Chapter 405 Precious life she had.
Beldathiel and Luciel went straight to Gehenna and into one of the thirteen towers, the Sloth Tower. Beldathiel brought Luciel into her room, and they both saw Beldathiel who was still a small girl, sleeping on the carpet with her gold wings used as a blanket. Luciel knew that girl was Beldathiel and she couldn't help but look at little Beldathiel from up close because she found her adorable.
"Hey!" A small girl's voice could be heard at the door. "Hey! I'm calling you!" The girl sounded annoyed with her arrogant voice.
Luciel turned around to look at the brat that sounded so annoying to her ears. To Luciel's surprise, she couldn't believe that the annoying brat was her, and she didn't want to accept that fact. Although she didn't like that little girl, she found that little girl was adorable with that kind of attitude.
"Hey! Didn't you hear me?" Little Luciel walked toward Little Beldathiel who was hidden under her own wings.
Little Luciel grabbed little Beldathiel's left wing and pulled it forcefully like she had no guilt doing that. She then realized that little Beldathiel was asleep while hugging the dice so tightly. Rather than waking little Beldathiel up, she stared at her and realized how different she was from her.
Little Beldathiel opened her eyes and saw a girl with very long white hair that touched the carpet. She had never seen that girl and so she sat up to stare back at little Luciel with the same thought in her head.
"Who are you? How did you get here?" Beldathiel rubbed her eyes with her left hand while hugging the dice with her right arm.
"I'm Luciel, and I'm your older sister," Little Luciel answered arrogantly with her hands resting on her waist.
Little Beldathiel looked at Little Luciel with lazy eyes and didn't show any reaction at all after she heard the answer. She slowly laid down again and covered her body with her wings to sleep.
"Hey! Don't go to sleep again!" Little Luciel sat down beside Little Beldathiel and shook her shoulder to wake her up. "You haven't introduced yourself!" She shouted.
Little Beldathiel slowly lifted her left wing so she could see Little Luciel through the gap.
"Beldathiel is my name. Nice to meet you, sister," Beldathiel answered and then closed the gap again.
Little Luciel was so angry that she was being ignored, and so she threw a ruckus at Little Beldathiel to annoy her back. Beldathiel and Luciel who watched it make them wonder who was actually the older sister there. They couldn't stop chuckling because of how cute those two were, and the Beldathiel used the clock to fast-forward the memory.
Beldathiel was in her teens and she barely moved from her room as she grew up, and she started to understand the power within the dice. She started experimenting with it, and that was when she also discovered the power within her. She could duplicate herself with the dead skins that littered the room which shocked Luciel when she saw it.
"Belda, are you asleep?" Luciel's voice could be heard from outside the room. She then entered before Beldathiel could say a word. "Oh, you're awake? That's rare of you to be awake," she walked toward Beldathiel who was playing with the dice.
Luciel had grown older and she was taller than Beldathiel, and she looked more dignified. Her hair was shorter and her gray-white eyes started to appear more and more beautiful.
"Your other sisters are wondering about you, you know? How long are you going to stay in your room?" Luciel sat on the bed and looked at Beldathiel's pale skin and face.
"Maybe once I'm not sleepy anymore I'll think about going out to meet them," Beldathiel answered as she thought about the dice and if Belphegor was the one who gave the dice.
"They haven't seen you once in their whole lives. Well, one way or another, you will meet them all soon," Luciel pointed out.
Beldathiel raised her eyebrows as she looked at Luciel.
"What do you mean by that?" Beldathiel asked.
"It's the centurial meeting of the Demon Kings and this time everyone must attend the meeting including us. My father has an important announcement for all demons," Luciel answered and she looked excited.
"What it's all about?" Beldathiel asked.
"You will know during the meeting, so wait patiently and just sleep until the time comes," Luciel answered with a smile as she stood up. "I came to tell you this, so I'll meet with the other sisters to inform the Demon Kings about the meeting. See you soon, Belda," she said and then left the room.
Beldathiel and Luciel explored Gehenna to see Luciel meeting with her sisters and the Demon Kings. After that, they went to the Empyrean World to meet with Lucifer, and that was when Luciel was shocked by Lucifer's appearance.
Luciel was immersed in the conversation between teen Luciel and Lucifer. She felt a weird connection between her and Lucifer even though she had never met Lucifer before. Then the meeting started and she saw all the Demon Kings and Demon Princesses gathered in the palace.
The moment Lucifer announced his plan to conquer the mortal world and the Gods that had been protecting them, Luciel felt a similarity to her past. The fact that Aevia used the same scenario as what Mykel made in his story. At that point, she felt like she was being reused like a tool to please Aevia to get Mykel's attention and lure him toward her.
They both watched how the story unfolded and even after Mykel's encounter with Lyneth, there were barely any changes to the story. Somehow it seemed like the encounter didn't affect the past at all, but they weren't sure if that was the case or if Lyneth didn't try to persuade or suggest Mykel from doing anything.
Luciel watched herself being used and manipulated by Mykel and she didn't like it at all. She couldn't believe the woman that looked like her was dancing on Mykel's palm. But, after she finds out the truth about Luciel's existence and Lucifer's plan to use her to make himself powerful, made her realizes she was making the right decision to join Mykel's side.
"Do you find the difference?" Beldathiel asked as she looked at herself and Luciel in a room with Mykel after he explained the origin of Celestial beings and Lucifer's past. "I'm talking about Mykel and how he treats you in this moment and the moment where he met you in a new world," she pointed out.
"He was straightforward compared to this. No trickery whatsoever," Luciel answered. "Also, I have to admit that I don't understand how he thinks and how he could fight two powerful beings simultaneously and yet hold his ground," she pointed out and looked at Mykel from up close.
"That's something I don't understand either, but it's always fascinating and exciting when Mykel shows his intelligence and how can he solve any problem with anything that he has," Beldathiel answered. "Just like in this current situation. That's why we always believe in him because deep down, he's the only one who will take on all the responsibilities and the consequences.
"It's because Mykel originated from Aevia, and he accumulated all the knowledge he got from the very first beginning when the abyss was created by her. He was created to withstand any kind of pressure and challenge that made him a terrifyingly capable being," Amaryllis answered as she appeared behind them. "Are you guys having fun playing with the clock?" She looked at both of them.
"I'm just showing Lucy what we have been through. This is what I want her to see, the time we spent together," Beldathiel answered as she looked at Luciel. "I don't want her to forget that she's one of us," she pointed out.
"I see, then I'll leave you guys alone then," Amaryllis nodded with understanding.
"Wait," Luciel grabbed Amaryllis' hand before Amaryllis decided to leave. "There's something that I want you to do," she added.
Amaryllis turned around and looked at Luciel with curiosity. Read exclusive content at My Virtual Library Empire
"Do you think you can do it?" Luciel asked. "I want to get my old memories back," she added.
Amaryllis and Beldathiel were surprised that Luciel suddenly wanted to get her memories back. Beldathiel didn't plan to persuade her at all, she just wanted to let her see her past memories through the record.
"Is there a reason why you suddenly decide to take your old memories back?" Amaryllis asked out of curiosity.
"Because I believe my old memories are the genuine memories of mine, and not what I currently have. My memories of mine right now, are fake ones and after seeing how Aevia reused the story that had happened in the past, I feel like I'm just a machine that's being programmed to have those memories rather than making it myself," Luciel answered.
Amaryllis smiled and nodded her head with understanding.
"Then I'll do it now, giving you back the precious life you had," Amaryllis held Luciel's hands and stared into her eyes.
What do you think?
