and you will not remember them as well," Aevia said as she looked at them with pity.
"No, I would rather give up all my powers and live with them," Mykel answered without hesitation. "If you can't give me that, don't even think I would give myself to you," he added.@@novelbin@@
Aevia was looking at Mykel with a big smile on her face, and then she nodded her head with understanding. Her reaction made both Elena and Mykel a bit uneasy because they never thought she would understand and did not try to say anything about it. She then glanced at something and her expression changed in a split second as if something unpleasant had happened.
"Mykel…" Elena whispered as she glanced at Mykel.
Mykel looked at her and furrowed his eyebrows, wondering why she called him, but he nodded with understanding because he believed that Elena had something planned. He then glanced at Aevia, and she was still occupied by something that he didn't understand, and he believed that it was Sasha and the others that made her like that.

"I'm sorry, father…" Elena suddenly pushed Mykel and used quite a lot of force to push him away. "Trust me, this is the only way," she frowned as she watched Mykel being pulled out of the space by the energy.
Mykel didn't question Elena's decision, but seeing her on her own with Aevia, it made him worried about her. But when he looked at Aevia, he realized that Aevia was shocked that Elena was getting rid of Mykel. Seeing how Aevia reacted, it made him understand that maybe it was indeed for the best, so he looked at Elena and nodded with understanding once again.
Mykel didn't have the chance to say anything to Elena, and then he was brought back to the empty space. He realized he was sent back to the world where Elestria and the others lived, the vast universe that used to be filled with countless planets and stars had disappeared because he devoured them all. The only thing that was left was the white energy that he released, so he sucked all the energy and kept it inside him since he was no longer suffering from the overwhelming power that the energy possessed.
He descended back to Earth, but he didn't go to see Elestria and the others, he went to the highest mountain and looked down at how peaceful it was. He took his time to think since it was the perfect time to do so since Aevia couldn't monitor him or read his mind while she was in that space.
When he was thinking about what to do, he felt the sky above him pushing him down with immense power. He could barely stand up and look up at the sky, and then he saw the sky was being ripped apart and a blinding light hit his eyes, making him unable to see for a split second. After his eyes were adjusted by the light, he noticed someone was standing behind him, and when he turned around, he was shocked when he saw himself standing behind him.
"I know it's surprising, but this will be the first and the last time we see each other," The Mykel from another universe said as he stared into Mykel's eyes.
Mykel could see that his other self had suffered a lot and that his eyes looked empty as if he had lost everything. The way his other self talked was also enough to convince him that something bad would happen to him in the future.
"I'll tell you everything since you have a lot of time before you can take action, and for me…" The Mykel from another universe paused. "This might be the only time I have left," he continued with a sour expression, holding his tears and the pain that was killing him.
"We failed, didn't we?" Mykel asked and he never thought his future self would make such an expression.
Mykel knew that his other self was from the future and by judging his future self's condition, it wasn't just a failure, but a total defeat, a devastating result.
"Our plan failed, and everyone is dead…" Mykel from the future closed his eyes to remember how depressing it was and how he was powerless to defeat Aevia.
"And Elena?" Mykel asked.
Mykel from the future's expression changed when Mykel mentioned Elena, and then he slowly opened his eyes and stared into Mykel's soul. He then slowly lifted his left hand and put it in his chest without saying a word because the answer was right in front of Mykel.
"She sacrificed herself to free me from the bind shackles that Aevia put on me. She's still living inside me, fighting Aevia's power and trying to prevent Aevia from taking over my mind and body," Mykel from the future answered as he clenched his fist on his chest. "I'm all alone now, and I don't know how long until Elena can endure Aevia's power because as we speak, Elena's power is decreasing rapidly, and soon both she and I will disappear," he continued.
Mykel sat down and imagined himself in his future self's position, but he couldn't imagine how devastating it would be, and how painful it would be. He then understood why his future self looked like that and how desperate he was, making him wonder if he made the right choice.
"You will come up with a plan, a flawless plan that you think it would work, but it didn't. You will realize that she has prepared the countermeasure for your plan before you even come out with that idea. Whatever plan you're going to use, she will prepare the countermeasure because she can move from the future to the past just so we can't win," Mykel from the future pointed out as he sat down and leaned on a giant rock and looked down at the ground.
"Then what's the reason for you to come back here to see me? Giving me a warning won't make a difference because as you said earlier that we can't win against her," Mykel looked at his future self who had lost the will to live.
The Mykel from the future slowly lifted his head and showed his smirk at Mykel with his eyes filled with anger, desperation, and excitement. He then spread his arms showing his chest as he stared at Mykel.
"Kill me, take the power that Aevia bestowed upon me. Turn that power to go against her," Mykel from the future answered. "I have nothing to live for, the only thing that I want is to be with my precious daughter. Let me be with her inside you. I promise that I won't let that power take over your body," he added with a serious expression.
"You mean our body," Mykel stood up and walked toward his future self.
The Mykel from the future chuckled as he nodded his head with a big smile on his face.
"Please, don't let Elena sacrifice her life. We both know how precious she is to us, and nothing can replace her," Mykel from the future looked up at Mykel. "I have nothing else to say. You can get on with it, I'm ready whenever," he said as he offered his hand to Mykel.
When Mykel held his future self's hand, his hand was being held tightly by his future self.
"I almost forgot…" Mykel from the future said. "Kill that bitch for me," he continued.
"With pleasure," Mykel smirked.
What do you think?
